I've been using the Razer Wolverine for almost a year and it's been a fantastic controller for me, but recently it's had major connectivity issues that I'm trying to get fixed, but now I'm actually thinking about upgrading to the Elite 2.
So something I would like to correct in the video you don’t actually need to change the trigger sensitivity to get the full Press when you use the trigger locks it will automatically adapt to whatever lock you are using to give you that full press something minor but I thought was really cool but noticed it instantly if you go into the app and check the sensitivity while switching the locks you’ll see that it automatically changes
I'm looking forward to this controller, the durability is what has been the concern for me. I'm hoping the controller lasts a couple years and jeffrey epstein didn't kill himself.
4:44 so i'm going to put this out there, I have never seen the back paddles used like this. Using two long ones on both sides. I tried this and its actually really, really good when playing FPS. It was more responsive and accurate too. Simple things, hey!
It should be much better than the elite controller with durability. They heard the feedback from lots of people on the parts that broke the quickest and they made sure that the elite series 2 would be more durable in those areas.
@@johnthebasscannon3328 I felt a big difference when it came to cod I went back to the 360 tension for the analog. I was more accurate with it. With the elite 1 I was near the default sensitivity but with the elite 2 I went back to High sensitivity which is what I normally play on and felt great. Played outer worlds with it and again it felt great compared to the elite 1 especially with the paddles being more sturdy. Also played 2k and the analogies just felt like an upgrade not to mention that the triggers with with every game. That was a problem with the elite 1 the hair triggers didn't work with every game but that's not a problem with the elite 2. Next game I'm about to try it out on is gears 5. But so far it's great the battery lasts about a day and a half so you can play for hours with it.
Unfortunately I’m already having to get a replacement due to drift on both thumb sticks and the casing peeling away, I feel like that is more of a shipping error rather than Microsoft’s fault.
I also had the original Elite Controller and loved it. I never did have problems with the grip coming off or anything like that (perhaps I was just lucky). I am absolutely loving the weight, feel and new additions of the Series 2 controller! As for my old Elite, I gave it to my adult daughter, who absolutely loves it. Everyone wins!
@@joelg1969 ye, I personally feel they both have value. I LOVE MY og elite because you can use Scuf type paddles due to the battery lid. And the new one doesn't allow this but improves the paddles by making them a bit harder to press and a bit smaller which I greatly appreciate. If they'd kept them the same I'd have been very disappointed. That would've taken a lot of value from the elite 2. Anyway I kept them both and got protection plans so that when they break Gamestop will replace them with whatever is in stock Aka. The elite 2 Also even with the permanent battery I have to say the battery life is amazing. That was something I was worried about. But it seems like an improvement. I just hope it holds up with time
BIGGEST SECRET OF ALL: None of the god damn face buttons work. 3 controllers and each had faulty/sticking/unresponsive face buttons. Maybe they developed the Elite S2 in cooperation with Bethesda.
Did you order it? I looked everywhere trying to find them and finally found a wal mart that had them. I’m on my 3rd controller and the A and Y button only work if you push straight down directly and firmly. If you don’t press the dead center it won’t register the button press.
Impressed...really love it... although I'm am not very fond of the in built battery as when it dies that's a problem, I find it much easier with the rechargeable AA batteries, get a set of 4 keep them charged and no problem...and the Bluetooth is a really huge improvement
I hope the durability is way better than the first one. The first version had major quality control issues. Mainly bad shoulder buttons and loose analog sticks. I got two that had loose analog sticks right out the box. Could grab the stick and pull it up and down super easy. Wiggle all over the place. I know I will definitely be buying the Best Buy warranty with these. 40$ is well worth it.
don't know if it can, but would be nice if you could press the "shift" key and then use the D pad as a chat mixer, up/down for mix and left/right for volume
U can assign actions to the buttons to do or pull up anything on the console etc it's wild and a amazing piece of game ware I believe every gamer shud have
I was today years old when I learned that using that key increases thumb-stick tension. I previously had no idea what that did, so I never messed with it. But now I’m totally tightening that up! (Figured I’d try to cut through all the negativity and say something that’s not cynical)
I know I'm late but for some reason my Xbox accessories app looks different to his and I don't have the option to assign an "action" to my paddles, I can only make them act like other buttons that are already on the controller. Can anyone suggest why? I've tried google but it doesn't seem to have any answers
I love my Elite controller. Shame the grips came off but everything on it still works like a dream. I actually use both the domed sticks so I'd have to keep those since I'm so used to the feel of them. I can't say I've ever used the paddles though. Little things like the built in battery and new charging cable sound great though. I always felt like the Elite was a bit sticky trying to connect to a charging cable for the plug and play kit
Built in battery is kind of a bad thing imo, I've been using eneloop pros for over a year now, since my play and charge kit died. Its much more convenient to swap out rechargeable batteries than it is let a controller sit and charge, or be tethered to a cable. The worst thing is, what happens when this controllers internal battery stops holding a charge? Wired only? With no way to fix it? That's really the only thing holding me back from buying this controller right now
I must admit it's the most comfy controller I have ever held and I really hope my replacement is not faulty like my first one was out of the box.. Still, if it had motion controls and a turbo button there'd never be a need for any other controller... I bought an 8bitDo Sn30 pro 2 for those needs.
Its hard watching these videos, watching people talk about how great it is, and no one complaining about the factory defective A and Y buttons. Gone through 3 replaced through warranty, A and Y only sometimes responsive straight out the box. 3 years been released and still the issue persists
The best controller has just got even better a true masterpiece. Since nes 8bit i am so amazed by how far controllers have come and xbox controllers are the best for gaming by a mile. I love the way the D-Pad is clicky like it's sanwa arcade buttons and grips and everything about it the cable is 2 metres long.

It's still the best controller on the market three years later =) Not taking anything away from the PS5 but I have no regrets about switching to the Series X from the PS4,PS3,PS2 and PS1 =) Microsoft have truly upped their game IMO, yeah first party titles have been slow but there's still a tonne of games to play! Some epic games coming in 2023 though...
The biggest secret they're not telling you: the grips slip out of your palms and make you feel like your hands are constantly sweating when they're not. Returned mine yesterday. I really wanted to like it but it's like they didn't even have someone pick it up and play with it before they started mass producing them
I've gone through 5 x Elite Controllers in 3 years as a casual gamer... after time they develop stick drift, the analogues stop registering in-clicks, and the bumpers (which are connected) snap and crumble out of the pad! All of this essentially renders them useless, just like Xbox Customer Support. Don't expect the build quality of this version to be any different. Though unfortunately no other controller compares in functionality XD

Can you Map the buttons to things that aren't 1 click? For example the Map on Witcher 3 (game I just started). I have to open the "start" and then select the Map option in the menu. With the new back buttons can you Map it to that particular thing?
Yes I do believe so I have mine in the post so can’t say 100% but I know on the dominator strike pack you can 100% add the paddles to anything you want even the Home button
I got mine a little early thanks to shipping going way faster than expected, sunk about 10 hours onto it and I must say This thing is amazing! It was a little hard getting used to the paddles but being able to route them with jumping and interact so I never have to remove my thumb from the right stick. Being able to have to sensitives based on shift button. And just the general feel, if ya play a lot and have a bit to spare, do it! 11/10!

Not entirely true. The only reason the old one fell off is because the material they used wasn't sex-grade, so the heat and sweat of your hands could pretty easily permeate through the grip, making it expand to the point that the adhesive couldn't hold it anymore. The wrap around design should help as well, though. I'm pretty sure they used a slightly different adhesive as well.
Have you seen a grip come off I have I would say there was only about 10% glue on the whole grip total so that’s why they failed and fell off ! The little robot didn’t use enough glue
How can it wrap around when the bottom is removable to access the screws, not wrapped around ..stuck on 2 halves so we get 4 lots of grip lifting off when glue lets go
Are you kidding me? What part of this was a secret I wouldn't know having read the manual and tech specs before buying it last year? The only secret I found out the hard way was that not forking over another $20 for the warranty would be a bad move.
Eh....nice way to frame the Elite 2 improvements as upgrades but several changes were based on fixing problems the entire stock of elite 1 were known to have for instance: I believe the grip change to a wrap-around was because the series 1 has a known issue with the adhesive failing over time causing the rubber strips to come off, as a result the full wrap would theoretically be less prone to pulling forces that could cause it to come off even if the adhesives weaken over time. Also if I remember correctly the rubber used in the grips was known to have "sweat" issues that caused residue to get all over the controller. Along with all this the thumbstick bases were changed from metal to plastic for a number of reasons but those reasons all focused on mitigating stick drift. However all these changes wasn't enough apparently because Microsoft has extended the basic warranty on Elite 2 controllers to prevent a class action lawsuit since stick drift is still a common issue with the hardware straight out of the box; FYI if your Elite 2 has issues your basic warranty has been extended to 1 year from purchase date so send it in for replacement/repair if you can! Also $20 for the extended warranty is worth the money, Xbox controllers feel best to me but their quality control isn't great & their lifespan varies wildly with some working well for years while others fail in months under identical usage conditions.

I don't see why you wouldn't be able to bring it threw imports.. The only worry I would think of is perhaps software support may not be out in some markets? Hope you get your hands on one! :D
I'm not intrigued. I don't get it, do they intend the controller for the next Xbox to be not up to level with this one or is it just going to be sub-par with little to no improvements? Don't get me wrong though the current one is pretty decent but there's always room for improvement, and this controller sets a kind of a restriction as to what extent they're going to improve their standard (and mostly utilized) product.
My guess is that the next controller will be essentially an updated XB1 controller, with a few styling differences. They still need to keep costs down so spare controller's are affordable. This elite controller is for people who want the most control over their games - it's an expensive niche
I love that they've added the feature to dim the Xbox light. Many nights I played in the dark looked down and have been blinded by my Xbox One controller. This feature is really making me want to get this. 😊

It works great when wired to my pc but in bluetooth mode it is awful. Doesn't register button presses and has terrible input lag. The controller and drivers are up to date, any advice out there to potentially fix this? I love the way it feels and the build quality, really want to make it work
Feircy is it possible that your PC isn’t using the most recent updated Bluetooth technology? Just a thought, and I could be completely wrong. Other than that, it’s possible that something is running under the hood in your PC that is causing some kind of lag. Or perhaps there are other devices using the same radio frequency as your Bluetooth, which would cause connectivity and speed issues - wireless phones (not cellphones), microwaves, too many things using a 2.4g wireless network in the vicinity...
Serious question.. let's say you set a button to Shift. But your playing a game that utilizes all the buttons how will you be able to you use that button as its normal function in the game without activating shift??
The "leather" rubber is garbage. I take very good care of my controller, had an 360 controller for years until it started drifting on the left knob. When i bought the elite controller, i noticed how one of my bumper keys weren't so responsive, was about to deliver it back, since this was noticed quite early. I spammed that bumper key and that fixed it.. then I was like "Okey, well.. maybe it just was a bit slow" Then after 5-6 months, I suddenly noticed one morning that the rubber next to the top bumper key on the left side had gotten loose, i felt no glue under it, and when i tried to press it as it should be, it also seems like its not lining up like the other one on the right side. It has annoyed me for 2 years and 4 months, but I did not complain on that to the dealership as they would prolly just call it "wear and tear" even tho it's not from wear and tear. Others than that, i never used any accessories, stuck with the same knobs since i got it, only today changed the knobs just because why not, and I again put the buttons on the backside just for the esthetics, not really going to use them as you can only program those buttons to either LB,RB, LT, RT, X, A, B or Y. which I did not find any use for. I know you can program the buttons for other purposes, OR if you just want to have shorter trigger hand, but then again you can just adjust the settings on the back and your trigger will become short triggered. I'm considering buying some epoxy glue, and just glue the rubber that is loose together, but the reason why I haven't done that yet is because when i try to squeeze it or set it in place, it does NOT fit snug and line up like it should, its as if the rubber has expanded and gotten 1-1,5 mm too long. But having it loose like it is is prolly more annoying than seeing that it doesnt fit snug like on the other side, which again can trigger OCD in my brain at least! I had my 360 controller for about 7 years before i had to put it in a box and forever store it, it had started to drag on the steering knobs, which you can imagine is QUITE fed up when you drive a car or helicopter or a plane with the stick, so that's when i bought the Xbox one elite series 2, in march 2022. It did last 7 years before it got a drift i could not live with! Still works today, but not really using it, just collecting dust stored in a box inside a handmade chest that i store stuff in lol! I expected more from the elite controller since it cost MORE than 4 times as much as my 360 controller had for price. The rubber that has gotten loose is the main and only thing I hate with the controller tbf. Bad glue job from the factory i guess... I hope epoxy will fix it, and that i DON'T have to cut in the rubber to make the fit snug. Expecting this one to last me 28 + years before it drifts, i mean my 360 controller lasted 7 years before it started dragging to the left, everything else was and is still working fine on that controller, which puts my expectations up for no drift on the either of the knobs until it's 28 years of age ( based on how much it actually cost ) and that it will still work long after. However the rubber flap is NOT a good start for those 28 years, and that was a huge disappointment . What did the Xbox 360 controller for windows cost? It cost 33,79 USD. For that price i got the controller,, and a receiver so that it would work with my windows pc. What did i pay for the Xbox One Elite Series 2 controller? HAH! 182,66 USD.... WHAT a joke of a price if you ask me, but still i bought it... It was either dumb of me to pay the price, or an investment... so far it has been a good investment except for the rubber flap that my brain NEVER will let me forget about lol!

I love my Elite controller. Shame the grips came off but everything on it still works like a dream. I actually use both the domed sticks so I'd have to keep those since I'm so used to the feel of them. I can't say I've ever used the paddles though.
Little things like the built in battery and new charging cable sound great though. I always felt like the Elite was a bit sticky trying to connect to a charging cable for the plug and play kit
Built in battery is kind of a bad thing imo, I've been using eneloop pros for over a year now, since my play and charge kit died. Its much more convenient to swap out rechargeable batteries than it is let a controller sit and charge, or be tethered to a cable. The worst thing is, what happens when this controllers internal battery stops holding a charge? Wired only? With no way to fix it? That's really the only thing holding me back from buying this controller right now

I must admit it's the most comfy controller I have ever held and I really hope my replacement is not faulty like my first one was out of the box.. Still, if it had motion controls and a turbo button there'd never be a need for any other controller... I bought an 8bitDo Sn30 pro 2 for those needs.
Its hard watching these videos, watching people talk about how great it is, and no one complaining about the factory defective A and Y buttons. Gone through 3 replaced through warranty, A and Y only sometimes responsive straight out the box. 3 years been released and still the issue persists
The best controller has just got even better a true masterpiece. Since nes 8bit i am so amazed by how far controllers have come and xbox controllers are the best for gaming by a mile. I love the way the D-Pad is clicky like it's sanwa arcade buttons and grips and everything about it the cable is 2 metres long.

It's still the best controller on the market three years later =) Not taking anything away from the PS5 but I have no regrets about switching to the Series X from the PS4,PS3,PS2 and PS1 =) Microsoft have truly upped their game IMO, yeah first party titles have been slow but there's still a tonne of games to play! Some epic games coming in 2023 though...

The biggest secret they're not telling you: the grips slip out of your palms and make you feel like your hands are constantly sweating when they're not. Returned mine yesterday. I really wanted to like it but it's like they didn't even have someone pick it up and play with it before they started mass producing them

I've gone through 5 x Elite Controllers in 3 years as a casual gamer... after time they develop stick drift, the analogues stop registering in-clicks, and the bumpers (which are connected) snap and crumble out of the pad! All of this essentially renders them useless, just like Xbox Customer Support. Don't expect the build quality of this version to be any different. Though unfortunately no other controller compares in functionality XD

Can you Map the buttons to things that aren't 1 click?
For example the Map on Witcher 3 (game I just started). I have to open the "start" and then select the Map option in the menu.
With the new back buttons can you Map it to that particular thing?
Yes I do believe so I have mine in the post so can’t say 100% but I know on the dominator strike pack you can 100% add the paddles to anything you want even the Home button

This thing is amazing! It was a little hard getting used to the paddles but being able to route them with jumping and interact so I never have to remove my thumb from the right stick. Being able to have to sensitives based on shift button. And just the general feel, if ya play a lot and have a bit to spare, do it! 11/10!
When I got my original elite I had to learn one paddle at a time to get used to it.

Yes it is absolutely fine that way. It would actually be better as to having less input lag from wired as opposed to wireless.

Microsoft state that the controller is perfectly fine being left on the charging dock until needed and it will not harm the battery.
steve sutton most modern day electronics are built this way these days although people still freak out and think it’s going to ruin the battery.

No it has a wrap around grip so the grip doesn’t fall off like the old elite 😂🤷♂️🤷♂️
Not entirely true. The only reason the old one fell off is because the material they used wasn't sex-grade, so the heat and sweat of your hands could pretty easily permeate through the grip, making it expand to the point that the adhesive couldn't hold it anymore. The wrap around design should help as well, though. I'm pretty sure they used a slightly different adhesive as well.
Have you seen a grip come off I have I would say there was only about 10% glue on the whole grip total so that’s why they failed and fell off !

How can it wrap around when the bottom is removable to access the screws, not wrapped around ..stuck on 2 halves so we get 4 lots of grip lifting off when glue lets go

Are you kidding me? What part of this was a secret I wouldn't know having read the manual and tech specs before buying it last year? The only secret I found out the hard way was that not forking over another $20 for the warranty would be a bad move.
Eh....nice way to frame the Elite 2 improvements as upgrades but several changes were based on fixing problems the entire stock of elite 1 were known to have for instance: I believe the grip change to a wrap-around was because the series 1 has a known issue with the adhesive failing over time causing the rubber strips to come off, as a result the full wrap would theoretically be less prone to pulling forces that could cause it to come off even if the adhesives weaken over time.
Also if I remember correctly the rubber used in the grips was known to have "sweat" issues that caused residue to get all over the controller. Along with all this the thumbstick bases were changed from metal to plastic for a number of reasons but those reasons all focused on mitigating stick drift.
However all these changes wasn't enough apparently because Microsoft has extended the basic warranty on Elite 2 controllers to prevent a class action lawsuit since stick drift is still a common issue with the hardware straight out of the box; FYI if your Elite 2 has issues your basic warranty has been extended to 1 year from purchase date so send it in for replacement/repair if you can!
Also $20 for the extended warranty is worth the money, Xbox controllers feel best to me but their quality control isn't great & their lifespan varies wildly with some working well for years while others fail in months under identical usage conditions.
I've gotten 3 through warranty. all 3 have had partially;y unresponsive A and Y buttons. 3 years later a launch issue isn't fixed

I don't get it, do they intend the controller for the next Xbox to be not up to level with this one or is it just going to be sub-par with little to no improvements?
Don't get me wrong though the current one is pretty decent but there's always room for improvement, and this controller sets a kind of a restriction as to what extent they're going to improve their standard (and mostly utilized) product.
My guess is that the next controller will be essentially an updated XB1 controller, with a few styling differences. They still need to keep costs down so spare controller's are affordable. This elite controller is for people who want the most control over their games - it's an expensive niche
I think the next xbox controller will add a share button but be almost identical in other ways :)

I love that they've added the feature to dim the Xbox light. Many nights I played in the dark looked down and have been blinded by my Xbox One controller. This feature is really making me want to get this. 😊

I've never got stick drift on a controller before and I've raged pretty hard with my 3 and a half year old classic xbox 1 controller
Feature 51: controller will come with a problem like stick drift or a faulty headphone jack.
Hopefully the build quality is better then the first Elite. Always had issues with the analog sticks breaking/drifting.

Picked up the halo infinite elite 2 controller 👍 not yet broke the seal 💚
It works great when wired to my pc but in bluetooth mode it is awful. Doesn't register button presses and has terrible input lag.
The controller and drivers are up to date, any advice out there to potentially fix this? I love the way it feels and the build quality, really want to make it work
Feircy is it possible that your PC isn’t using the most recent updated Bluetooth technology? Just a thought, and I could be completely wrong. Other than that, it’s possible that something is running under the hood in your PC that is causing some kind of lag. Or perhaps there are other devices using the same radio frequency as your Bluetooth, which would cause connectivity and speed issues - wireless phones (not cellphones), microwaves, too many things using a 2.4g wireless network in the vicinity...
Highest tension setting is actually not the same as the 360. And the lowest setting is not the same as the xbox one. You made that up.

The "leather" rubber is garbage. I take very good care of my controller, had an 360 controller for years until it started drifting on the left knob.
When i bought the elite controller, i noticed how one of my bumper keys weren't so responsive, was about to deliver it back, since this was noticed quite early.
I spammed that bumper key and that fixed it.. then I was like "Okey, well.. maybe it just was a bit slow" Then after 5-6 months, I suddenly noticed one morning that the rubber next to the top bumper key on the left side had gotten loose, i felt no glue under it, and when i tried to press it as it should be, it also seems like its not lining up like the other one on the right side.
It has annoyed me for 2 years and 4 months, but I did not complain on that to the dealership as they would prolly just call it "wear and tear" even tho it's not from wear and tear.
Others than that, i never used any accessories, stuck with the same knobs since i got it, only today changed the knobs just because why not, and I again put the buttons on the backside just for the esthetics, not really going to use them as you can only program those buttons to either LB,RB, LT, RT, X, A, B or Y. which I did not find any use for.
I know you can program the buttons for other purposes, OR if you just want to have shorter trigger hand, but then again you can just adjust the settings on the back and your trigger will become short triggered.
I'm considering buying some epoxy glue, and just glue the rubber that is loose together, but the reason why I haven't done that yet is because when i try to squeeze it or set it in place, it does NOT fit snug and line up like it should, its as if the rubber has expanded and gotten 1-1,5 mm too long. But having it loose like it is is prolly more annoying than seeing that it doesnt fit snug like on the other side, which again can trigger OCD in my brain at least!
I had my 360 controller for about 7 years before i had to put it in a box and forever store it, it had started to drag on the steering knobs, which you can imagine is QUITE fed up when you drive a car or helicopter or a plane with the stick, so that's when i bought the Xbox one elite series 2, in march 2022.
It did last 7 years before it got a drift i could not live with! Still works today, but not really using it, just collecting dust stored in a box inside a handmade chest that i store stuff in lol!
I expected more from the elite controller since it cost MORE than 4 times as much as my 360 controller had for price.
The rubber that has gotten loose is the main and only thing I hate with the controller tbf. Bad glue job from the factory i guess... I hope epoxy will fix it, and that i DON'T have to cut in the rubber to make the fit snug.
Expecting this one to last me 28 + years before it drifts, i mean my 360 controller lasted 7 years before it started dragging to the left, everything else was and is still working fine on that controller, which puts my expectations up for no drift on the either of the knobs until it's 28 years of age ( based on how much it actually cost ) and that it will still work long after.
However the rubber flap is NOT a good start for those 28 years, and that was a huge disappointment .
What did the Xbox 360 controller for windows cost? It cost 33,79 USD. For that price i got the controller,, and a receiver so that it would work with my windows pc.
What did i pay for the Xbox One Elite Series 2 controller? HAH! 182,66 USD.... WHAT a joke of a price if you ask me, but still i bought it...
It was either dumb of me to pay the price, or an investment... so far it has been a good investment except for the rubber flap that my brain NEVER will let me forget about lol!
