I recently picked up a 2003 gs300 138k miles for 5 grand. Such a great car no complaints. One of the quietest cars ive been in and I personally love the look of the car. Easily the best car I've ever owed. Its honestly hard to believe its 20 years old
Just bought a 2001 89k mile gs300 absolutely in love this shit is so responsive and planted to the ground . Comfy , durable , cool , the sound when it shifts is wonderful lol like a pause and hiss
I bought my beautiful 2000 GS300 8 yrs ago. Best car I ever owned. Bought it with 200k with a ton of service records. She has 282k now. Everything works great except 2 door lock actuators. I do all the service work myself. Don’t trust any shops at all. Gas mileage to me isn’t bad at all. You are correct a 430 or 400 is almost the same from every thing I have read. Maybe a 1 or 2 mpg difference when just cruising but the V8 really consumes the gas under heavy acceleration but the reward is nice power.
Copped a 99 gs 400 for less than 4k 117k miles every maintenance record to date & even the sale sheets , I love this car i don’t think i’ll ever let this one go
Nice, Lexus sure does know how to make amazing vehicles for sure. One thing to note, is that on the GX470 and V8 4runner, while rugged, still have more luxury oriented options. Plush leather, sunroof, heated seats, automatic headlights, and SMOOTH v8 engine to name a few. I don't think you'd regret making the switch!
@@studentofphysicalculture I love this car. I’m gonna throw a tanabe exhaust on it while he’s away at school and drive it all the time. I’m amazed at how smooth this car is. Tracks like a slot car on the street.
@@studentofphysicalculture I just had to drive 300 miles to pick up a goodused gas tank. Ours is leaking and they don’t make them anymore. I’ll get it all sorted out. It’s a nice little project for me.
I have a 98 GS 300 with only 60,500kms when I bought it more than a year ago for the price very much less than a recent corolla here in Australia. It was taken care of religously by the seller and like you, I too have no regrets. My daily drive has no issue at all and rides just like new. Fuel is just the same as my RAV4 AWD except that I had to pump in with 95 petrol but that's all right. It's both a sleeper and a luxury car on long drives. People who look into its elegant design and understand 2JZ's admire the car! 😎
Might as well share my "current" GS300... Got a 2004 at 124k clean inside, clean undercarriage, clean engine bay, above good running engine for $4,200... I'm now down 15k extra in it 😂😢
Hell yeah. Mines at 220k. Cosmetically it's not amazing because it sits outside and it pains me not to be able to garage, but it's great for dd and cruising. They're really a great value for a used car. My only real complaint is the rear seats don't fold down and the mpg. If I had to do it again I'd buy a gs400/430 because it's basically the same price on the used market and the i6 drinks gas like a V8.
@@studentofphysicalculture Yeah mine is in its last phase of completion after 4 years of ownership. My engine and transmission has been overhauled so it runs great NA, and actually has gained a higher mpg of around 24 city/30 hwy. You'll be surprised at what lighter suspension components, wheels/ tires, aero package will do.
@@studentofphysicalculture Yeah. And it's been shimmed to shift more aggressively when putting your foot on the gas... When I put the gte in I'll be going with a DCT setup.
i wanted a gx or a lx but ended up getting a 2014 sequoia platinum, that thing is such a pleasure to drive on road trips and its got alot of luxury since its the platinum Edit* I also have a 99 gs400 and love it dearly, the v8 is amazingly smooth

Honestly the pinnacle of Japanese engineering. I just bought my son one. Fixing some things but it rides and pulls effortlessly.
