It’s so cool to see the different materials get exposed like tree rings as you shape the interior of the bowl! I love the combination of resin, coloring, metal, wood and transparency-it came out so beautiful!!!!
Oh, lovely! I really like it when you choose unusual wood pieces to work. The shattered effect here turned out very well, and I love how the resin turned out, too. 💜😃
There is a landscape in the bowl, not sure which, maybe Mars, but as you rotated the bowl, imagination went wild trying to see it all as it morphed. Wow, what a special and unique thing!
That bowl is sweet. I think the lead gives it some uniqueness and gives it a one of a kind aspect. Lead or not it is a damn good looking bowl and nobody can make me think differently.
Really nice, as always. Hadn't thought of using choke cherry for turning. In fact, hadn't thought of choke cherry for years. Gorgeous use of wood and resin.
@@PohlBarnProductions I used to go to South Dakota quite often as a kid. There were lots out there, too. I remember eating some of the fruit back then, and was surprised years later to see a chokecherry syrup in a cafe. Again, didn't even think about its wood turning usage.
@@punkylovell2875 the big piece is still very wet, at least the moisture meter says it is, I need to figure out how I want the bowl blanks to look and get it cut up and sealed to finish drying it.
Doug, you have always welcomed our suggestions. I thought of two things...when the project gets stuck in a bucket, why not just lop off the top of the bucket on bandsaw, mount it up and turn the "attached " plastic away? Wouldn't that save trouble for you? Or would the soft plastic not turn well off the project. Idea #2 is how about a Pohl Barn rubber stamp and find some permanent paint ink to stick the logo on to the bottoms? Then it wouldn't matter what material its going on if its more or less paint. I know a rubber stamp wouldn't cost too much to have made.
Thank You, Great Idea's ! my band saw isn't all enough to cut the bucket off and it would be any problem to turn it away, it came off once I cut it with a razor knife,
That has to be one of my favorite pieces that you have done! Beautiful wood, the resin really matches well and the bullets give it an interesting touch.
It’s so clear that you can see through it! How beautiful! That’s a piece of wood with some cool history too. Those bullets are cool. Great job yet again. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I think this is my favourite one so far. I love the transparency with the copper swirl and the wood reminds me of a burning forest? I don’t know, either way I love it and could watch you work for hours. So talented 👍🏻
Wow that a real nice color...I have copper but never used for the full color , just streaks , will try now ....I like the translucent . The colors goes with the wood great ! That crazy to see the bullets , nice ... I had a 300 year old pine and hit a musket ball close to the center .....That the closest I ever had bullets . Catch ha later
Great bowl. Love the translucent coloring. I hadn't been a resin turning fan, until I started watching you an a couple others on youtube. I will still stick to primarily wood turnings, but like the results of resin pieces.
@@PohlBarnProductions been fixing up my new place and giving a friend ahend around his farm. So i just got my shed set up and tools moved over here from my pops barn so i can get turning.
Miss Pohl Barn scribbled in the bottom lol. It looks like my birthstone. Another beautiful piece Doug. I’m a shooter as well and I love the bowl. Nice the ammo stayed in and shinny through .
The Pohl Barn Productions you’re welcome Doug. And yes it sure is. After years wanting I finally last week got my purchase of a Smith & Wesson model 64 revolver and I love it.
Sweet bowl. My co worker gave me some big logs from some trees he cut down to make a road on his horse farm in Romulus, MI. They were either buck cherry or choke cherry. I roughed them out and got some 14 or 15 inch bowls drying
Thank You, I have stoner but not the correct one for the resin I am using, I didn't know there was a difference when I ordered it until it would release on anything I was making.
