I found some Beautiful agate's in my yard this property used to be rock Cory thanks for sharing your knowledge l turn into a rock hound l love rocks show time LoL have a awesome day
I always get my eyes stuck on those dumb rocks at 4:39 Stupid purple waxy rocks. I think they are made out of the same stuff, but when they look like purple potatoes GRRR> Love this video! Its funny when you pull out one of these show stoppers and you leave the little pebble agate laying there still.
Wow... amazing spot. I live near the Mississippi and we only find smaller rocks. You are finding some really awesome raws. Would love a hint about the area
Im so envy,in my country i have to dig in old mine leftovers made of mud and small rocks for hours to find one agate thats size is 1/3 compared to these.I wish I were here, amazing place for mineral collectors.
NECROMANCER JODYHIGHROLLER Easiest way is to find one of those tandem trailer aggregate haulers and just follow him..or look up aggregate companies. Most active working pits won't allow people in because of liability.. not advocating trespassing, but hey, most are closed on Sundays. I can't drive ten miles in any direction without finding one near me. Another way, is if they have a guard..doubtful, but I've slipped a guy a 50$ many a times and got excellent access.
are the pictures of the rocks them washed and polished orjust washed? i find cool rocks like that on the beach but when they dry out they look grey. only cool when wet.. will polishing change this?
Rookie Rockhounding Google Earth Rookie! Google Earth! You can find gravel pits near you and zoom in to see what's going on in them. Then sneak in them in the evenings or on Sundays. BE CAREFUL! There are many dangers in active pits that you probably had never even considered. Cavities, collapses, slides, sink holes, among other dangers so stay out of active areas, stick with stable ground that hasn't been worked lately. Good Luck!
It's just Niko The place shown in the video is Minnesota. It's a nice spot for agates. Rock beaches also tend to have small agates, mostly carnelian. Good luck finding agates!
