Yet another TH-cam wood/epoxy video where we burn our way through the Earth's resources chiseling away 90% of the material we actually started with. What a waste. Thumbs down. About time you guys came up with some fresh ideas and learnt some new skills. This kind of stuff is long beyond its sell-by date now.
Thank you for Watching RAT ! guys like you amuse me ! sit at your keyboard and bash others, for starters this is a piece of worthless wood, not even fit to burn it's so punky and rotten, so in fact I gave it new life no matter how much of it hit the floor. pay attention maybe you'll learn something. and again Thanks for watching.
@@jpwoodwork I gave you a thumbs up for your comment. However, you shouldn't have called Tricky Rat an Asshole. An Asshole is very useful and he/she doesn't qualify.
I've seen several of your videos now and this by far is my most favorite piece. The color and shape has lit a fire in me! I HAVE to learn how to woodturn. I need a bowl like this in my life! I checked your Etsy and there nothing like this on there. But woodturning seems so therapeutic haha. I. Must. Try. It. Thanks for talking us through what you're doing. Your videos are the best I've found. Perfect mix of talking and fast forward. And no weird music! 😩
Thank you Ashley, yes things go quick in the store, especially if it was a video then it normally sells in the first hour, take your time have fun with it,
Thank you Cindy, you have to have a mind set for this, you start off with an idea of what you want to make and go with the flow as the wood will decide the final outcome of every project.
beautiful as always!! I love your sense of humor, too, btw. I think why I'm fascinated with you woodturning folk is because you seem to be just as fascinated with the evolving "unveiling" that occurs as I am! ♥
Thank You Jennifer, we start off with an idea of what we want and then find out what it wants to be as we go. you just never know what it's going to look like or be until it's finished.
Wonderful piece of work. I can see that on a summer table piled with fruit or vegetables, or perhaps with a salad... Or as a centerpiece on a table all by itself.
I'm headed out to the woods for a week and won't have Internet, but I have TH-cam premium so I'm bringing you with me Doug. I'm looking forward to seeing it. - Ed
Thank you for sharing Henry with us. He's an adorable puppy! Lol! I hope you took some time off to play with the little rascal! And I love your mermaid salad bowl. Beautiful!
I love your work, and the up cycling of otherwise useless junk wood. I have been working with resins for years, and a couple suggestions for getting rid of bubbles would be instead of pressure, try a vacuum chamber, or another method is with vibration. Vacuum pulls the air out of crevices, and the vibration helps them rise and faster and pops them when they hit the surface. Keep up the great work, and the corny humor, I’ll keep watching and getting inspired, Thanks, and round and round she goes
That's cool Doug, one of my favorite kinds of wood to see worked on. Love that box elder, I like it a lot. Quit nitpicking about bubbles, it looks damn good.
Very beautiful bowl. I am very impressed with the Total Boat product. Even though you take a beating when it comes to using a gouge or carbide cutter. The results are well worth the effort when it is all done. I'm going to try the same Total Boat product you used for the pieces I have that cannot fit in a pressure pot. Just the information I needed to see. Thanks for taking the time to edit and post your videos.
Thank You Stephen, I'm not totally sure it is out yet, I poured just about 1920 gm of resin on the first pour, they warned me not to pour more than 3 inches thick, then I added more resin the next day to top off the pour, it did turn out nice but I did also get a witness line where the pours met, not bad but visible. I do have a promo code POHLBARN for 20% off
You are almost finished with my whole set of bowls!! Ocean and Mermaid done. Just two more!! lol sending out goodies that will go with the theme....soon. Just got to get to the post office. Beautiful job as always!
I love the finish, I think satin finishes are beautiful on wood like that. Sometimes too shiny just distracts from the details of the wood. Lovely color for the resin too! Another awesome piece! I was a bit nervous with the wobble, that could've hurt. A lot. I love the way it turned out, though.
Very very nice wool I love all the work you do my love watching all your videos keep doing what you’re doing because you’re teaching me a lot thank you very much God bless you
I love using spalted wood. The colors and designs flowing through the wood makes some beautiful works of art. I use cyanoacrylic glue and powdered rocks (turquoise -lol) to hold it together. Of course the spalting can't be too advanced for this to work. I need to get the pressure pot set up and go from there. I like the experimenting you do and the comments. The Mermaid Bowl is a keeper.
I really like this one! I watched the one this week with box elder and really like that one also. I carve instead of turn wood so I don't use the same kind of wood.
Beautiful bowl, can’t believe I missed when it was first put up. That Tim Holtz has some great products. It would be interesting to see how the oxide inks work with wood & resin. All the best. Lisa😁
That looks nice ....never worked box alder , really light you say ....to bad all that wood we have to turn off , so much wasted ......sometimes I like to pick up all the waste and glue it back and turn it again LOL I like that shine and how quick you get it to shine . I bought some Ack's and have been using it this pass couple of days , told Ann I got the "thumbs up " from you . I like it a lot .....so nice and quick . Thanks for showing it .
Thank You Bruce, well the box elder I have is half rotten and I get a lot of tear out from it, you can tell when I get into a nicer piece of it as the curls start coming off of it. I am glad you said that to them, they are so worried about their product not doing well. told them to give it time.
Thank You Hippie, keep an eye on the etsy store, we lost power last night so the wife didn't get it up and we've been busy today but I believe it's going up sooner or later.
i love this bowl all your hard work paud of looks really well. i loved the guest appearance of Henry wanting to play lol.... love sent from uk as always
15:37 I think that the exterior should only be finished after the interior is finished, just because of that: the mount in the chuck may not be the same as it was on the faceplate
So I have been to your online store and you have some beautiful things. I wonder though if you would ever make one of these for sale. I'd love to own some of your resin art. This, in particular, is so wonderful.

The natural pattern in the wood is stunning. The clear blue/green resin was the perfect color choice for this beautiful bowl
Thank You
I just love your art. It has been fascinating to watch you create and see beauty bloom instead of constantly being mind washed about the virus.

Beautiful piece. I love box elder wood. In my opinion it’s one of the prettiest local woods here in West Virginia. Great work Doug.

Bowl looks great, Doug. I like the wood "island" floating near the rim in the one large area of resin.
Thank You William, it is kinda cool looking just floating there all by it's self !
