I’d follow him just about anywhere, but, between the daughter and the adverts every 2 minutes, I had to leave this video. I know, I know, but I’m watching all his other solo videos. There’re many. He’s a legend.
If you look closely, she's being protective and trying to fill in for him. He was forgetting some words and jumbling some sentences. It was only a few years after he was in the hospital so maybe she was concerned. She snapped at the audience too
It is amazing watching the interaction between father and daughter. The love and the humor. I have listened to his interviews and I believe the only person who needs to have an opinion on who is in his kitchen is him.
I've been belatedly working my way through every Julia Child and Jacques Pepin video I can find during the Covid lockdown. Such insight and entertainment. What great cooking tips too. You've given me inspiration and pleasure. The knowledge is timeless, challenging and intriguing all at once. Just like to say a very big thank you for making an endurance into a pure pleasure. Well worth getting up for to apply some new techniques or indeed staying up late into the night to watch. Books are on order but meantime I'm applying the wisdom of my peers. Merci et bon appetit.
I've been doing Julia and Jacques as well as just Jacques recipes, before I had a computer and writing from watching the VCR up to today. And whats weird is I do different chef's recipes in our time as there are million on you tube, and guess what? I'll have failures with them, and I've NEVER EVER had a failure with Jacques these past two and a half decades. This blows my mind. He was one of the few back then and was the best. And with a million other chefs today, he is STILL the best.
Actually, is refreshing to see Claudine "out of her shell" so to speak -- for so many years she was really uptight working with papa. Jacque is every year more relaxed and so is Claudine. Love their back and forth cooking!
*"It Takes Two" starts playing* Me: This is disrespectful and insulting to such a great man. *Pepin boogies as he comes on stage* Me: What a great music selection! Show em what you got Jacques!
Chef Pepin is a joy to watch and listen to. His voice is very relaxed and pleasing. I don’t think he and Claudine are a good ensemble. She is too over powering. She needs to give him more space and credit.
Even God needs to learn cooking from Sir J.P. What a joy to see Papa and daughter cooking. He's the Legend of Legends. Thank you Food&Wine and Kitchen Aid, for bringing this to us. Love you Sir
Maybe just let Jasmine help next time. And then we listen to Jacques. I love this man so very very much. I have learned so much from him. Just want to hear him. Just him. :)
M. Pépin, Thank you for your wonderful display of knowledge and for sharing it with everyone! I do appreciate this show and the way they conversed; this is the way people who actually cook interact inside a home kitchen, there is always lots of conversation and movement. Thank you both! Cristina
Claudine is usually such a quiet sous chef, just bringing stuff for Jacques, but this was fun too. It was more like seeing how a drunk family event might be at their house. The only thing that bugged me was they didn't give Jacques wine to start with, and put bright lights in his eyes.
If only the daughter were as elegant as the father quietly assisting her father who is a master of his craft and looking on with admiration. Just imagine...
Jacques has always been impatient with Claudine in earlier shows. Poor Claudine has always had to live in the shadow of a legend - her father. She's most likely an accomplished chef herself but is compelled to defer to her father. I enjoy their interaction, it doesn't take away from the educational value of these videos. God bless them both!
I have always loved Jacques Pepin. I have a great deal of respect for him and his history. I had a little problem with this video because he seemed to belittle his daughter, Claudine, and it made me sad and then made me disgusted. I understand how he is probably a perfectionist, although, he does things sometimes that are NOT indicative of a perfectionist, but he seemed to always be irritated with whatever Claudine was (or wasn't) doing. It made me feel bad for her.
claudine is not really a big help for him. They needed to set him up better with the oil and the pans. I am sorry for being in Aspen Food and Wine they suck. Not Jacque but the set up sucks. So sorry for such a renowned chef to have to go through this mess.
Poor Chef Pepin! He was so nervous with her interrupting him constantly. I can tell that Chef Pepin is a serious worker from the training in his youth. He then became a serious professional from working in the best restaurants with the highest standards. His tenure at Howard Johnson's is where he developed his skills in the mass production and implemention of "receipes of perfection" that could be experienced in each and every Howard Johnson restsurant across our country so that every dining event contained no surprises for the diner. It is no surprise Jacques Pepin became an educator to convey what he knows to students who want to learn to become better cooks or become professional chefs.
Claudine needs to stop interrupting him and ruining his segments. I absolutely love Jacques, but she simply repeats what he has said multiple times in past segments and shows in the most annoying way. I understand he’s 84 now, but he’s 100 times smarter in the kitchen than she she will ever be. So she needs to back off because she’s not funny or entertaining at all.
I didn't like this video, the way Claudine interacted with her father came across being disrespectful and condescending. He is a great chef. I don't know what was going on with her nerves of something but this was so awkward and hard to watch. Really a shame !
I like Claudine. She looks pretty and has a great respect for her dad. They seem to get along like two peas in a pod - what a great experience to be able to learn from them ! Claudine is very easygoing. Awesome job Mister Pepin and Claudine! Nice.
To be fair, he's not quite with it because she's being distracting. But, she knows him better than anyone and maybe he was having an off day, so she took over to help. She is pretty protective of him and probably can tell when he's not into it.
Perfect team. I don't get the people who spoke bad about Claudine. Father and daughter is not audience and master chief. You looking for respect, when you seeing love and you are not happy. Poor little people.
? I believe all of it. Cooking the fish skin side down and covered, without turning.... making a simple sauce from just a fresh tomato...butter roses....all of the egg tips....
My brothers daughter is an only child. Caludine ,you must be too. With the most utter disrespect for you're genius DAD. Rolling you're eyes raising your eyebrows like you are 13 years old. The way my brothers only daughter to this day talks to my brother. Caludine have more than 1 kid.
She is too much, I agree. I hope she reads comments and notices how offensive her remarks and behavior are to her father. If together they decided this would be humorous, please it is not! We all just love him...I think he should not work with her live again...we are very protective for him.
A disaster ! I admire Chef J>Pepin He is the best !I found the show"mess-up" too much taking from His daughter ,very annoying-They kept looking for ...This..that. she forgot to put the dessert in the frig! I always enjoy the Master cooking shows for many years back with the Great 'Julia Child"' but ,that one was a flap .Maybe it was "the altitude".??.
I am so happy that everyone sees how his daughter Claudine is trying to steal Jacques thunder. Her rolling her eyes her condescending attitude is enough to ruin a beautiful segment of Jacques cooking. He does not need her help and he would be better off keeping her off the stage. She ruined the whole show I couldn’t finish watching it. Oh my God Claudine shut up.
I LOVE Jacques Pepin. What I did not enjoy was Claudine’s disrespect for her father in the failed attempts to be funny. One day she will see herself after he is gone and will regret it.
I’d follow him just about anywhere, but, between the daughter and the adverts every 2 minutes, I had to leave this video. I know, I know, but I’m watching all his other solo videos. There’re many. He’s a legend.

I love Jacques He is my favorite t.v. chef ever .
I could watch him open that bottle a million times

Claudine is vivacious. She's an asset to the show. Do you see how polite she is with staff? Classy lady.
I enjoyed Claudine a lot this time. She is very entertaining and on spot. You can tell she is a pro in the kitchen. Love it. thanks
Even God needs to learn cooking from Sir J.P.
What a joy to see Papa and daughter cooking. He's the Legend of Legends. Thank you Food&Wine and Kitchen Aid, for bringing this to us. Love you Sir
Claudine is an expert at stating the obvious and she is skilled at interrupting.
Maybe just let Jasmine help next time. And then we listen to Jacques. I love this man so very very much. I have learned so much from him. Just want to hear him. Just him. :)

This reminds me of my dad and I together thank you for this

Claudine: This Kitchen Aid (Food Processor) is perfect!
Jacques: Yeah, ok...
Claudine is usually such a quiet sous chef, just bringing stuff for Jacques, but this was fun too. It was more like seeing how a drunk family event might be at their house. The only thing that bugged me was they didn't give Jacques wine to start with, and put bright lights in his eyes.
Claudine still can't cook but she's a good sport. Jacques is just amazing as always.
Papa does quite well by himself...just saying.
How bout you introduce your dad?

In the 11 years old PBS video, she did

Even when she asks a question, he gets irritated. SMH
He is amazing 😉 and every time I watch his video game I learn something new. Thank you, 👨🍳!
That was wonderful love Jacques so much !!!!
Claudine is argumentative and confrontational. I much prefer the episodes with Shorey. Either way Jacques is my favorite chef.
Hi Everyone @ Food & Wine And Thank You So Much For Sharing Your Beautiful Video On Chef Jacues Pepins Recipes @ Food & Wine 👍👍🎥🎥📷📷📸📸👍👍❤️❤️

Boo this woman
I'm here for Jacques...
Where are the Kitchen Aid machines manufactured?
❤❤ for the algorithm ❤❤

I agree. She is irritating. I don’t know why she’s there. He cooks so much better without her.
She cooks real well. it's a show...has nothing to do with cooking talent.
I think she was repeating what he said because he was a little quite sometimes
i was thinking the same thing. she is messing up is flow.
Poor Jacque they didn't have anything prepped for him.
I didn't like this video, the way Claudine interacted with her father came across being disrespectful and condescending. He is a great chef. I don't know what was going on with her nerves of something but this was so awkward and hard to watch. Really a shame !
She does that for laughs and it works.
I could watch Jacques all day. His daughter...not so much.
I hope see can learn from the comments step back and let him do his thing.
Claudine talking over him too much she is a bit annoying.
Brutal
I like Claudine. She looks pretty and has a great respect for her dad. They seem to get along like two peas in a pod - what a great experience to be able to learn from them ! Claudine is very easygoing. Awesome job Mister Pepin and Claudine! Nice.
Love Jacques. Iffy on the daughter
Please stop interrupting! People want to watch and listen to Chef Pepin!
Parlez-vous francais Claudine?
I love Claudine here. She’s a real sales person here 🥰 It’s Papa that’s not quite with it.
Bull, who is the master chef?
To be fair, he's not quite with it because she's being distracting. But, she knows him better than anyone and maybe he was having an off day, so she took over to help. She is pretty protective of him and probably can tell when he's not into it.

Haha he’s so patient... even with his kids. She’s terribly annoying haha
👍
Where was the lesson from the grandfather?
? I believe all of it. Cooking the fish skin side down and covered, without turning.... making a simple sauce from just a fresh tomato...butter roses....all of the egg tips....
The lesson is that the older you get the more patience you must have with the young ones and pick your battles.
My brothers daughter is an only child. Caludine ,you must be too. With the most utter disrespect for you're genius DAD. Rolling you're eyes raising your eyebrows like you are 13 years old.

He is such a pleasure to watch - always pleasant. Sad to say, but she always looks annoyed.
Hush, Claudine. Please.
She was so annoying with irrelevant comments that I could not watch the full video. She just tried tooo hard to be amusing.
OMG she is brutal
Claudia doesn’t look happy so much of the time.
The show would be better without his daughter....
Thanks for the feedback!
Claudine is abrasive and impossible to listen to for 40 minutes
Claudine should help, after all she needs his star quality, but Claudine should stay quiet!! Honestly she is obnoxious!!
I can't believe she forgot to put the chocolate in the refrigerator! Really!?
omg she is so unpleasant and rude. stopped watching.
I LOVE Jacques Pepin. What I did not enjoy was Claudine’s disrespect for her father in the failed attempts to be funny. One day she will see herself after he is gone and will regret it.
she annoying, leave him alone
Jacques was annoyed by his daughter so evidently lol! Their quarreling was entertaining-Jacques made her look stupid
I stopped watching....love him his daughter needs to go away!
