"People like you don't get to insult people like me, you get to be eternally grateful". - Margaret ate with that one. ❤❤
no crumbs left😄
That felt good to hear somehow for my very, very broken heart.
relatable, i would have had the same urge to insult him. but in the end it shows a good bit of entitlement and bad character on her side.
@@angelinajoanie Left not one!!! 😂🫰🏿🫰🏿🫰🏿

He's darn lucky Margaret didn't challenge him to a duel, because she'd have left him with more than a flesh wound.
She'd have left him a soprano. It's too bad that her prognosis for his future was also a prognosis for her own.
no she wouldnt shes a woman. hahahaha
No one messes with Margaret.
😂😂
No kidding, she'd grown up hunting at Balmoral every summer. I don't know how much shooting she personally did, but I imagine she was at least taught how to handle a firearm.
"A duel is a duel, and I stepped up to the mark." Those are perfect words for a headstone.
Or opening arguments. Whatever.
"Take a look at this face. A picture of disappointment and disgust."
Vanessa Kirby did a magnificent job as Margaret.
The dragging and whimpering 😂
The contrast between his narrative and reality is hilarious.
It's the arrogance for me. The assumption that he can tell her that story, and she won't even be angry. That she'll just accept his infidelity. As though he's such a prize worth keeping, that it's worth putting up with that level of disrespet. To assume that ANY woman would be willing to tolerate that is astounding, but to assume that SHE would be willing to tolerate it is borderline insanity.
PS: there's always a smart alec who replies to any comment I make on this show with a snarky, "ummmmmmm... you know this scene is fiction, right?" Yes. I know. You can analyse fictional characters, even if they are based on real people ;)
Vanessa Kirby is nothing short of fantastic! What a great actress! What a scene! She owns her rage full out! Huge fan of hers!
I almost married a drunk too. I would have ended up being his lifelong caregiver. And the same thing would have happened to Princess Margaret if she married that fool.
Margaret was a drunk herself 😂
no, she just married a liar
I agree however i also want to mention that Margret is definitelythe bigger drunk.😂
All 3 actresses who played Princess Margaret were excellent, but Vanessa Kirby was by far my favorite.
Yes true
And the hottest
@@cjb4933 Very Pretty Girl
I thought this was Vanessa Kirby
Same!
and THAT is why Vanessa Kirby is an Oscar nominated actress
She had a voice of venom and beauty to match. If looks could kill that's little boy was never the same after.
The direction of this scene is SUBLIME! She enters as the true Princess she is, regal, tiara, gown, commanding, taking control of the room all while he is a bloody, drunk mess, stationary on the bed. Immaculately showcasing how so far out of his league she is!
A key detail here is Colin's loyalty to Margaret. You hear his name often when she talks about her party.
Margaret was known to have a tongue that could cut like a sword...all things considered...that sword she had could have had him killed but he got off with a flesh wound
Im literally obsessed with her gown
Oh how I wish I had those words when I caught my fiancé cheating.
Judging by the way the other gentlemen were acting, I’d say Mr Keen is lucky they didn’t just shoot him without bothering with the duel
I like that they felt they had to protect Margaret’s honour even though she wasn’t around
She would’ve made a great Amy Whinehouse. Stunning actress lord of emotion
would have?
@@animegraveyard776 in a film…..
True. Well spotted. Now I can't unsee it!
Vanessa Kirby looked so good in that dress
her voice is SO powerful! beautiful!
He's a piece of work.... 🙄
The thumbnail and title match together so well 😂😂
Jesus Christ, Vanessa Kirby is a revelation.
This cast and first seasons were the best!
Vanessa K was brilliant! 🙌🏽
I have never heard of someone laughing until they spit.
This scene is so very... British. The accents, the posh upper-class vibes, the manner of speech... perfect.
He's faking, yes? They beat him up because they thought he wasn't good enough. Nothing to do with another woman.
it was a mix of both. The guy was so accepted as likeable by all the pretty girls of London society that it annoyed the men, who saw this plain faced, flamboyant guy who won not just a princess, but apparently all the pretty girls too.
😢😢😢
I don't think they'd show the story he wasn't telling Margaret if he was making the whole thing up. We clearly saw that he didn't "step up to the mark". Also, why would he make up a story about another man fighting for her honor? Granted he probably knew already he was in the doghouse at that point.
@@dan_38 The opposite of "Flamboyant" is boring. Basically anyway, the other guys were jealous because he had something they didn't.
Charisma, charm and and intrigue. He's not a good person though.
@@animegraveyard776 He didn't have any charisma or charm. He became popular as soon as he was rumored to be Margaret's lover.
The video description has a funny discrepancy. Apparently Princess Margaret nearly married the actor Will Keen.
The duel scene works a lot better without the music!
"A flesh wound"-- I get that reference
She's beautiful, intelligent, and a freaking princess to boot. what an idiot to get arrogant and fumble that
Wow! Vanessa Kirby played Margaret with amazing strength and beauty!
She was My favorite in the series
God DAMN girl. Get him!
"People like you don't get to insult people like me." This is the obscenity of the royal family. Some sense of exceptionalism by birth right, which has been institutionalized by British society and government. Ironically, SHE is the one who spent 40 years in misery.
Ummm you do know that this is fabricated script. Perhaps they do feel this way but I doubt if those words were ever uttered in real life.
JFC. He's the bad guy in this scene, you do get that, right?
Well, in her case, it isn't just a "sense" of exceptionalism. She WAS exceptional by birthright. Even if not by merit. Whether we like it or not, the UK is a monarchy, and she was its princess. Sister of the Queen, senior part of ine of the wealthiest and most important families in the world. Beloved by millions. Doesn't matter if she earned that position or not - she had it either way. Anyone who married her inevitably married up because they'd have more privilege, prestige, and power than before by being her husband. That's what she meant by "People like you don't get to insult people like me. They get to be eternally grateful." By insulting her, he threw away the greatest opportunity of his life (considering this really happened because in real life, their romance was only speculation and was never affirmed publicly). Plus, let's not forget that even though the royal family doesn't officially have political power, they're still influential, and she could've made his life a living hell if she wanted to. Ruin his career, have him excluded from social life or the like.
@NYCBlonde they're both terrible people
That is neither the actor Will Keen nor the character Michael Adeane, who was the Queen's private secretary.
I adore the style of this era
The description is wrong. That is Billy Wallace played by Tom Durant-Pritchard.
The actress for Margaret is beautiful
Beautiful dress on a beautiful woman.
If this man escaped HRH, it's for that he should be eternally grateful. She was a spiteful, cruel, and needlessly malicious drunk. The way she's portrayed in The Crown is the most fictitious aspect of the whole storyline.
Even Llewellyn escaped.
That's not Will Keen (as per the description).
That’s the crown Kate wore during her wedding
no, she didnt wear a crown
Correct, the Cartier Halo tiara. This is an excellent replica.
Who???
Ok so in the title of this video it mentions Claire Foy, Matt Smith yet in the description is says Vanessa Kirby , Michael Adeane . Which is it because I'll tell ya that is NOT Matt Smith's voice , while I see similarity in face there is considerable difference.
The names in the title are referring to the season of the Crown (by stating who played Elizabeth and Philip), not the actors shown in the clip.
if u watch the bloody show u would know that matt smith plays prince phillip, claire and matt have top billing as the shows main stars in s1 and 2 hence their name being mentioned after the crown
@@angelat5554 referring to the people in this specific scene but of course that goes over the top of your head like a fly over water.

Okay I’ll watch the crown again 🙄😂
Duels should still be allowed today should both parties agree
They likely still happen, the aristocracy live in their own little world policed by themselves. Every time you hear of a duke or a lord dying in a skiing accident or drowning in the Mediterranean it's probably a cover for losing a duel.
"It's just a fleche wound."
The little home wrecker had it coming.
🤣🤣 out of my way lol
He was 20 years older than her, and there is no evidence that the two were ever engaged!
He was 3 years older than her you nitwit, and even though there was no official engagement it was strongly reported as a rumour in the press so whatever drama Netflix can gather it will assume rumours are true

who was Will Keen?
Margarte was a loose cannon. She was often brought back to palace out of her head...by taxi or police. Big druggey also.

Billy Wallace

Love her, dress is beautiful but bust is a " bust" doesn't look good.
She looked magnificent.
😮😮😂
Venessa Kirby❤
Her gown is absolutely stunning
In fairness Kirby could wear a potato sack and make it look good.
THIS is what good directing and use of costume looks like. The strength of this monologue is amplified by the choice to have her wearing a full gown and tiara. He’s face to face with everything she is and represents and what he has just lost access to
“His face to face with everything …he has just lost access to [due to his behavior]”
Damned right! Sometimes that’s what’s called for.
“I'm not used to the idea of being a beau, much less a catch. It seems to have gotten to my head, rather. Had a bit of a fumble at Blenheim. Rather a beauty.”
His pompous intonation & cavalier demeanor really makes these words sting. A Bit of a “Fumble” is quite a euphemism for cheating. What a great scene. Emotional yet humorous. I haven’t watched the Crown sans some clips however the writing & acting seem top notch along with the dialogue being very clever. Though I don’t think this show is really my cup of tea, as they say, but I’m starting to get intrigued. It’s pulling me in so I might have to binge it.
“ this is what the next 40 years of your life will look like ..” hoooo man!
"Wait, did you say he died in a duel? Who dies in a duel?"
If only Butterscotch Horseman's duel went this way instead lol.
This actress is brilliant , she should play Elizabeth Taylor 👌
She sure could pick 'em.
It's almost good that she's arrogant so you don't feel sorry for her and can just enjoy it
In the real world, who knows if I would have adored Margaret, but what I’ve seen (not just The Crown, all media), I love her. 💙
Probably you wouldn't, people say she was very nasty with nearly anyone she considered beneath her. But that from some safe distance, she was just charming and hilarious.
My mother always felt sorry for Margaret and thought she should have been allowed to marry Townsend. Over the years, though, the more she read about the princess, the less regard she had for her.
Margaret could be petty, spiteful and rude, even before she met Townsend. When, years later, my mother read that he said he had "dodged a bullet" when the engagement was called off, she said he was right.
❤Vanessa Kirby❣️
I CANNOT break myself from this show! The acting is magnificent, but plot is completely inane and ludicrous!!
I love her accent. I like the way she pronounces words. She's also so gorgeous.
Nobody was as fabulous as HRH princess Margaret
nonsense. She was a horrible person
@@glen7318why?
She is magnificent.
It was sad how the talented editing and beautiful composition of the series was completely absent from the last two seasons.
BTW: Vanessa Kirby's voice, beauty, and elegance make my heart melt.
It seems as though the sisters in the royal family are bad ass. Margaret, Anne… I expect great things from Charlotte. (I actually feel her brother will step aside and give her the crown or she’ll do something magnificent and gain the reputation of her grandmother Diana).
@nylouts it has been said that in the future, Princess Charlotte would most likely be the next Princess Royal. It's a title given to only the eldest daughter of the reigning monarch and once she is crowned the Princess Royal, it will be a title she'll have for the rest of her life. But Princess Charlotte can only become Princess Royal when 1)Prince William becomes king and he would have to be the one to give it to her and 2) when Princess Anne dies. In other words, I do agree with you the women in the royal family seem to be bad asses in an elegant and classy way
dont be so ridiculous
@@glen7318 Thinking Charlotte will fall in line with the great women in her family is ridiculous? What a sad soul you are lol

'You'll laugh til you spit' - this actor plays posho very well.

What kind of man cries like a baby whilst in a duel with someone e?
Someone who isn't putting up a front about how they feel, someone who was forced into doing something they didn't want to do.
Someone who understandably doesn't want to get hit or fatally wounded by a gun. By a bullet.
A coward
A skeeert one!!!! 😂
I don't understand what's happening? He got bullied by some men into a duel. He's trying to save face by concocting a story before a woman he ...likes/loves? ...and she's mad at him for some reason? Wtf is happening?
She’s mad at him because he slept with another woman while he was engaged to her. That’s what he means by having a ‘fumble’ with the actress at Blenheim. Her friend Colin finds out and challenges him to a duel. He lies about his courage during the duel, but the duel is real.
Also, she knows him well enough to know that he is lying about his courage during the duel. She is also embarrassed that her friends know he’s a cheater and a coward. So she breaks off the engagement.
Yeah, it goes to certain men who think they’re so damned charming they believe they can finesse their way out of anything with just a few smooth lines.
I’ve had relationships like this, where your kindness and patience is construed as liberty to do as one pleases. So gallingly juvenile.
At a certain point, you realize you’ve overextended yourself and that none of your grace and benevolence was appreciated.
Her strength and dignity contrasted with his lame bungling really drives home the point that notwithstanding his “desirability,” he can be dispensed with just like any other man.
What a loser. She should’ve dumped him.
...she did
Would you please explain to me what really they are depicting? It looks like they forced him to do that.
He cheated on her with an actress, and some of her guy friends found out and were mad he dishonored her. So one of them challenged him to a duel. He accepted but didn't think they would actually do it but was dead wrong.
That's why they are dragging him out there, and him being a coward cries the whole time. So not only do her friends know he cheated on her, but he is also a coward with no sense of honor or loyalty. Which is why she broke off their engagement.
