This video just popped up in my feed. Never saw it before. Lovely bowl Doug. Beautiful doggie too! I assume, since you now have the Henry tattoo, that he has left you. That makes me very sad, so sorry for your loss. He was gorgeous! And very sweet looking.
Bill Kane Great project Thanks for sharing any and all information when you are turning. It is always good to here suppliers names and information while you are working. Lath speed, polishing methods, sanding procedure , etc. never feel you are giving us too much information. we are always trying to learn the skills needed to make to make our projects turn out as good as yours. Thanks
Thank you Bill, for the most part I always turn at 1250 RPM unless it's off balance, it's hard to remember everything when you are making and turning off the top of your head like that while filming. then during editing things get cut and lost here and there
Beautiful bowl love it, Henry is just like my dog she won't give up the frisbee. Would love to see more of him in your videos, hey Henry you want to play give up the frisbee!!!!!
Yes, I agree Henry should be a Pohl Barn ⭐️ Star! ⭐️ Give him a nice scratch for me and tell him I said, “Hi sweet puppy!” 😆 Beautiful project. Love it! (P.S. 👍🏼 on NZ sticker. 😣)
I'm so glad I found you on youtube today. I also have a TH-cam channel. I have always been an artist...been playing with resin about 2 1/2 yrs...but have been trying to get my husband to try resin/wood projects. We started doing dragons eggs...and we also do trinket boxes with resin on the lids. This is a beautiful bowl. Thanks for sharing.😊
Doug this is another of your awesome bowls, the wood and resin combination is awesome the grain in the wood is stunning. I love it it is stunningly beautiful.
Nice bowl Doug. I turned some Alder back in 8th grade wood shop, made a bowl from two 2" Alder boards glued together for my mom. That was 197...7? She still uses it to serve guests chips at family get togethers LOL!
Nice Doug. I had the same issue with the makers central plack I did I had to sand that several time because the wood keep shrinking back. Nice shape to that bowl Doug nice idea about putting the glitter on first. Nice to meet Henry too.
Very nice piece Doug. I never knew alder could have that much color and figure. I like the yellow resin too. Nice shape to the bowl. Good production too. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you Pam and you are Welcome, LOL I'm turning that blank right now for Tuesday, we might be saying this again. I send them your way again ! Hopefully
I just love all your work. Everything you have made are just beautiful. I only started watching your work this morning. your work is amazingly spectacular. Keep up the awesome work
Beautiful bowl, Doug. The grain and the transparency of the resin are really nice. I especially like the urn foot and the ridge at the bottom of the bowl portion.
I know that is red alder but it looks orange so I like the orange and yellow colors. It is nice to see some wood from my home state Washington made it to your shop. Great project.
Thank you Woodden, I think there might be more of it on the way but I am not positive on that. I was also sent some spalted birch, not sure what to do with those yet as they are smaller pieces.
Always a pleasure watching the beautiful works you produce. The bowl came out amazing!! Thanks for sharing Doug! I hope one day I can produce something as nice as you do.
Nice shape to that bowl! I like the yellow edge also. Yes, Henry should be in your videos! Henry has lots of charisma! Lol. I learn a lot from watching your videos! Thanks for sharing!
Beautiful work my friend and it's great to see Henry again. Well got a house full of people today as I'm getting married tomorrow (Saturday) but managed to sneak some time to watch your upload. Have a great weekend.
That was FUN. The slo-mo snow was cool. No pun intended, but I said it anyway. Henry is my favorite bread of dog. I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of seeing him again and again. I wawnt that.
Love the gold sparkle with the yellow. I watched a video don't remember who but they said when doing the shine to push from outer rim down into center to get shine. I haven't tried it myself.
Thank You Wag, I have, the issue is the humidity here, everything in my shop is really to wet to turn let alone put resin on it, I can't seem to get the wood dry enough to have it not move while turning.
Another gorgeous work of art!! I can only hope to get a bigger lathe and make more awesome stuff like this one day. For now I will keep learning on my 8 x 12 and watching your videos!
Thank you, you could do this on your lathe, this started off about 9 inches I'm sure you could find a mold or something like that to accommodate your lathe
One more quick question... I have the same pressure pot, I think the black regulator that came on it is leaking so I slowly lose pressure over my cure time and end up around 28 lbs when I pour pen blanks... how does yours do without it?
Mine leaks down some, mostly because I do not have the regulator on it, you should be able to set the regulator to what pressure you want and it will stop there, leave air line attached and it should keep the pressure constant as long as you don't close or have a valve on it
@@PohlBarnProductions Things are going well... just too busy to spending much time on the lathe. I haven't even been up north yet. How's the fishing? I know the rain has been a pain for that.
24:29 I suggest a small buffing wheel in either an Electric Drill or a Dremel for the center, I think you aren't getting a shiny center because the center doesn't move relative to the buffing cloth nearly as much as the rest of the piece does. The buffing wheel will give you the movement generated friction you need to shine up the center... The ridge between the resin and wood may be caused be wood shrinkage due to it drying out if its moisture content was a little high...
Thank you, the moisture was for sure high as it hasn't stopped raining here but for a day or so here and there, I've since turned it again to true it up , sanded and refinished it. much better now
Dour, As always your work is beautiful. I always enjoy watching you turn. Also, thank you for taking the time to write back with your thoughts on your lathe. I still haven’t made a decision yet, but I also have to get a few shows going to save up some money. Keep up the great work.
Greeting mate, I thought at one point you were making a living christmas tree! What a nice bowl, that yellow goes so well with the wood. Keep up the good work and keep smiling!!!
That looks great ,so many " things " you can see at different angles . again that Acks paste is great , use it a lot now .I did something simulator with goblets . box all taped up ....most likely it was opened to check nothing was being smuggled .....I use to sent to Vietnam to my wife , she would open when we talked always different packed and taped up like that , same when she sent to me . Vietnam P.O. use to take and eat the chocolate until I sent exlax .They left 1 or 2 little pieces . To bad the wood strunk , hope it clean up OK and did not do it again . Quite natural , unless the gov is doing air pressure experiments over Michigan again ..LOL What you like about the " Total Boat " ? I have used Pro Marine . that stuff does not like under 70 degree much at all
Thank you Bruce, that's some funny stuff sending exlax. LOL it tends to be a bit thicker in the colder temps but most of the issue I have with it are me not the product it's self. I turned it again as got it straightened out and refinished. just left it sit a few days to finish moving.
Also definitely put that handsome dawg Henry in more videos!!! He has a beautiful face and we see who rules your household!!! Love to you all Tamsen Roberts in Riverside California
Just a thought, Doug..... Have you thought of making a resin/wood bowl with the resin as the base of the bowl and the wood at the top. An upside down bowl. Love your work and your ability to laugh at yourself. By the way, alder has the "l" before the "d" 🤔
Thank You James, Great name, actually his name is Henary after the chicken hawk that wanted to eat foghorn leghorn, he was like that when he was a pup to the bigger pit we had then, Tyson.

Thank you Roma, I gave him a scratch just for you, LOL you are the first to comment on the sticker ! I figured I was gonna get spanked for doing that.
Yellow is a great color. It frames the alder nicely, brings out the character of the grain.
Thank You Bob, LOL it was a lucky guess

Nice Doug. I had the same issue with the makers central plack I did I had to sand that several time because the wood keep shrinking back. Nice shape to that bowl Doug nice idea about putting the glitter on first. Nice to meet Henry too.
Thank you Steve, I got it sorted out, turned it true again and refinished after a couple days of sitting. still looks the same.
Thanks again for another fun video. The resin flying through the air was quite pretty.
Stay safe
Thank you Tandy, I couldn't move that camera anywhere with out getting it covered in ribbons.
Fantastic. I am such a fan

Very nice piece Doug. I never knew alder could have that much color and figure. I like the yellow resin too. Nice shape to the bowl. Good production too. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you Glen. I like the Alder, first time I've gotten my grubby lil hands on some !
Stunning project Doug and im glad the box arrived ok. Many thanks for shoutout really appreciated :-)

Thank You Teina
I was looking forward to this video after seeing the bowl on Facebook. Very nice piece. Your a typical woodworker, we are our own biggest critics.
Thank you Tim, Always !
Beautiful bowl, Doug. The grain and the transparency of the resin are really nice. I especially like the urn foot and the ridge at the bottom of the bowl portion.
Thank you William, that has answered a question I had, should I put a foot on the urn I have to make.
You do a great job of putting character into your bowls Doug. Another great job, thank you.

Beautiful piece of work Doug. I can only hope to produce such good looking art in the months to come.
Thank You Bryan, You can do it I know you can !
Man, you are an artist and that’s a beautiful piece of wood.
Why Thank you
Great work Doug! Red Alder (Poor Man's Cherry) is very nice wood. Sometimes wood is like a toddler...it just won't sit still!
Thank you Michael, it did move !

I think this is my favorite project so far . That’s so beautiful Doug...
Thank you Angela
The Pohl Barn Productions you’re welcome Doug.
Nice bowl Doug, the glitter showed up good on the rim, nice job man!
Thank you Bruce, I think that the 5 minute epoxy is allowing the wood to move separately from the resin, might not of been a good idea
Very good job on the rim!
Beautiful work Doug The Red Alder is beautiful wood.
Thank you Gerald

Thank you Mike, Henry is 7 this year.
I love the wood and the form, not so sure about the dandelion. But all in all nice job Doug. Thank you!
Thank you Tina
great piece Doug have you tried sealing the wood first that way it cannot release air giving you a clear cast or bubble free
Thank You Wag, I have, the issue is the humidity here, everything in my shop is really to wet to turn let alone put resin on it, I can't seem to get the wood dry enough to have it not move while turning.
