One of the funniest lines was left out. When Ted oversees what he perceives are very few mourners at the memorial he says "If this was my funeral it would be packed". And Murray turns to him and says "That's right Ted. It's just a matter of giving the public what they want".

Carol Burnett as Scarlett O'Hara with the curtain rod still in the dress. On Frasier when the cherries jubilee exploded off camera and Roz comes through the Swinging Doors hair all frazzled. On another frasier, Martin and Daphne are walking down the sidewalk when Martin's old recliner chair falls on the sidewalk in front of them on fire. But Mary's switch from being the scold to laughing out loud to crying was brilliant. It was all acting and no tricks.

This main point is so true... that your emotions don't always do what you want them too. Sometimes it's due to exhaustion, sometimes not, but its not hard to be unexpectedly overwhelmed. This was a great theme for the humor of the show.

And not all laughter is caused by experiencing something funny. Nervousness can cause laughter as a response. I know someone who had to leave a wake because of nervous laughter.
It’s also true that anything that is even mildly amusing can become hilarious in a situation where you are not supposed to laugh, such as in a church or at a funeral.

@TheHarryleemartin You just admitted you are wrong. Also, Phyllis 's daughter was a member several times . As for the other full or part-time actors on that show, hire look alike replacements or actual relatives as fillers for Mary, Lou, Ted, Murray, etc. Come on, folks, let's make this happen ..... use technology now available to harvest the real sentences from the many past MTM and Dick Van Dyke shows to create or piece together new dialog. Nothing is impossible. You can get this done through AI Hollywood. Produce an authentic reunion show that can be so much more than " A weekend at Bernies" type show of propped up lifeless bodies ! Use long and medium long shots instead of close ups, apply extra makeup , etc. This is doable . Pay relatives of those cast members now deceased who are agreeable to legal exhumation of their bodies to add authenticity when the credits roll. You want Mary Tyler Moore? The REAL Mary? Done!
Don't ever say " all " cast members who appeared on MTM are dead. That's like saying all members of the Beatles or Lynerd Skinard are dead. Not true, bub. Apologize, sir, for being technically WRONG! Class dismissed.

You really need to watch the whole show to appreciate the humor in this clip. Of course, I was alive when this first aired. I thought it was funny then and still find it funny now.

This episode won the primetime Emmy for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series, the writer one best writing for a sitcom, and, finally, in 1997, this episode was ranked No. 1 on TV Guide's "100 Greatest Episodes of All Time". The comments are not hyperbole. Yours is just from ignorance.

Ease up on the weed pimp, It’s all just opinions, i didn’t say it sucked it’s very funny, but I would put the barney Miller hash episode or the newhart finale as better

@ It's not an opinion you offered. You invalidated all of the episode's awards by saying it was all hyperbole. That's criticism -- and yours goes against what critics and the public have stated. Pardon me if I became harsh, I get that way when people are acting stupid. So please put that in your pipe and smoke it.

I get it. My nephew has no sense of humor either. He also doesn’t like music. Very strange man.

They can at short distances. I've seen them fly across a narrow part of a river. 🦃🦃🦃
