    My godfather, who was used to be my middle school vice-principal from the 2007-08 school year had got a 2018 Accord in Still Night blue two weeks ago. He told me that his F-150 V8 wasn't giving him great fuel mileage when traveling from his house in Orangeburg, SC to Gray Collegiate Academy(he's a principal there) in West Columbia, SC. His new Accord had Adidas-esque cloth seats but not sure what trim level his came with. Thanks for posting!

    The USB ports in the back seats are a $150 dealer installed option - mandatory if you have kids. A heated wheel is also a dealer install. It's about $500.

    • @clairekennedy8767

    • @davids1816

      I thought it was a little odd not to just include them but if you were going to get an accord, the extra cost is less than rubber floor mats - so yeah nbd. I'd absolutely have bought one if I could have gotten AWD.

    • @nyongyon3328
      @nyongyon3328 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The problem with sedans is that low legroom and low head room people with 6 feet or above find difficult to sit in rear seats, for example a guy wants to drive few hundred kilometres with his male friends having average height of 6 can't do it comfortably. Also seating position is so close to ground that you do not feel dominant on highways in a way of feeling confidant.
      As people age they may also feel uncomfortable to get into the car easily because of that. That's why families prefer roomy SUVs and Crossovers for same price.

    What's the rational for only offering the manual in one trim, the Sport? Why not try and boost the take rate and offer it across all trims? Doesn't make sense to me to go through the certification effort for only one trim.

    • @paulsalvo235
      @paulsalvo235 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      This would only attract 1-3% of people, solely because people either dont want to/ how to drive a manual. Or since it all trims, it would be harder for them to keep it in production, while it would give more choices people would go lower trims like lx and sport vs the touring trim. Because a manual is usually associated now with sporty, or really basic

    • @paulsalvo235
      @paulsalvo235 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Look at mazda, they offered manuals of the 6 since 2016 of all trims then it dwindled into the sport trim, then it vanished simply due to poor sales.

      Only 3 in the midsized class have that option -- Fusion, Legacy and next model year's Nissan Altima.
      However, I can understand why you would want all-wheel drive. Not necessarily as an all-weather vehicle, but worried with 252 hp and front wheel drive only, there could be some torque steer. I think Honda took care of it with 2.0L turbo-4 with the Civic Type R which has over 50+ more hp than this Accord. This is de-tuned for the Accord, and will come in next model year's Acura RDX crossover. Also, with the de-tuned engine, it'll take good ol 87, the Civic Type R and Si need the good stuff.

      Norm T great idea. Although I would opt for the wagon. Looks great. Warranty is less of a concern for me because I only do 24 mos leases.

    The exterior is indeed ugly but all Honda has to do is to make it rear wheel drive and I will buy it in a heartbeat.

    These regular Accords are so ugly. Honda should have released a GEN-9 Accord Euro for the enthusiasts.

    I believe there are some downside feathers to the 2018 Accord that Steve neglected to mention.
    To name just a few, Steve didn't mention that the alloy wheels stick out further than the tires so when you're parallel parking and you get too close to the curb, instead of brushing the tires you damage the expensive alloy wheels. That's only the beginning. Whenever you go in for service, they'll want to rotate your tires for free. Of course! That will put another wheel in position to be damaged while parking. They’re not so dumb. Alloy wheels are around $200+ each.
    This one is for men. With a suit or sports jacket on, try to connect your seat belt. The connector is down between the seat and the center counsel so it’s very hard to do, bad design.
    Be careful doing straight in perpendicular parking. Chances are very good that you will scrape the bottom of your car on the curb before the front wheels touch the curb. And by all means don't bump into anything more rigid than a beach ball. The whole front end is plastic (even the parts that guard the Honda Sensing and the intercooler). Are you surprised that Steve didn't mention any of this? I'm not.
    One more thing, and if you don’t laugh you have no sense of humor. Did you notice the speedometer? It goes to 160 mph. The car’s engine is red-lined at around 100 mph. I think it has to do with Toyota’s speedometer that only goes to 140 mph. I wonder if the designers figured the Honda owner will get more girls with a higher number on the speedometer. You should ask.
    Thanks, Steve, for the tour.

    I am not too sure the TLX could "drive circles around the Accord". Acceleration is near identical, Accords interior is better, Accord has better gas mileage, TLX handles better. The Accord also has more room. Truth is, for what the Accord is supposed to be (a family hauler), it is almost too good.
