I say Therion purely because stealing is ludicriously overpowered and you want Therion overleveled for it, and I couldn't imagine how much it must have sucked for all non-Therion starters to pass by locked chests. Evasive maneuvers is amazing, but just get Cyrus early, nbd.
Very educative video. Cyrus sure caught my interest due to him being so versatile, and I was also curious about H'aanit because I've always loved "Beastmaster" type of characters. Thanks a bunch!
Haruhi Suzumiya tressa? tressa is not really that great, and although olberic has a great raw strength, cyrus and alfyn will actually be important for your team
@@retrah1611 Cyrus is also the most newcomer friendly. Not only does he possess at the start 3 types of Magical attacks, cane and ability to reveal the opponent's weaknesses, but he can also deal more Magical damage than Primrose and Ophelia, even if they do become scholars later on. He is up there with the top 4.
Retrah Tressa is actually a great character. Eye for money is one of the most useful abilities in the game, her even stats can let her work well with any sub job, and she is basically a necessity for the late game.
Two things to note: - Alephan’s Enlightenment can be applied to Cyrus by another character with the Scholar subclass so that Cyrus doesn’t have to use his own SP, BP, and turn on it. - Skills such as Arrowstorm, Rain of Arrows, Spearhead, etc. have a minimum of 3 guaranteed hits. This minimum increases with boosting, though I don’t know the specifics of the minimum of each level of boost.
H'AANIT!! The golden axe can be gotten very early and she can use many weapon types with her beasts. She's a killing machine especially through the early game
Ik I'm kinda late, but I run scholar primrose, and a really devastating combo for bosses is Alephans enlightenment by prim onto cyrus and aelfrics onto cyrus from a cleric, and also try to peacock strut onto cyrus, this does insane single target damage perfect for a boss. So that's your use for Alephans enlightenment lol
This game was fun, great fun... Then I got Cyrus' evasive maneuvers and the game got SO MUCH BETTER... I feel like it turned into the PERFECT amput of time between battles, seriously! Also, he deals a lot of damage - also, his story isn't half bad haha
I went into this game blind. Yes I know it’s old but for some reason I just always put it off until now. I’m still playing Skyrim (thank you mod community! And with all the new stuff in the anniversary addition. I have that game for every system except my Samsung refrigerator. Lol) anyway games like that were the reason I kept putting it of. ESO, Skyrim, cyberpunk ( am I the only person who loves that game. Just wish they did more with the communication between friends and lovers. It sux calling Judy and having her say, “I was just thinking about you. And before you ask, no you weren’t wearing clothes”. Double anyways, I just got into this game and chose the Hunter because she’s hot and she’s the ranger type character. I usually go mage first but the capture skill intrigued me. Even though I also liked the look of the cleric and the skills of the thief and crafter would be important, I figure,…. I still went with her. Now, after watching this imma grab the third and Cyrus ASAP. Or maybe start a new game with Cyrus and one with the thrift and see how it goes. Holy rambling Batman. Sorry, I tend to do that when I’m excited about something. Thanks for the information. Subbed!!!
Cyrus or Tressa for their talents. My team is Cyrus/Merchant, Tressa/Dancer, Therion/Cleric, and Obleric/Hunter. Incredibly versatile group with great talents firing off. Therion is the one you want to sub out whenever it's needed. Obleric as an Apothecary is also nice.
Alfred Bergstedt I'm guessing you're referring to capture? It's a choice between an effectively useless skill (bolster defense) and a skill that has some use, but is tedious. Obleric is a better choice since you can pair him with either the hunter or apothecary class, making him a super tank or a physical damage power house. Or to putt it another way, the hunter may be the better choice one-to-one, but Obleric is far better for the overall team makeup.
Just started playing the game. Had no idea I couldn't switch out my first character until I finish their story, so now I have to grind levels and finish Primrose's story first lmao Don't even ask me about my main team, it's horrible now that I think about it.
So, here's how I'm building my Cyrus since he's my strongest character and people can tell me if this works or not: Subclass: Cleric Both final skills for Scholar and Cleric Unlocked [ I don't have the final jobs yet, waiting till I beat all Chapter 3's ] SP Saver Persistence The Show Goes On Patience I think at least 1-2 Pomegranate L's are required, or you have someone use Merchant class for giving you enough BP for this. With SP Saver, you'd have plenty of SP to spare to pull this off. Stack both Alephan's Enlightenment and Aelfric's Auspices and thanks to both Persistance and The Show Goes On, it stacks for 5 turns instead of just 3. You'd do an incredible amount of damage on one target twice, and with the chance of Patience, you'd be able to attack up to 4 times in one turn. So imagine hitting 4 times with elemental weakness using skills that hit the enemy twice. And this is all without standard magic buffs too. Add it all up and you'd get the potential of doing either 39,996 damage or, because patience, 79,992 damage a turn. There's probably a better option than what I'm doing but I'm just working with what I have for now. What do you guy's think?
Appreciate the video bro. The rate of random encounters is way too high in the game. I started with Haanit and have 3 others already going to swap out Alfyn and get Cyrus
I haven't completed the game yet by any means, but I think I've found an incredibly good combination of characters that help you progress super easily. 1) Cyrus +Dancer (Covers all elemental attacks minus light magic, and covers dagger) 2) H'aanit +Warrior (Covers all physical weapons minus dagger if you don't have a beast to deal dagger damage) 3) Tressa +Cleric (Covers light magic, and can be used to self sustainably revive and heal without the need for items by using the rest merchant skill to heal SP) 4) Therion (unnecessary to the core team but has nice overworld abilities) With the three character core, you get a provoker in H'aanit to clear characters and you get Evasive Maneuvers (to avoid encounters) plus Evil Ward (to run away easily) These three core characters are so good together that I was able to progress through all of the second levels (so far I haven't done thirds) without the need to level up the extra character who is initiating the story. The only healing items I ever needed to buy were SP restoration one's and olives for the occasional chance that Tressa would die.
JakeTheGearHeart would having alfyn being the main leader hinder the use of using this type of composition or it all comes down to having Cyrus, h’annit and tressa in the party? Currently just started with alfyns chapter 2 no one else’s.
I didn't know that Evasive Manoeuvres was actually Cyrus' move. I picked him first as I like mages, but seems he's the "she-eye-it" all-round then. Should I be going for Thief and then Hunter for party members next then?
My main group I was thinking of using is: Tressa Merch/dancer, Cyrus Scholar/thief, Alfyn Apoth/Cleric and H'annit Hunter/warrior. Only theorized though, dunno if it works or not. Getting my copy tomorrow :)
That was my path. I pretty much kept Therion in my party all the way until the end. Having to go back for purple chests is a pain. Pretty much every dungeon has them, and they always have good items in them.
Can I ask why you chose the sub jobs you did? I’m having trouble on choosing the most effective ones for my characters. Right now I have Cyrus (Merchant/ scholar), Therion (thief/hunter), Ophilia (cleric/dancer) and h’aanit is just a hunter. I do have the golden axe for her and soul daggers for Ophilia and Therion! Any feedback or tips would be greatly appreciated.
I’m currently in the mid 20s to 30s but have just been grinding away at keeping all of them roughly the same level. I haven’t picked up alfyn yet, I will but I don’t get if there is any appeal to the apothecary class. I have 22 hours so far.
The huntress was gonna be my pick as main character just based on my preferences in playstyle and story, so this sounds very good indeed. About stealing the Golden Axe, if you have a low chance of success, would you just reload and try again after a failed attempt?
Got the game yesterday and started as primrose best character in game her skill is busted go get primrose on you’re team if you haven’t and just got theirion as well and he’s good
I understand that this makes it easier to play the game. But the group I picked out was just fine. Beat the game just fine. Don’t have any issues. This is nice and all. But unnecessary.
In my Opinion Cyrus is far away from beeing one of the best Characters. When you reach latr on the hidden shrines with the special classes Cyrus feels completely underwhelming. In my Opinion the best Character are 1. Ophillia 2. Alfyn 3. Tressa 4. Primrose 5. H'aanit and then maybe Cyrus but the end is very mixed and the gap between better and worse character is pretty low overall. I just think the Top character have 1 broken skill that makes them important for your team hile the last 3 have just good skills overall but no must have skill
Underwhelming? You do realize that most enemies are weak to him? I have him as my main protagonist and I died without the usage of secondary classes only less than 2 times to a boss fight and that was all in Chapter 4. Ophelia isn't even better than Alfyn as her magic isn't the best damage wise and in terms of healing, Alfyn is kinda better. Tressa is versatile, but not really that great compared to Alfyn or wven Cyrus and in order for her to be truly powerful, you need to have a shit ton of money, which means she is only broken in late game. Cyrus is also more newcomer friendly than all the other main Characters, since his Scrutinize skill makes battles a fuckton easier.
I say Therion purely because stealing is ludicriously overpowered and you want Therion overleveled for it, and I couldn't imagine how much it must have sucked for all non-Therion starters to pass by locked chests. Evasive maneuvers is amazing, but just get Cyrus early, nbd.
Yeah. I'd say the big three are Therion then Primrose because exp buff is busted. Then Cyrus
Very educative video. Cyrus sure caught my interest due to him being so versatile, and I was also curious about H'aanit because I've always loved "Beastmaster" type of characters. Thanks a bunch!
Therion for the purple chests and stealing ability.
i know I'm pretty off topic but does anyone know of a good place to stream newly released movies online ?
@Archer Chance try Flixzone. You can find it on google :)

You should be telling the best areas for grinding for early, mid and late of the game.
Started with Cyrus and he is indeed fantastic. I really like Therion's abilities, and Tressa's donate BP skill.
Before i even watch i predict Cyrus or hannit! I choose cyrus and was 200% satisfied.
Rony Games Olberic for me, then Cyrus and Tressa

yea, the beginning of the game wouldve been extremely tough if not for him
Retrah Tressa is actually a great character. Eye for money is one of the most useful abilities in the game, her even stats can let her work well with any sub job, and she is basically a necessity for the late game.
one of my favourite skills to use is leghold trap, especially for bosses that attack multiple times ^^
Forget evasive maneuvers. The reason why Cyrus is the best starting character is analyze. Period.
analyze makes a lose turn, what so good about it?
You learn weaknesses
Just remember weaknesses
I wonder if they meant “Study Foe”
I've been playing nonstop today, I started with therion because I thought I may need to steal some good stuff lol.

You can get augments to your stealing by inquiring/scrutinizing npcs

Thanks, the tip about stealing the Golden Axe for H'annit was especially helpful. She appealed to me most as a starting character.
This game was fun, great fun... Then I got Cyrus' evasive maneuvers and the game got SO MUCH BETTER... I feel like it turned into the PERFECT amput of time between battles, seriously! Also, he deals a lot of damage - also, his story isn't half bad haha
I started with Cyrus because Knowledge is Power and Magic is Everything!
You play Fire Emblem and use Reinhardt, don't you?
I enjoyed the clear tips - what sub class do you recommend for the party you had? Look forward to more videos soon!

Also, support skills don't matter in terms of being tied to class. Get SP saver and Second Wind on most characters and you won't be let down.
I Think you should use h'aanit instead of olberic because she has a much better combat skill

Yeah but you have olberic as a hunter and then i think you should have h'aanit because like you Said it has some uses.
thanks for the guide, I can get those 2 axes very early. It's only 3% chance and I can get it only on my 2nd try.

Just found your vid! Great stuff man!
cyrus is my fourth teammate, gonna go and get hannit ! wish me luck!!
Just got this game today and this video is super helpful! Thanks!!
I chose Therion cause I get to rob people
I still can get the golden axe starting out with cyrus? Starts out with Cyrus, recruit ophelia, h'aanit, then therion and challenge that girl?
Ophilia/scholar with equipment boosting elemental attack is OP af. She’s dishing way more damage than Cyrus in my party.
Cyrus can surpass her with the same equipment very fairly,so it's a matter of preference.
Appreciate the video bro. The rate of random encounters is way too high in the game. I started with Haanit and have 3 others already going to swap out Alfyn and get Cyrus
I started with Tressa. She is the most balanced imo but Cyrus is a good secondary
Great Vid! Thanks!
I started with the hunter babe. I do not regret it.
Awesome, as usual, of course
I haven't completed the game yet by any means, but I think I've found an incredibly good combination of characters that help you progress super easily.
1) Cyrus +Dancer
(Covers all elemental attacks minus light magic, and covers dagger)
2) H'aanit +Warrior
(Covers all physical weapons minus dagger if you don't have a beast to deal dagger damage)
3) Tressa +Cleric
(Covers light magic, and can be used to self sustainably revive and heal without the need for items by using the rest merchant skill to heal SP)
4) Therion (unnecessary to the core team but has nice overworld abilities)
With the three character core, you get a provoker in H'aanit to clear characters and you get Evasive Maneuvers (to avoid encounters) plus Evil Ward (to run away easily)
These three core characters are so good together that I was able to progress through all of the second levels (so far I haven't done thirds) without the need to level up the extra character who is initiating the story. JakeTheGearHeart What would Therion's subjob be, Aphotechary? I really like this party set-up, might have to use it. Thx for sharing! :)
Just the way I do it! Give Therion Merchant so he can donate Bp to Cyrus together with Tressa. Really good to setup big Magic attacks.
you forgot wind magic
Olberic with the hunter subjob has higher attack than haanit the warrior subjob, and you don't have to go out and waste time catching monsters either.
Thanks for the real tips bro.
I started with Therion but got H'aanit second and keep Cyrus in my party
19 hours in, started alfyn... I make poor life choices
I started with Prim Rose! WHAT CAN YOU SAY?
I didn't know that Evasive Manoeuvres was actually Cyrus' move. I picked him first as I like mages, but seems he's the "she-eye-it" all-round then. Should I be going for Thief and then Hunter for party members next then?
Why was Cyrus's secondary class Warrior? Wouldn't it be better on a physically offensive character?
Thanks a lot man ima drop a sub I got the game on sale recently and wanna get into it
Great tips thanks!
Can you make a video showing all shrine locations
how many hours
did you play before finishing it ?
Which party of 4 would you say is the most effective to use as a main-group through most of the game. With secondary jobs included?
My main group I was thinking of using is: Tressa Merch/dancer, Cyrus Scholar/thief, Alfyn Apoth/Cleric and H'annit Hunter/warrior. Only theorized though, dunno if it works or not. Getting my copy tomorrow :)
Mine is
Therion- scholar/ thief ( weird I know)
Ophilia- cleric/dancer
Olberic- warrior/ hunter
Cyrus- scholar/ apothecary ( also weird)
@@Mike-er5ws how did it turn out?
I picked Haanit. How do I get Therion right away? It seems like her path makes you go westward towards the Cleric and Cyrus.
Kayvan you have to find the path down from the forest so like southeast
Just head south east. I started with Haanit and got Therion second
That was my path. I pretty much kept Therion in my party all the way until the end. Having to go back for purple chests is a pain. Pretty much every dungeon has them, and they always have good items in them.

Can i still capture with haanit as a side member in my party?
I use alephans enlightenment in boss battles i use it then donate 3 bp to Cyrus and deal 3x more damage than a aoe magic
I began with Cyrus. Was not disappointed
Who's the worst character i have this game on pre order
It doesnt take 10 minutes to say therion
Mister Turk Turkle lol
Blame TH-cam, gotta get that revenue
The huntress was gonna be my pick as main character just based on my preferences in playstyle and story, so this sounds very good indeed.
About stealing the Golden Axe, if you have a low chance of success, would you just reload and try again after a failed attempt?
Yes, save-scumming works for the Golden Axe
cyrus is by far the best character
Does having different sub classes equipt impact stat increase when you level up?
I sub just found your channel
Nice intro !
If I give the second job of thief to someone are this person will be able to steal from npc's in the towns?
I chose Olberic.
same. I am crushing it. MY BLADE IS UNBENDING!!!!!
