Stay away from this controller. Im on my 3rd controller in just a week. Finally got one with none sticking/unresponsive button/buttons, but hey now RT is fucked and the Right stick is drifting and not returning to the middle. (leaning left) Disgusting. A v2 with so called improvements? They have acknowledged these issues. So stay away from this controller untill they fix these issues. Which they WONT. Many many maaany people are having issues out of the box.

But thats because i live in Europe, diff rules with warranties and policy. But so far 3 controllers with diff issues. Problem is after you use it, you cant go back to the original/base controller.
Black White No. Yeah standard controllers do the job but the elite series gives you that premium feeling when using it for people who can afford it. It also is convenient that you don't have to move your thumbs off the analogue stick, but as you say, it probably won't make much of a difference
Great review dude! Small little note: the hair trigger or shortest pull mode is actually the new mode that we didn't have on the previous version. The middle area on the toggle is more equivalent to the trigger stop on the series 1 controller.
Mike Bordenkircher there is no trigger tension, only the sticks are tension adjustable. Clockwise is tighter and counter loosens it up. Just got mine today so about to set it up

I got the elite 2 also once it came out and it literally got the worst controller drift ive ever had in abt two weeks and developed to become unplayable by the third week. Even in the accessories tab u see the right stick constantly moving halfway up or down or slightly to the left or right and if u try to get it back to the middle it keeps on moving in the direction u tapped it in. Its so bad that u can’t even play any game it’s like ur fighting the controller to get control of your aim, I had to buy a new controller by the third week because it was impossible to keep my aim in the middle of the screen. It’s sad for how much this controller costs

Lol i had the same thought but now that i have one i prefer the internal battery and the case charging. Ive played 26 hours since full charge and my battery is still over half full. And the charger in the case is awesome. You just drop it in the case and it charges.
I just got one yesterday and wow it's incredible. Just the grip around and the smoothness of it is satisfying. The wider thumb sticks are very smooth and considering that we'll be able to use this on the Series X is more than what I could've asked for. No need to wait for a Series X elite controller. 10/10

The controller itself is amazing, it feels remarkable to use. What I will tell you is this, when buying the controller ensure you have a warranty included. I had mine for just a month, maybe 30 hours of play time total, and the RB button (right bumper) became unresponsive. Multiple friends experienced the same issue, one friend going through 2 of the controllers with the same button issue, as-well as another friend with the once again, same button issue. Edit: I’d like to mention as-well that for my friend who went through 2 of them, that his controller was both times unresponsive straight out of unboxing.
Everyone who recommends this a must have you cannot trust. Even microsoft themselves at this point have confirmed that the Abutton (in many instances more, i had 2 elites in 1 month, 1broken A button out of the box, second one had A&Y buttons only working 70% of the time). In its current shape it is not worth 180.-
4th replacement and finally a controller with no issues (so far). If this helps anyone, the 4th i got is batch 1936. The first 3 were all newer batches. Guess the people who put them together got tired, or they were rushed, because Microsoft sold more than they expected. But you're right. Not worth it. I cant even enjoy it, because im afraid it will be the same as the last i got. After 2 days, A button was loose/mushy.

Used to use an original pad for Tekken 7. Tried using the elite plate pad and OMG. It had made me a better player hands down. Qcf and qcb moves done every time. Really helps with missed inputs. You become a combo God never dropping anything. Highly recommend it if your serious about fighters and play on a pad now. Took me 2 days to get used to it now ill never go back. Just bought an elite series 3 and slapped the warranty on it if it breaks I get it replaced in store for freeeeeee.
ONE NOTE B4 BUYING. After 6 months, my bumpers starting getting rlly unresponsive and it was happening to a lot of ppl so I’d definitely recommend a scuff controller instead. Even thought the quality of everything else was perfect, this one fault could be a real game changer

The controller is awesome. I like the thumb sticks better than the old, it’s chargeable. The charger outlet that I use to charge the controller makes it to where I can play while charging, it has great battery life to where I can play all day and charge when I sleep. Best controller Xbox has come out with hands down
So the question is... Will you do an after use review of the product? Let's say after three months and has to be high usage 3-5+ hours a day (true gamer) That's the point where you can do a full and in depth review of the product and it's true potential. Looking forward to seeing that from you. :)

Excellent controller...once you get used to it. I've yet to kill mine and I've tried, I really have 🤣 I can attest to the fact it can survive a hit to a wall....multiple times 🙄 And it's done a great job of surviving a pit bull that loves to chew on stuff he ain't supposed to be chewing on. Other than the looks after all this abuse, it works perfectly! Like I said, I LOVE this controller 😁 Great review Matt!
Someone else complained that the controller was slippery. But from my experience with this controller is that once you begin to play and your hands start to sweat you get a better grip on the controller. It's an awesome piece to have. I love mine. The first one was good to but too many problems with it so super happy with the upgrade.
I used the Elite Controller Series 1 and loved it... just got the Series 2 and love it even more. The best controller out there by far. I also think the asking price is very fair for what you get. After using Elite controllers I can't use the originals and I just trade them in for Elites.

Just got one and the left sick has bad drift right off the box. The paddles also give you an electrical shock when the controller's being used wired. Sent it back for a brand new replacement.

You need to address the many problems MS had with the Series 1 controller. I also have been playing with the first iteration of this controller. Since it came out several years ago I've gone through 4-5 controllers (thank God I bought the extended warranty from Best Buy: they replaced multiple controllers until they stopped carrying the damn thing). The Series 1 suffered from chronic and recurrent problems: broken bumpers, stick drift and lifting of the rubber grips have created a real market for aftermarket repair parts. Feel free to check all the repair videos on youtube. When BB could no longer fulfill the extended warranty (they stopped carrying it) I finally dug in and learned to repair the thing because the one thing I'll agree with you on is that it IS a great controller to use - far better than the stock controller - WHEN IT WORKS. While the grips are easy to replace, changing the bumpers requires a modest tear down that can be bit tricky. Replacing the potentiometers (the "stick" controller) requires that the malfunctioning part be de-soldered from the circuit board. Not something an inexperienced gamer can do with a typical hobby soldering iron. For this, many will have to replace the entire circuit board which, interestingly, you can buy. You really want to have to do this after spending this much money??? Unless MS has addressed these flaws - and maybe changing the design of the rubber grips will at least fix that one problem - I wouldn't recommend buying this unless you also buy an extended warranty.

I recently got my Series Elite 2. It was pretty much an impossible dream since of the price and i have a strict dad. But recently he’s been a lot more lenient and i found a second hand one for 3000 ZAR, So im so glad that i finally got one.
I have a razor tournament edition half off so I paid 60$ plus shipping originally 120$..... 180$ for a controller is too much for me but damn do I want it
Too many issues with this product still. If you want elite functionality take your working controller to the beach, roll it around in sand real good, take it home, start up a game and I can guarantee you will get all of the sticky buttons, malfunctioning triggers and cotton stiff joysticks. Now you may not have paddles but I can ensure that this will give you a close enough feel of owning the actual product
I had 2 Elite 1 controllers that broke at the left bumpers in the same way. Thank God for extended warranties, which afforded me the credit to put down on 2 new Elite 2 controllers, with a minor upcharge to make up the cost difference between 1 and 2.
Take note: Everything Mac is saying here is true. This thing is a game changer. I've had mine since the first week it was available and I'm here to tell you I'm hardly ever on my PS4 anymore simply because of this controller. It's brilliant. Pricey, yes, but brilliant. If you can afford one, get it straightaway.

Just be lucky your controller starts acting up before your warranty expires (90days but for me it was 5 months idk why) I had bumper troubles all the time and mine started acting up after warranty. Ridiculously high priced controller and it breaks in hardware errors and sometimes mechanical. I’m not the only one trust me, don’t get rid of your regular controller. Ignore me and you’ll regret it!
Gonçalo Esteves I sell them at my store and use one myself. It’s fantastic, even better than my elite 1.0. I saw a lot of 1.0s come back in back in the day, but I’ve yet to see a 2.0 defective and I’ve sold at least a dozen since they’ve come out. Well worth the money imo and the build quality is top notch.
It's a must have until the sticks start drifting even though you've only had it for a few months, and it's probably the thing you the treat the best out of all of your electronics.
Trust me guys its only a must have if you can afford a new one every few months. I play about 3/4 hours of COD most days with my elite 2, ive taken damn good care of it, it gets a clean every time i use it, yet im having connection issues, battery issues, joystick issues etc. All n all im gonna give the fusion pro by powerA a go, better money wise n i bet will last longer
Although I love these new features, once again I wish Microsoft would’ve incorporated a cleaning kit for a $180 controller...after all Xbox controllers aren’t too keen on staying clean after a long period of sessions in Call of Duty or something you know? But knowing Microsoft, they’ll probably sell something like that separately anyway so I can’t complain....we’re lucky enough to even get a series 2 in the first place.
I got one for Christmas,I used regular on infinite warfare I usually got 30-40kills most games,and still lost most games,when I used xbox1 series 2,I didn't only get more kills I improved my aim and almost everything I didn't have to jump or crouch or switch weapons without taking my thumb off the right thumb stick ..,so I can do all that and still shoot at my enemy while aiming and tracking them Down -edit,I don't play claw so this is a really big help

I am usually a DS4 fancreature, but when I touched a normal xbone controller it felt so much better than I remember the 360 controller ever feeling. It was then I knew, I would eventually lose close to $195 (tax incl). It was sadness, such sweet sadness. I would end myself for spending so much on a controller, but I don't want to miss out on enjoying it. Maybe the controller will just end me when it reaches end of life, my heart will give out as the controller sputters its final trigger pull. Boom.. blaring through a head set .. boom.. bo... windows disconnection sound.. thud on a hard wood floor.
Mine will be here tomorrow and im so excited ive been playing claw for a while and ill continue to play partial claw but im glad to finally have some paddles
Bought it and returned it 4 times to get one that didn't had any issues with the A button. One would expect better quality control with a controller this pricey

This IS the greatest looking controller, no doubt. It's the not the design only, but the rest of it. It's like a jewel in your hands. So you're also paying for premium look.
Why only 1 dome, I have 2 thumbs? Does not feel as solid as the first one. Seems like they have overcome the rubber wearing off or becoming loose by making the whole thing very hard rubber and cutting in a grip texture. The old one seems to fit my hand better, there is a very noticeable difference. I do prefer the older one but could be that it is now moulded to my hand. If you stiffen the thumbsticks then more pressure is needed so beware the rubber on the sticks will wear off quicker.
This definitely made my mind up. I getting this bastard! I have been using the series 1 and just now have begun having the exact same issue with the "wrap" as you illustrated on your series one. there have been a couple of other issues with it but I have used the hell out of it and it performed great. It's pricey, sure, but good tools always are. Ordering that bitch TODAY!

I’ve had 4 of these controllers, got my 5th coming back from Microsoft repairs this month. The buttons/bumpers are shocking

The Series 1 suffered from chronic and recurrent problems: broken bumpers, stick drift and lifting of the rubber grips have created a real market for aftermarket repair parts. Feel free to check all the repair videos on youtube. When BB could no longer fulfill the extended warranty (they stopped carrying it) I finally dug in and learned to repair the thing because the one thing I'll agree with you on is that it IS a great controller to use - far better than the stock controller - WHEN IT WORKS. While the grips are easy to replace, changing the bumpers requires a modest tear down that can be bit tricky. Replacing the potentiometers (the "stick" controller) requires that the malfunctioning part be de-soldered from the circuit board. Not something an inexperienced gamer can do with a typical hobby soldering iron. For this, many will have to replace the entire circuit board which, interestingly, you can buy.
You really want to have to do this after spending this much money???
Unless MS has addressed these flaws - and maybe changing the design of the rubber grips will at least fix that one problem - I wouldn't recommend buying this unless you also buy an extended warranty.

Too many issues with this product still. If you want elite functionality take your working controller to the beach, roll it around in sand real good, take it home, start up a game and I can guarantee you will get all of the sticky buttons, malfunctioning triggers and cotton stiff joysticks. Now you may not have paddles but I can ensure that this will give you a close enough feel of owning the actual product
I bet the people who use strike pack mods are mad that the series 2 now has a built in rechargeable battery. 🤣

I had 2 Elite 1 controllers that broke at the left bumpers in the same way. Thank God for extended warranties, which afforded me the credit to put down on 2 new Elite 2 controllers, with a minor upcharge to make up the cost difference between 1 and 2.

Take note: Everything Mac is saying here is true. This thing is a game changer. I've had mine since the first week it was available and I'm here to tell you I'm hardly ever on my PS4 anymore simply because of this controller. It's brilliant. Pricey, yes, but brilliant. If you can afford one, get it straightaway.

Just be lucky your controller starts acting up before your warranty expires (90days but for me it was 5 months idk why) I had bumper troubles all the time and mine started acting up after warranty. Ridiculously high priced controller and it breaks in hardware errors and sometimes mechanical. I’m not the only one trust me, don’t get rid of your regular controller. Ignore me and you’ll regret it!

I saw a lot of 1.0s come back in back in the day, but I’ve yet to see a 2.0 defective and I’ve sold at least a dozen since they’ve come out. Well worth the money imo and the build quality is top notch.
It's a must have until the sticks start drifting even though you've only had it for a few months, and it's probably the thing you the treat the best out of all of your electronics.

You can get attachments for the controllers for like $40. That give you two paddles on the back. I think it's called the gamepad or something

I play about 3/4 hours of COD most days with my elite 2, ive taken damn good care of it, it gets a clean every time i use it, yet im having connection issues, battery issues, joystick issues etc.
All n all im gonna give the fusion pro by powerA a go, better money wise n i bet will last longer

Although I love these new features, once again I wish Microsoft would’ve incorporated a cleaning kit for a $180 controller...after all Xbox controllers aren’t too keen on staying clean after a long period of sessions in Call of Duty or something you know?
But knowing Microsoft, they’ll probably sell something like that separately anyway so I can’t complain....we’re lucky enough to even get a series 2 in the first place.

I got one for Christmas,I used regular on infinite warfare I usually got 30-40kills most games,and still lost most games,when I used xbox1 series 2,I didn't only get more kills I improved my aim and almost everything I didn't have to jump or crouch or switch weapons without taking my thumb off the right thumb stick ..,so I can do all that and still shoot at my enemy while aiming and tracking them Down -edit,I don't play claw so this is a really big help

I am usually a DS4 fancreature, but when I touched a normal xbone controller it felt so much better than I remember the 360 controller ever feeling. It was then I knew, I would eventually lose close to $195 (tax incl). It was sadness, such sweet sadness. I would end myself for spending so much on a controller, but I don't want to miss out on enjoying it. Maybe the controller will just end me when it reaches end of life, my heart will give out as the controller sputters its final trigger pull. Boom.. blaring through a head set .. boom.. bo... windows disconnection sound.. thud on a hard wood floor.

@@andrewbruce1538 no. Sadly I learned to live with it. Could be bad luck or just poor quality control. Now at last I got one that "only" has the occasional problem with the a button. Worse are the ones with the sticky drifting.

This IS the greatest looking controller, no doubt. It's the not the design only, but the rest of it. It's like a jewel in your hands. So you're also paying for premium look.
Why only 1 dome, I have 2 thumbs? Does not feel as solid as the first one. Seems like they have overcome the rubber wearing off or becoming loose by making the whole thing very hard rubber and cutting in a grip texture. The old one seems to fit my hand better, there is a very noticeable difference. I do prefer the older one but could be that it is now moulded to my hand. If you stiffen the thumbsticks then more pressure is needed so beware the rubber on the sticks will wear off quicker.

I have been using the series 1 and just now have begun having the exact same issue with the "wrap" as you illustrated on your series one. there have been a couple of other issues with it but I have used the hell out of it and it performed great. It's pricey, sure, but good tools always are. Ordering that bitch TODAY!
