This car literally looks like the working man's Audi A7. Absolutely gorgeous. I think Toyota finally knocked it out of the park with the new Camry, but the Accord just has this excellent classiness to it. Fantastic all-rounder.
In the sides, I agree it resembles an Audi a7 in a way. I don't like the rear and the front at all. But either way it has amazing tech so it's good for anyone who wants that in a car. I love the Camry cause it looks more like a sports car than the Accord. The accord styles aren't boring, I think it's elegant and professional- work related car for people who wants a little classy ride with some awesome tech. Wish Honda just completely redesign the Accord so the front and rear will look as awesome as the sides are and they need to change things up like what toyota are doing. I liked the older Accord better honestly but it's just me hope everyone has an awesome day.
I bought my Accord 3 weeks ago in this same color Still night Pearl and the compliments I receive on it are out of this world. I had some lady follow me and flag me down just to let me know she loved it. It just stands out. I of course had to get tint put on mine now it’s just one fly vehicle! I absolutely love it!
Great review!! My wife and I test drove the Camry XSE V6 and the 2019 Honda Accord Sport 2.0T. Toyota does offer more interior color options but after the test drive comparison. Honda won her over. She was able to get custom red leather seats with black stitching installed by Katskinz before delivery. It still cost waaaaay less than the Camry we test drove. Crystal Black Pearl Honda Accord Sport 2.0T, with red interior, ambient lighting, and Accord badges on front fenders. She loves it.
I just drove my friends new ‘19 Accord sport 2.0. Loved it. Very comfortable and powerful. Honda simplicity. I think I’m gonna sell my ‘07 BMW 530i that’s turning into a money pit.
I had a '07 530xi that began to have way too many problems, that outweighed it's value. Sold it, got a Civic, but really considered the Accord Sport as an option. My local dealer was just trying to lure me into paying more for it tho. So I went to another dealer and haggled to get the civic on a great deal. Today I saw an accord in the same color as mine (sport trim) parked next to my civic. Seriously thought about the accord interior, definitely way better than the civic. Tho still the civic exterior design is more better imo.
Raiti's Rides One of the worst looking rear ends Honda has ever made.(subjective opinion of course and should have used TLX inspired taillights) Front and side profile is great but that’s it. The reason why Honda/Acura etc are doing the “fake” exhaust tips have to do with keeping the chrome from getting dirty and some manufacturers claim it improves airflow. It does aide in keeping NVH to a minimum along with the frame improvements using NVH materials by injecting foam-like insulation into various underbody components.
Last year, my brother purchased a brand new 2018 Honda Accord 2.0 EX-L with upgraded OEM parking sensor package. The design is pretty modern/trendy with fit/finish that is just superb for the price range!!! The 2.0t, in my humble opinion...pulls like a fright train...unbelievable!!! The only downside is there is no 3rd party audio to compliment the infotainment system for this fine vehicle. Overall, this is a fantastic daily driver without the financial mistake when compared to other vehicles on the market.

No one really bought them, and for good reason. Don't get me wrong, I liked the Accord coupes, but why get a front-wheel-drive coupe when you can get a more powerful rear-wheel-drive Mustang or Camaro for a similar price? The Accord coupe (and the Altima coupe and Toyota Solara; back when they were around) were massive compromises on wheels. You sacrifice the packaging and efficiency that the FWD format offers for a little more sport... leaving you with less sport than a traditional RWD coupe and less practicality than a FWD sedan. So what's the point?
@@mateuszmrozewski9705 I had the 2008 accord coupe V6. Fast, great styling ( their best ever imo), and still very roomy inside and pretty big truck space. Mileage was pretty decent. I don't think a Camaro or mustang would hit those balanced notes.
I have a 2018 and I luv it. Theirs a few features that surprised me. One is when listening to music while driving it sounds low but when u pick up speed it gets louder and when u stop for a light it lowers. Another feature is when u have the a.c on and it starts raining the ac automatically warms up so that u won’t freeze or get sick when entering the car wet. Another is the windshield wipers. When u have it on the first setting and u raise the speed on it, when u start driving it wipes depending on the speed your going and when u stop it goes at a normal wipe. I learn something new everyday with the Honda Accord sport 1.5L l. Awesome car

I can answer that for you. I own a 2018 Accord 2.0t sport and it out-performs almost every other sport sedan I’ve gone against. This car has a lot more power than people realize. Honda for life! 😍
River Denair The reason why the accord touring is economy is because it’s anywhere from $25-$35,000 less than any of the competition with more standard safety features.
My first Honda experience was a 91 Accord EX coupe 5sp. I loved that car. I just bought my son a 16 Civic. Now I'm not sure why I ever went away from Honda.
It’s fast lol. I love driving my accord. I have 23k on now and I just love the engine and the power it’s amazing. Build very well and nothing is cheap in it. It’s soooo fun to drive. Yes I agree the arm rest needs a little bit more padding but it’s not horrible. I got used to it. I would recommend this car. My accord has more features than my Friend’s 2019 Acura lol.

I own this exact car, color and everything ( still night pearl ) and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS CAR! Dope daily, looks amazing, big back seat, huge trunk and tons of smiles when you smash that gas pedal. Smooth and fast 10at transmission with a balanced ride in the corners. For the price and what it is, it definitely exceeds expectations. I test drove the Xse Camry and immediately went back to the Honda dealership and said I want that Accord.
Me too! I have the exact same car and color. I went to the Toyota Dealership and test drove a Camry and I could tell it just wasn’t it. Luckily they had a used 2018 on the lot and I drove it. Immediately after I went to Honda and Purchased a brand new 2019 Accord Sport. I don’t come from a Honda or Toyota background but in my humble opinion there’s no way someone can choose the Camry without sitting in a Accord. It’s literally night and day and the way it handles and drives is what swayed my decision.
Had a 2018 Blue Streak Camry XSE, loved the styling but was not happy with the 4cyl and its 8speed transmission. Traded it for a white pearl 2.0 Sport. The 10spd is buttery smooth. More features in the sport. Remote start Apple Carplay and Android. And the availability to tune that Turbo!
Hello Joe. Fantastic review of a fantastic iconic car! If you could go back in time, say 15-20 years and bring this 2019 Honda Accord with you, people would think this was some new $80K car from the Germans or a new upstart manufacturer. This Honda is incredible! Honda is incredible. Why spend $50,000 or more on a sedan when for less than $30K all in you can drive one of these. It’s amazing to me how much R&D Honda puts into this Accord every four years or so. They constantly keep the car fresh, up to date and vibrant. They don’t resort to crazy discounts to move product. People buy this car because they want to not because of some fire sale discount (GM) we are looking at you. Honda still builds several full lines of Sedans. Yes CARS and go figure people buy them in droves. It’s a huge shortsighted mistake by the manufacturers that have killed off their car lines in favor of crossovers and SUV’s.
Looked seriously at the Accord 2.0L turbo (Touring), the Mazda6 2.5L turbo (Signature) and the Camry V6 (XSE) last year. For me it was a close contest but the Accord outpointed the Mazda6 overall followed by the Camry. The Mazda was top in exterior style but the Honda had many other advantages, the most important of which was the excellent 2.0L turbo. Anyone who mourns the demise of the V6 Accord should give the turbo4 a closer look. It's simply an awesome engine/drive train combination.
Great summary. I also love the Mazda6 (huge Mazda fanboy in general), but the Accord just hits every point you want in a modern sedan perfectly. Amazing packaging, great efficiency, classy design (looks like an Audi A7!), and the drivetrain proves that with the right manufacturer, you can make a 4-banger pretty much as smooth and desirable as a traditional V6.
From someone who drives a Mercedes and is loyal to Mercedes, I honestly would buy and drive this car. It’s classy, sexy and catches your attention. Very rare in cars like the Accord and Camry. So I’m very impressed.

I love this color! Raiti would make a great teacher. Read 2021 reviews in Car and Driver, Motor Trend, KBB, Edmunds, and U.S. News , to see why it was rated 1 among midsize sedans. Most people have personal preferences. I can find design flaws on the Accord, Camry, Mazda 6, Sonata and Altima but Accord has a perfect mix of performance, reliability, infotainment system, comfort, space, plus excellent feedback to steering.

I simply don't trust Honda and turbos. Not yet. The Accord vs Camry XSE V6 is a good matchup. They are roughly the same power and speed wise, but the Camry has dual injection in their engine. Not sure if the Honda does or not. For those that don't know, dual injection means direct and port injection. That will ensure your valves don't get coked up. The Toyota will probably have the longer lasting engine. The Camry also has quad exhaust tips that are actually functional. WTF was Honda thinking? Styling is subjective and both look great to me. You honestly can't go wrong with either car but I'd pick the Camry. And this is coming from a Honda guy. Too many unknowns (to me) with the Honda engine and reliability and small quirks like the exhaust.
Why be down the turbos when it's been find so far other then that CRV issue but that has nothing to do with that turbo engine. As for the Camry, yeah it looks nice but I bet it's hella boring to drive vs these new Accords. Also btw, those quad exhausts on the Camry are semi fake as only one on each side is real while the other next to it is fake aka a place holder. So not fully functional if you ask me.
I am quite the opposite on the subject of turbocharged engines. We own one on our 17 Ford Escape. It has the twin scroll 2.0 Ecoboost. It lays down the power and gets semi decent fuel economy. Honda makes great engines for a range of products. I believe their first vehicle with a turbo was the Honda City (that didn't come to the States) in the early/mid 80's. I don't think they put another turbo on for close to three decades since that car. In the meantime, they perfected the four cylinder engine. I had the pleasure of driving/owning two of them with the K20 in the 8th generation Si and the K24 in the 9th generation Si. Their 2.0 turbo engine hasn't been as much of an issue as the 1.5 (there are way more 1.5 engines in production), but they will figure out the issues and get it right. When they do, I'm going to buy another Si. BTW, every single direct inject engine has oil dilution issues/blowby. It's the nature of the engine. Some manufacturers have been better at calming the issue down than others. There is no 100% cure for blowby. Even port injected engines have a little bit. But, Honda can do better and I see they are making positive steps to help the situation. And as for the other comment about the exhaust outlets, it's splitting hairs. I know a quad exhaust outlet doesn't mean there are four pipes running directly from the headers. The Camry at least has functional outlets on both sides. Again, both are great cars and you can't go wrong with either.

I think turbos have thir places, but the flagship accord deserves a v6. Smooth, reliable, sounds better, and differentiates it from other Hondas, now fuck it, just put a 2.0t in the hypothetical nsx.
Test drove both the Camry Xse v6 and Accord Sport 2.0t. I ended up purchasing the Accord. The Accord was overall more fun to drive. Performance was a no brainer, the Accord would destroy the Camry in a race even with less HP. Accord also has better handling and weighs less, better infotainment system including android auto which Camry doesn't even have. It was also 4k cheaper than the Camry.

Not everyone buys a car to race. Some prefer comfort, reliability over performance. Plus here in Arizona summers Honda's A/C stink, all of them. I 've had too many Honda's /Acura's and won't buy them again because of the lousy A/C's. . Toyota's , Nissan freeze you out. When it's over 100 degree's it makes a huge difference.
That model was on my shopping list. I didnt drive it, but I think if I drove that Blue, or the Red one I would've bought this car. I had a 98 Prelude & an 04 Accord EX-L V6 (everything but NAV) 3.0 liter, 240 hp... I love that car. The only thing which really wears is tires if you drive it enthusiasticly. Like Ive said I bought the EcoBoost Mustang 17 in Red. I wanted a 17 Pearl White Q50 AWD, but I drove the Mustang first. I know you occasionally do comparison reviews. Previously I would've told you I preferred Supercharged Engines with the instantaneous shot of power. Now the electrified models have that. All my favorite models are going Turbo. A) EcoBoost Mustang (2.3) B) Q50 300hp Sport AWD (3.0) C) Accord 2.0T 10 spd Auto D) 2019 Altima VC Turbo (2.0) The Turbos have become mainstream.
@Michael C. I had a pearl 98 prelude SH crashed it oops still have my 01 prelude SH the accord 2.0T and ten speed transmission are totally amazing it blows the 01 out of the water and the technology improvements are amazing!!! You should definitely test drive it just so you know first hand!!!
It would've been nice to mention that a 6 spd is available through the review, people need to know this before they're gone forever! Not only does a manual make you a better driver because you have to pay more attention to what your doing but it also saves you money as autos cost more (in most cases)

I have noticed that the newer Hondas do not appear friendly for aftermarket radio head unit equipment. This is just an observation and not a complaint.
Chad Chapman agreed 1000% (currently me with my poor performing expensive sound system I installed) the typical audio control LC line is barely giving me what I want. You’d have to go for a true DSP(JL audio fix for example) to get the integration you’d need for this type of car with its complex computer systems. It’s basically a computer on wheels this generation(and beyond).
I have a 2013 Ford Fusion with an ecoboost 2.0 turbo 4. It has 133k miles on it so far and drives amazingly. And I’m the second owner. Idk about the Honda’s but turbo 4s aren’t that bad if you take care of them

Great review. I would ask for an actual shifter not the electronic shifter. I think Honda did a good job with the design, I feel there are many traditional Honda elements. They should bring back the chime when you start the car like their cars from the 90's. Raiti's Rides, excellent job!

Great blog as always;! you cannot beat that car for the money and performance with huge aftermarket support you can get well over 400 horsepower and 400 foot pounds of torque for under two grand . The aftermarket support is phenomenal PRL k-pro hondataPRL already has a stock 1.5 Civic SI running 1120s on stock internals and a stock turbo the possibilities on that car with a type r motor or a limitless. You can't say that about Toyota Camry Mazda 6 Kia or Hyundai they just don't have the aftermarket support that Honda is famous for or the quality. You have to pay $6,000 more to get the same options in the Camry or the Mazda to get a slower and in Toyotas case worst handling car

That's because it came out way sooner and they sell to car rental places. But everyone knows Camry's last forever, that's why they buy them. I have 129k on my 2012 Camry. Never kept a car with this many miles. I haven't put any money into the car, just oil changes. How to they do that?
Honda or Toyota you can't go wrong in my opinion and that color is awesome. But if it's going to or supposed to compete with the CAMRY it should have more HP Camry V6 XSE HAS 301 or 305 HP again Honda or Toyota you can't go wrong, keep those GREAT Car reviews coming in

I busted out laughing several time on this one when you said staple headlights... then the vacuum cleaner exhaust tips. Seats like napkins from Red Lobster.. Econ mode to grow a little tree...and save the planet. Rear armrest... soft like a trampoline. Its a great car that will sell like crazy but it sure could have been so much better with only some small changes.
If I wanted a larger car again, I would consider this Accord as is. Engine is smooth, though I am trying to get away from turbos. This color pops, which is why it would be my first pick here, on the Civic Sport Sedan, or HR-V Sport. The styling is great, especially with the black chrome. A front airdam/splitter can always be added, but it's just another thing to damage. I heard about the wheel thefts. I wonder if those had any locks on them, and if so, was it the factory accessories lock, or if the other design that looks more like wheel lug nuts would prevent or reduce thefts. I would even consider getting 4 sets of locks and put one set each all four wheels and just one wheel lug nut on each wheel, totally opposite of the norm, and hide the 4 keys with extra wheel lug nuts, put them in the trunk spare tire area. This extra effort may prevent the wheel theft problem, but be more of a hassle when working with the wheels. The taillight design is okay, but like you said, no diffuser, and I hate anytime cars have those fake exhaust port tips. The seats for the Sport 2.0L should be all leather, or alcantera/suede. They should have a CD player and auxiliary audio input jack on the Sport trim and up infotainment systems. One TH-camr reported having to replace a defective, malfunctioning push button shifter assembly. A design that may be a potential widespread problem. A prime example of What happens when you try to fix something not broken. The clean design and less obtrusive is negated in a critical operational and safety system. They should contract one of the major shifter manufacturers such as B & M or Hurst to design an aftermarket replacement shifter. I haven't driven this, or the Camry, and know the Accord is more spacious inside, but I tend to prefer the new Camry SE, XSE, or TRD, with more, normally aspirated horsepower, and all the other goodies, especially on the TRD, albeit, I know pricey. These Accords, have been, and will continue to sell well, even when SUVs and trucks are the trend, and this has lots of cargo utility, but they need to address these issues. Maybe the Accord needs a Trunk Monkey, too. I never had any problems of theft with my silver 2000 loaded Chevy Impala LS. That was my best, most trouble free car, even more reliable than my 2006 Impala SS.

I have had my Accord 2.0T Manual for about a month now, and I am amazed at the car I got for the money. Fast, fun to drive, and I got a manual!!. Plus, Honda quality. This car is an incredible bargain for what you are getting.
Do you still have the Accord? I'm trying to decide if I should just go with a 2017 Civic Si or even a cheaper 2017 Fit EX for now, the only approval i can get is through Vroom right now at 700 a month *OUCH*.... is it worth it? Thanks in advance
@@cjinreallife I now have a 2022 Civic Si. I loved the Accord and was sad to see it go but my lease was up and time to move on. The Si is great. It handles considerably better than the Accord but is no where near as powerful. Accord is also much quieter. Both are great cars. It just depends on what your priorities are. $700 a month is way steep!!
All you have to do is spend $700 and get the hondata or k-pro and you get 280 horsepower and 388 foot pounds of torque and that's nothing elseif you get a front pipe downpipe midpipe change the intercooler on it you're well over 400
You arent over 400 by changing out a few cooling and exhaust pieces. You will need a larger turbo, injectors, pistons, and the 6 speed because I own the 10 speed dct and it's not meant for performance at all
It’s the old adage, you ride in a Toyota, you drive a Honda. Both are reliable and good cars however if you like to drive you get an Accord or a Civic.
Scott Burke I so agreed with you since 2001 but I tried out the 2019 Camry se today and it felt so much better than Honda. I’m still in disbelief that I’m considering a Camry.
As I understand it, it's bolt pattern matches older Accords so there's a huge market to steal those rims for. I'm planning on a Accord Hybrid Touring and they're on 17"s and I still plan on putting aftermarket wheel locks on it.
Another great review! As you pointed out for ~$31K, the Accord Sport 2.0T offers more than the Camry XSE. I just stumbled across this video which reminded me of my own quandary of choosing between the 2019 Accord Sport 1.5T and the Camry SE. At about $4500 less than the 2.0T you reviewed here, the $26K 2019 1.5T is clearly missing a lot. In fact it was missing so much the $26K Camry SE was a slam dunk in my opinion, heck you couldn't add ANY factory option to the 1.5T Sport, including blind spot monitoring/rear cross traffic alert or a sun roof. The Camry SE offered BSM/RCTA as a ~$600 option and a small sunroof for ~$900. The base SE came with a 2.5L engine and 8-speed transmission instead of the 1.5L turbo (with oil dilution problems) and a CVT. Honda really should have offered factory options to the 1.5, sheesh at the very least a $600 BSM/RCTA option like Toyota. I had problems with the looks of both cars initially but after over 4 trouble free years with the Camry SE it looks beautiful now! Also doesn't hurt to see the Camry racing with the Camaros and Mustangs on NASCAR tracks. I admit I sometimes lament I didn't kick in another $4000 back then but honestly the car I have does everything I need and hopefully will remain trouble free.
@@Fitnessgirly I don't think he realizes turbo engines have been out for a very long time (close to 100 years). Its not new technology and Honda is a engineer company first. Audi, bmw, and Mercedes have been using them for a long time, you could easily get over 200k miles on them.
Honda none of the car makers u mentioned reliable, give this accord 5 years then we will talk. I love the look of this car tbh, my next car for sure but reliability wise, it’s not on par with the camry.
i like the look of the camry better but i wish they also had a turbo engine i dont know why toyota isnt doing that, you know toyota has a 4,5l v8 twin turbo diesel in the land cruiser and lexus LX in countries like australia,africa,midle east,russia..... but why cant they make a single small turbo engine ??! please i heard that there is a turbo engine in one of lexus cars in the US
J D ok. So the high end Camry. Should be vs 2.0. 1.5 and 2.0 both smoke Camry equivalents. Thats just numbers. See comparison videos dude. Real world matters.
I traded a 2019 Camry XSE 4 cylinder for a 2019 Accord Sport 2.0 with the auto. It’s no comparison. The Accord is miles ahead in performance and driving enjoyment. I had serious buyers remorse after getting the Camry. No so with the Accord.
Hennessy * no need cuz the car is sporty. Trust me a coupe will be pointless. The sales for the coupe aren’t good. Look at the civic coupes. They aren’t selling any. Maybe 5% lol. I am pretty sure they will stop making civics coupes. I only see sedans.

Mateusz Mrozewski that’s true and I agree but get a RWD car downsouth. Where I live a FWD car is better than a RWD. I wanted to get a 2018 mustang GT for $35k. But then did my math and said I don’t wanna get it since it sucks in the snow. So I looked at the accord 2.0t which is pretty fast I got it for $30k And it’s front wheel drive. And it has soooooo much storage. And it’s a four door so I can put things back and drive around with friends. I love my Accord I love my Accord. I would get a RWD car but as a second car not a daily.

@@Haddley333 Yea, a lot of cars are doing that. I don't know all cars off hand but BMW's like I8, the M series, and more, The New Porsches, Some Volkswagens, I think some Toyotas, and so on.
I don't care for fake exhaust tips either. But the reason for them is to avoid dirty exhaust tips. Small paddles? C'mon, Joe. Size doesn't determine performance either in paddles or in other areas of life. Why detune the Type R engine? It makes for a much better match to the 10 speed AT and improves fuel economy. What would be the advantage? Stoplight drag racing or track days? In a midsize family sedan? Want the performance of a Civic Type R? Buy one.
Just got 2019 2L Sport and notice engine oil low when I checked oil level using dipstik but computer was showing 100 percent oil life….. took it back to dealer they confirmed oil was low about a quart….. I got the car CPO it had 19500 and I only put about 400 miles since I got It. They are doing oil consumption test now!!!! It sucks hope the engine is ok!! I thought Honda is reliable
Is there a difference between the 2019 Honda sport 2.0t and the 2020 Honda 2.0t? I’m trying to decide I love both I really like the sunroof feature though .
My brother bought a 2019 Accord Sport 2.0 for his wife. He asked to give it a quick whirl around the block and tell him what I thought. After I punched it, I laughed and immediately knew why he insisted I test drive it. Honestly, I couldn't believe how quick this car was. The horsepower has been downgraded a lot compared to the Type R, but not so much the torque which is only 20 lb-ft less. They have one of these for $29,000 at a local dealer, and right now they'd take even less. Tempting.

Love love love my 2.0T. Was wondering how it would handle in icy winters but the 17" snows give so much stability. I just don't like how much dust and dirt/salt/grit gets trapped in between the gaps between doors/trunk and body.
I just did this very thing two days ago! I loved my Civic, but I got out of my lease easily and knew I could afford the Accord at this point. No regrets.
This car literally looks like the working man's Audi A7. Absolutely gorgeous. I think Toyota finally knocked it out of the park with the new Camry, but the Accord just has this excellent classiness to it. Fantastic all-rounder.

In the sides, I agree it resembles an Audi a7 in a way. I don't like the rear and the front at all. But either way it has amazing tech so it's good for anyone who wants that in a car. I love the Camry cause it looks more like a sports car than the Accord.
The accord styles aren't boring, I think it's elegant and professional- work related car for people who wants a little classy ride with some awesome tech.
Wish Honda just completely redesign the Accord so the front and rear will look as awesome as the sides are and they need to change things up like what toyota are doing.
I liked the older Accord better honestly but it's just me hope everyone has an awesome day.

I bought my Accord 3 weeks ago in this same color Still night Pearl and the compliments I receive on it are out of this world. I had some lady follow me and flag me down just to let me know she loved it. It just stands out. I of course had to get tint put on mine now it’s just one fly vehicle! I absolutely love it!

Great review!! My wife and I test drove the Camry XSE V6 and the 2019 Honda Accord Sport 2.0T. Toyota does offer more interior color options but after the test drive comparison. Honda won her over. She was able to get custom red leather seats with black stitching installed by Katskinz before delivery. It still cost waaaaay less than the Camry we test drove. Crystal Black Pearl Honda Accord Sport 2.0T, with red interior, ambient lighting, and Accord badges on front fenders. She loves it.

I just drove my friends new ‘19 Accord sport 2.0. Loved it. Very comfortable and powerful. Honda simplicity. I think I’m gonna sell my ‘07 BMW 530i that’s turning into a money pit.
I had a '07 530xi that began to have way too many problems, that outweighed it's value. Sold it, got a Civic, but really considered the Accord Sport as an option. My local dealer was just trying to lure me into paying more for it tho. So I went to another dealer and haggled to get the civic on a great deal. Today I saw an accord in the same color as mine (sport trim) parked next to my civic. Seriously thought about the accord interior, definitely way better than the civic. Tho still the civic exterior design is more better imo.

Raiti's Rides One of the worst looking rear ends Honda has ever made.(subjective opinion of course and should have used TLX inspired taillights) Front and side profile is great but that’s it. The reason why Honda/Acura etc are doing the “fake” exhaust tips have to do with keeping the chrome from getting dirty and some manufacturers claim it improves airflow. It does aide in keeping NVH to a minimum along with the frame improvements using NVH materials by injecting foam-like insulation into various underbody components.

Last year, my brother purchased a brand new 2018 Honda Accord 2.0 EX-L with upgraded OEM parking sensor package. The design is pretty modern/trendy with fit/finish that is just superb for the price range!!! The 2.0t, in my humble opinion...pulls like a fright train...unbelievable!!! The only downside is there is no 3rd party audio to compliment the infotainment system for this fine vehicle. Overall, this is a fantastic daily driver without the financial mistake when compared to other vehicles on the market.

No one really bought them, and for good reason. Don't get me wrong, I liked the Accord coupes, but why get a front-wheel-drive coupe when you can get a more powerful rear-wheel-drive Mustang or Camaro for a similar price?
The Accord coupe (and the Altima coupe and Toyota Solara; back when they were around) were massive compromises on wheels. You sacrifice the packaging and efficiency that the FWD format offers for a little more sport... leaving you with less sport than a traditional RWD coupe and less practicality than a FWD sedan.
So what's the point?

@@mateuszmrozewski9705 I had the 2008 accord coupe V6. Fast, great styling ( their best ever imo), and still very roomy inside and pretty big truck space. Mileage was pretty decent. I don't think a Camaro or mustang would hit those balanced notes.

I have a 2018 and I luv it. Theirs a few features that surprised me. One is when listening to music while driving it sounds low but when u pick up speed it gets louder and when u stop for a light it lowers. Another feature is when u have the a.c on and it starts raining the ac automatically warms up so that u won’t freeze or get sick when entering the car wet. Another is the windshield wipers. When u have it on the first setting and u raise the speed on it, when u start driving it wipes depending on the speed your going and when u stop it goes at a normal wipe. I learn something new everyday with the Honda Accord sport 1.5L l. Awesome car

I can answer that for you. I own a 2018 Accord 2.0t sport and it out-performs almost every other sport sedan I’ve gone against. This car has a lot more power than people realize. Honda for life! 😍

It’s fast lol. I love driving my accord. I have 23k on now and I just love the engine and the power it’s amazing. Build very well and nothing is cheap in it. It’s soooo fun to drive. Yes I agree the arm rest needs a little bit more padding but it’s not horrible. I got used to it. I would recommend this car. My accord has more features than my Friend’s 2019 Acura lol.

I own this exact car, color and everything ( still night pearl ) and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS CAR! Dope daily, looks amazing, big back seat, huge trunk and tons of smiles when you smash that gas pedal. Smooth and fast 10at transmission with a balanced ride in the corners. For the price and what it is, it definitely exceeds expectations. I test drove the Xse Camry and immediately went back to the Honda dealership and said I want that Accord.
I got the same color too but in the 1.5 and it's still picks up nice for a small 1.5!

Me too! I have the exact same car and color. I went to the Toyota Dealership and test drove a Camry and I could tell it just wasn’t it. Luckily they had a used 2018 on the lot and I drove it. Immediately after I went to Honda and Purchased a brand new 2019 Accord Sport. I don’t come from a Honda or Toyota background but in my humble opinion there’s no way someone can choose the Camry without sitting in a Accord. It’s literally night and day and the way it handles and drives is what swayed my decision.

Had a 2018 Blue Streak Camry XSE, loved the styling but was not happy with the 4cyl and its 8speed transmission. Traded it for a white pearl 2.0 Sport. The 10spd is buttery smooth. More features in the sport. Remote start Apple Carplay and Android. And the availability to tune that Turbo!

Hello Joe. Fantastic review of a fantastic iconic car! If you could go back in time, say 15-20 years and bring this 2019 Honda Accord with you, people would think this was some new $80K car from the Germans or a new upstart manufacturer. This Honda is incredible! Honda is incredible. Why spend $50,000 or more on a sedan when for less than $30K all in you can drive one of these. It’s amazing to me how much R&D Honda puts into this Accord every four years or so. They constantly keep the car fresh, up to date and vibrant. They don’t resort to crazy discounts to move product. People buy this car because they want to not because of some fire sale discount (GM) we are looking at you. Honda still builds several full lines of Sedans. Yes CARS and go figure people buy them in droves. It’s a huge shortsighted mistake by the manufacturers that have killed off their car lines in favor of crossovers and SUV’s.

Looked seriously at the Accord 2.0L turbo (Touring), the Mazda6 2.5L turbo (Signature) and the Camry V6 (XSE) last year. For me it was a close contest but the Accord outpointed the Mazda6 overall followed by the Camry. The Mazda was top in exterior style but the Honda had many other advantages, the most important of which was the excellent 2.0L turbo. Anyone who mourns the demise of the V6 Accord should give the turbo4 a closer look. It's simply an awesome engine/drive train combination.
Great summary. I also love the Mazda6 (huge Mazda fanboy in general), but the Accord just hits every point you want in a modern sedan perfectly. Amazing packaging, great efficiency, classy design (looks like an Audi A7!), and the drivetrain proves that with the right manufacturer, you can make a 4-banger pretty much as smooth and desirable as a traditional V6.

From someone who drives a Mercedes and is loyal to Mercedes, I honestly would buy and drive this car. It’s classy, sexy and catches your attention. Very rare in cars like the Accord and Camry. So I’m very impressed.

Thank you for this video Joe! I've always liked the Honda Accord but after owning a 2018 Honda CRV with a turbo engine I just hope the Accord does not have the gasoline and oil mixture problems that my CRV had. That reason alone would be enough for me to get the Camry.
I love this color! Raiti would make a great teacher. Read 2021 reviews in Car and Driver, Motor Trend, KBB, Edmunds, and U.S. News , to see why it was rated 1 among midsize sedans. Most people have personal preferences. I can find design flaws on the Accord, Camry, Mazda 6, Sonata and Altima but Accord has a perfect mix of performance, reliability, infotainment system, comfort, space, plus excellent feedback to steering.

I simply don't trust Honda and turbos. Not yet. The Accord vs Camry XSE V6 is a good matchup. They are roughly the same power and speed wise, but the Camry has dual injection in their engine. Not sure if the Honda does or not. For those that don't know, dual injection means direct and port injection. That will ensure your valves don't get coked up. The Toyota will probably have the longer lasting engine. The Camry also has quad exhaust tips that are actually functional. WTF was Honda thinking? Styling is subjective and both look great to me. You honestly can't go wrong with either car but I'd pick the Camry. And this is coming from a Honda guy. Too many unknowns (to me) with the Honda engine and reliability and small quirks like the exhaust.
Why be down the turbos when it's been find so far other then that CRV issue but that has nothing to do with that turbo engine.
As for the Camry, yeah it looks nice but I bet it's hella boring to drive vs these new Accords. Also btw, those quad exhausts on the Camry are semi fake as only one on each side is real while the other next to it is fake aka a place holder. So not fully functional if you ask me.
I am quite the opposite on the subject of turbocharged engines. We own one on our 17 Ford Escape. It has the twin scroll 2.0 Ecoboost. It lays down the power and gets semi decent fuel economy. Honda makes great engines for a range of products. I believe their first vehicle with a turbo was the Honda City (that didn't come to the States) in the early/mid 80's. I don't think they put another turbo on for close to three decades since that car. In the meantime, they perfected the four cylinder engine. I had the pleasure of driving/owning two of them with the K20 in the 8th generation Si and the K24 in the 9th generation Si. Their 2.0 turbo engine hasn't been as much of an issue as the 1.5 (there are way more 1.5 engines in production), but they will figure out the issues and get it right. When they do, I'm going to buy another Si. BTW, every single direct inject engine has oil dilution issues/blowby. It's the nature of the engine. Some manufacturers have been better at calming the issue down than others. There is no 100% cure for blowby. Even port injected engines have a little bit. But, Honda can do better and I see they are making positive steps to help the situation. And as for the other comment about the exhaust outlets, it's splitting hairs. I know a quad exhaust outlet doesn't mean there are four pipes running directly from the headers. The Camry at least has functional outlets on both sides. Again, both are great cars and you can't go wrong with either.
Nice car. Has room and good gas mileage. Has a good exhaust note for an Accord. I guess that’s the advantage of going with the Sport..

I think turbos have thir places, but the flagship accord deserves a v6. Smooth, reliable, sounds better, and differentiates it from other Hondas, now fuck it, just put a 2.0t in the hypothetical nsx.
Test drove both the Camry Xse v6 and Accord Sport 2.0t. I ended up purchasing the Accord. The Accord was overall more fun to drive. Performance was a no brainer, the Accord would destroy the Camry in a race even with less HP. Accord also has better handling and weighs less, better infotainment system including android auto which Camry doesn't even have. It was also 4k cheaper than the Camry.

Not everyone buys a car to race. Some prefer comfort, reliability over performance. Plus here in Arizona summers Honda's A/C stink, all of them. I 've had too many Honda's /Acura's and won't buy them again because of the lousy A/C's. . Toyota's , Nissan freeze you out. When it's over 100 degree's it makes a huge difference.

I had a 98 Prelude & an 04 Accord EX-L V6 (everything but NAV) 3.0 liter, 240 hp... I love that car. The only thing which really wears is tires if you drive it enthusiasticly.
Like Ive said I bought the EcoBoost Mustang 17 in Red.
I wanted a 17 Pearl White Q50 AWD, but I drove the Mustang first.

Now the electrified models have that.
All my favorite models are going Turbo.
A) EcoBoost Mustang (2.3)
B) Q50 300hp Sport AWD (3.0)
C) Accord 2.0T 10 spd Auto
D) 2019 Altima VC Turbo (2.0)
The Turbos have become mainstream.
@Michael C. I had a pearl 98 prelude SH crashed it oops still have my 01 prelude SH the accord 2.0T and ten speed transmission are totally amazing it blows the 01 out of the water and the technology improvements are amazing!!! You should definitely test drive it just so you know first hand!!!
It would've been nice to mention that a 6 spd is available through the review, people need to know this before they're gone forever! Not only does a manual make you a better driver because you have to pay more attention to what your doing but it also saves you money as autos cost more (in most cases)

I have noticed that the newer Hondas do not appear friendly for aftermarket radio head unit equipment. This is just an observation and not a complaint.
Chad Chapman agreed 1000% (currently me with my poor performing expensive sound system I installed) the typical audio control LC line is barely giving me what I want. You’d have to go for a true DSP(JL audio fix for example) to get the integration you’d need for this type of car with its complex computer systems. It’s basically a computer on wheels this generation(and beyond).
I have to Zonk the tail lights and the fact there is not a V6 I have to zonk it. The reliability of these turbo 4's has me concerned.
I have a 2013 Ford Fusion with an ecoboost 2.0 turbo 4. It has 133k miles on it so far and drives amazingly. And I’m the second owner. Idk about the Honda’s but turbo 4s aren’t that bad if you take care of them

Great review. I would ask for an actual shifter not the electronic shifter. I think Honda did a good job with the design, I feel there are many traditional Honda elements. They should bring back the chime when you start the car like their cars from the 90's.

The aftermarket support is phenomenal PRL k-pro hondataPRL already has a stock 1.5 Civic SI running 1120s on stock internals and a stock turbo the possibilities on that car with a type r motor or a limitless. You can't say that about Toyota Camry Mazda 6 Kia or Hyundai they just don't have the aftermarket support that Honda is famous for or the quality. You have to pay $6,000 more to get the same options in the Camry or the Mazda to get a slower and in Toyotas case worst handling car

Honda fan boys should buy more Accords. The Camry is hammering it in the sales department.
That's because it came out way sooner and they sell to car rental places. But everyone knows Camry's last forever, that's why they buy them. I have 129k on my 2012 Camry. Never kept a car with this many miles. I haven't put any money into the car, just oil changes. How to they do that?

I really want a 2.0t but am worried about the 22mpg city, as thats my main work commute. Im trying to get an estimate if I drive it in eco in start and stop traffic. What do you average for fuel economy if you dont mind me asking? And what % city vs highway? Ty!

The exhaust pipe is not connected to the exhaust tip in order to keep the soot from collecting on the exhaust tip. Wil have to ZONK You for that one!

I busted out laughing several time on this one when you said staple headlights... then the vacuum cleaner exhaust tips. Seats like napkins from Red Lobster.. Econ mode to grow a little tree...and save the planet. Rear armrest... soft like a trampoline. Its a great car that will sell like crazy but it sure could have been so much better with only some small changes.
Oh great now I'll think of a stapler every time I'm driving behind one of these. Haha!
If I wanted a larger car again, I would consider this Accord as is. Engine is smooth, though I am trying to get away from turbos. This color pops, which is why it would be my first pick here, on the Civic Sport Sedan, or HR-V Sport.
The styling is great, especially with the black chrome. A front airdam/splitter can always be added, but it's just another thing to damage. I heard about the wheel thefts. I wonder if those had any locks on them, and if so, was it the factory accessories lock, or if the other design that looks more like wheel lug nuts would prevent or reduce thefts. I would even consider getting 4 sets of locks and put one set each all four wheels and just one wheel lug nut on each wheel, totally opposite of the norm, and hide the 4 keys with extra wheel lug nuts, put them in the trunk spare tire area. This extra effort may prevent the wheel theft problem, but be more of a hassle when working with the wheels. The taillight design is okay, but like you said, no diffuser, and I hate anytime cars have those fake exhaust port tips. The seats for the Sport 2.0L should be all leather, or alcantera/suede.
They should have a CD player and auxiliary audio input jack on the Sport trim and up infotainment systems.

What happens when you try to fix something not broken. The clean design and less obtrusive is negated in a critical operational and safety system. They should contract one of the major shifter manufacturers such as B & M or Hurst to design an aftermarket replacement shifter.
I haven't driven this, or the Camry, and know the Accord is more spacious inside, but I tend to prefer the new Camry SE, XSE, or TRD, with more, normally aspirated horsepower, and all the other goodies, especially on the TRD, albeit, I know pricey.
These Accords, have been, and will continue to sell well, even when SUVs and trucks are the trend, and this has lots of cargo utility, but they need to address these issues. Maybe the Accord needs a Trunk Monkey, too. I never had any problems of theft with my silver 2000 loaded Chevy Impala LS. That was my best, most trouble free car, even more reliable than my 2006 Impala SS.

I have had my Accord 2.0T Manual for about a month now, and I am amazed at the car I got for the money. Fast, fun to drive, and I got a manual!!. Plus, Honda quality. This car is an incredible bargain for what you are getting.
Do you still have the Accord? I'm trying to decide if I should just go with a 2017 Civic Si or even a cheaper 2017 Fit EX for now, the only approval i can get is through Vroom right now at 700 a month *OUCH*.... is it worth it? Thanks in advance
@@cjinreallife I now have a 2022 Civic Si. I loved the Accord and was sad to see it go but my lease was up and time to move on. The Si is great. It handles considerably better than the Accord but is no where near as powerful. Accord is also much quieter. Both are great cars. It just depends on what your priorities are. $700 a month is way steep!!

All you have to do is spend $700 and get the hondata or k-pro and you get 280 horsepower and 388 foot pounds of torque and that's nothing elseif you get a front pipe downpipe midpipe change the intercooler on it you're well over 400

You arent over 400 by changing out a few cooling and exhaust pieces. You will need a larger turbo, injectors, pistons, and the 6 speed because I own the 10 speed dct and it's not meant for performance at all

It’s the old adage, you ride in a Toyota, you drive a Honda. Both are reliable and good cars however if you like to drive you get an Accord or a Civic.
Scott Burke I so agreed with you since 2001 but I tried out the 2019 Camry se today and it felt so much better than Honda. I’m still in disbelief that I’m considering a Camry.
As I understand it, it's bolt pattern matches older Accords so there's a huge market to steal those rims for. I'm planning on a Accord Hybrid Touring and they're on 17"s and I still plan on putting aftermarket wheel locks on it.

Another great review! As you pointed out for ~$31K, the Accord Sport 2.0T offers more than the Camry XSE. I just stumbled across this video which reminded me of my own quandary of choosing between the 2019 Accord Sport 1.5T and the Camry SE. At about $4500 less than the 2.0T you reviewed here, the $26K 2019 1.5T is clearly missing a lot. In fact it was missing so much the $26K Camry SE was a slam dunk in my opinion, heck you couldn't add ANY factory option to the 1.5T Sport, including blind spot monitoring/rear cross traffic alert or a sun roof. The Camry SE offered BSM/RCTA as a ~$600 option and a small sunroof for ~$900. The base SE came with a 2.5L engine and 8-speed transmission instead of the 1.5L turbo (with oil dilution problems) and a CVT. Honda really should have offered factory options to the 1.5, sheesh at the very least a $600 BSM/RCTA option like Toyota.
I had problems with the looks of both cars initially but after over 4 trouble free years with the Camry SE it looks beautiful now! Also doesn't hurt to see the Camry racing with the Camaros and Mustangs on NASCAR tracks. I admit I sometimes lament I didn't kick in another $4000 back then but honestly the car I have does everything I need and hopefully will remain trouble free.
No long term reliability data on those honda turbo direct injection engines. So far they have a bad rep on the ones in the CRV
I got an 2018 accord sport 2.0 since May 2018. I have no problems so far.

@@Fitnessgirly I don't think he realizes turbo engines have been out for a very long time (close to 100 years). Its not new technology and Honda is a engineer company first. Audi, bmw, and Mercedes have been using them for a long time, you could easily get over 200k miles on them.

I'm not a gearhead, but I always hear that turbo engines don't last as long. If this car had the Camry's V-6 engine, it would be no contest.

I traded a 2019 Camry XSE 4 cylinder for a 2019 Accord Sport 2.0 with the auto. It’s no comparison. The Accord is miles ahead in performance and driving enjoyment. I had serious buyers remorse after getting the Camry. No so with the Accord.

Mateusz Mrozewski that’s true and I agree but get a RWD car downsouth. Where I live a FWD car is better than a RWD. I wanted to get a 2018 mustang GT for $35k. But then did my math and said I don’t wanna get it since it sucks in the snow. So I looked at the accord 2.0t which is pretty fast I got it for $30k And it’s front wheel drive. And it has soooooo much storage. And it’s a four door so I can put things back and drive around with friends. I love my Accord I love my Accord. I would get a RWD car but as a second car not a daily.

I don't care for fake exhaust tips either. But the reason for them is to avoid dirty exhaust tips. Small paddles? C'mon, Joe. Size doesn't determine performance either in paddles or in other areas of life. Why detune the Type R engine? It makes for a much better match to the 10 speed AT and improves fuel economy. What would be the advantage? Stoplight drag racing or track days? In a midsize family sedan? Want the performance of a Civic Type R? Buy one.

Just got 2019 2L Sport and notice engine oil low when I checked oil level using dipstik but computer was showing 100 percent oil life….. took it back to dealer they confirmed oil was low about a quart….. I got the car CPO it had 19500 and I only put about 400 miles since I got

My brother bought a 2019 Accord Sport 2.0 for his wife. He asked to give it a quick whirl around the block and tell him what I thought. After I punched it, I laughed and immediately knew why he insisted I test drive it. Honestly, I couldn't believe how quick this car was. The horsepower has been downgraded a lot compared to the Type R, but not so much the torque which is only 20 lb-ft less. They have one of these for $29,000 at a local dealer, and right now they'd take even less. Tempting.

Love love love my 2.0T. Was wondering how it would handle in icy winters but the 17" snows give so much stability. I just don't like how much dust and dirt/salt/grit gets trapped in between the gaps between doors/trunk and body.
