The "fight for your life" part is probably my favorite part of the song. The other songs make you feel powerful when you hear it. This song though, it really feels like you're fodder compared to the other characters, completely relying on your companions to do the fighting for you. If they go down, you're really fighting for your life then, since you have to way to fight enemies 😅
The stylistic difference is really fitting for V's playstyle. Nero, Dante, and Vergil are aggressive and in-your-face the whole time, V just calmly walks while oppressing enemies with his summons
Love the drums in this song. Compared to Devil Trigger and Bury the Light, which work perfectly as standalone songs, I feel like Crimson Cloud definitely gets MORE of a boost from the in-game dynamic music system.
Fun fact, the vocals in the final version were from an early rough draft of the song. However, halfway through recording the cleaner final vocals Rachel apparently chose not to re-record the vocals, finding the rougher sound to be more fitting for the song. The composer gave her the go ahead and I think it works really well. EDIT - went back to the interview, Rachel is actually a co-writer on the song, not just the vocalist. And it wasn’t just any recording that she decided this, a bunch of people from capcom had flown out to see the final recording. She asked and they said sure, we trust you. So the vocals aren’t just a rough draft, they’re apparently from the very first demo of the song!
And with that, all the main themes have been completed. 😌 I actually first discovered this channel through your Bury The Light and Devil Trigger reactions and now we're here. ❤️ The Devil May Cry series has always been a series where fun and making you feel cool with its gameplay has always been priority. It's silly, over the top nature is really fun and endearing, and when it switches to something a little more serious even for just a moment it really hits, at least to me. V is a really great addition to the series. He's just a great character overall and when you get to know him a little more you realize that despite him seeming dark and brooding and mysterious he's actually just a big dweeb. 🤣 Crimson Cloud is great and is probably the most underrated of all the main characters themes. It's definitely a song that will grow on you over time. For me, after a while I found myself really digging it. Then again, I tend to like weird tracks, so... 🤣 Glad to hear you're playing DMC5! It's not only my favorite of the series but my favorite game of all time. Hope you enjoy it! 😁🤘
The one song I was waiting for you to react to. It definitely is like Subhuman, where in game it really works well for the character it represents. This song was one I slept on, but slowly grew to love the more I listened to.
It's going to sound funny saying after being the one to request this one, but.. The (Game Edit) version I heard of this from the soundtrack is more my preference, lol. Still, I really enjoy this song in the game.
The song hits differently while playing ^_^. Check out LittleVMills’ cover as it is epic rock/metal. Also, DMC is the Deadpool of Capcom with the silly parts layered over the backdrop of it’s otherwise serious story.
If I remember correctly, in an interview with the composer he said that the only sounds used to create the instrumental were samples of construction sites and heavy machinery
One of the more interesting bits of this track is just how quickly it conveys a lot of V's character. Like, up until you get control and his battle theme kicks in, he's been a sort of mastermind type that has more in common with Dracula than the other characters in the series, to the point that personally I was expecting something along the lines of a Castlevania boss theme, grand sweeping organs with a gothic sound. But as soon the song kicks in you get the idea that no, he's every bit a person in this universe that has similarities with Dante and Nero, he's just That Guy who's kind of a snob about it outwardly while secretly just waiting for someone to ask about his favorite bands so he can nerd out and show off all the t-shirts he got at concerts and the like.
As someone who's watched this video in its entirety, allow me to explain the reason why this song is called Crimson Cloud. But to do that I first need to go over the plot of every DMC game. It all starts with a man named Crim, and his newborn son Cloud...
Ooooh, here's some video game soundtrack requests: Borderlands 2 OSTs; -Boom Bewm and Captain Flynt's Boss Theme -The Dust Battle Theme -Lynchwood Battle Theme -Caustic Caverns Normal and Battle Theme -Bloodshot Ramparts Battle Theme Borderlands 3 OST's; -Mouthpiece's Boss Theme -Captain Traunt's Boss Theme -The Rampager's Boss Theme (Mainly the first phase) -Jakobs' Estate Battle Theme -Troy Calypso's Boss Theme (Again, mainly the first phase) -The Graveward's Boss Theme (Once more, mostly just the first phase)
to be fair, V as a new character and having an entirely different playstyle. the devs give better/easier style points for V (or any new character) V is the most blatant one so far, but i think it's a neat way to make players enjoy playing as that character a little for the first time
@@lifegrain6092I know we probably won't get him back again in 6 if that ever releases but I actually really enjoyed this different playstyle so maybe we'll get another summoner character who's a bit more polished
Pretty sure I disliked this song so much I swapped Vs battle theme with the Nelo Angelo theme from DMC1 for...uh....reasons...considering what he is and what his creatures represent. that should be vague enough.
This song grows on you.
It definitely does. I didn't like it so much the first time I heard it, but it definitely did grow on me after a couple levels with V.
It works really well when you’re actually fighting with V. I think the gameplay enhances the song even more than Devil Trigger.

That, and he can drop a nuke and just sit still all fight. He farms style like crazy. Smokin' Sexy.

Mostly because playing as V means after 5 seconds and pressing DT once you instantly hear SAVIOR BLOODSTAIN HELLFIRE SHADOW
Didn't think I'd like this song but I said "screw it why not" and it grew on me
I love this track. I feel like it fly's under the radar a bit.
Same!

Have they ever released a cut of the song with the "final" vocals? I'd be interested to hear it
@@ExaltedUriel I don’t think so. Like I said, they stopped halfway through the recording.

Good stuff. Glad you're enjoying the game 👍
Been watching your DMCV playthrough, and it's been a blast man haha. Glad to see you having fun with the game.
V rules man.
It's going to sound funny saying after being the one to request this one, but..
The (Game Edit) version I heard of this from the soundtrack is more my preference, lol.
Still, I really enjoy this song in the game.
Ah, yes.
The battle theme for Kylo Car Denier.
His hollow bones struggle to carry the weight of his frail Slovenian body
Just so you know, Bury The Light is Vergils theme, and as such comes with his dlc.. So the only way to hear it is playing virgil :)
I feel like lyrics, "fight for your life" really fit V.
Tust me, it will fit
Favorite base game theme

V is a delightfully weird character
This is the edgiest dmc music ever😂 It’s like a very high production afterschool band
If I remember correctly, in an interview with the composer he said that the only sounds used to create the instrumental were samples of construction sites and heavy machinery
This song work incredibly well in-game. You try to look as cool and powerfull as possible with you character being as unfazed as possible

well edward hus and wife does crosspath with Mick gordon during killer instinct production.
I like this song, but I was expecting more even back before release

Never surrender next!

Niiiice, not my request for DMC songs, but DMC music is always great to see
I didn't like this song at first. And then I hit S style with V a couple of times.

You need to hear some of FF16's music. Ifrit, bahamut and phoenix especially have god tier music and I know you like FF music.
Is this the last DMC song or just DMC5?
He said he not readin comments. Tell him how cute he is! 😳
Im yet to experience the game but im almost sure he plays this one to prepare for FF16 (which i cant play because no ps5 😅)
Ah, the song that spoiled the game's biggest twist
definately did not like Crimson Cloud initially. but when you get into its world it becomes decent
Ah my least favourite track in all of DMC. But my favourite character, honestly.
Pretty sure I disliked this song so much I swapped Vs battle theme with the Nelo Angelo theme from DMC1 for...uh....reasons...considering what he is and what his creatures represent. that should be vague enough.
