Those 4 extra buttons seem extremely useful. Especially in shooter games. This is a must have. Because if you don't have it, the people with it have the advantage

I agree. I'd much rather use rechargeable removable batteries. Having to plug it in when it dies is plain bullshit. Who the hell uses AA batteries in the controller? I never have since day one of the 360. I actually thought the rechargeable batteries was one of the coolest features xbox had over playstation....so much for that. I bet the scarlet controllers will be the same too
There is one huge thing missing from the software, on PC at least. And that is the ability to map keyboard keys and hotkeys to the controller buttons and especially to the paddles. That is the most logical and natural use for the paddles when using the controller with a PC. There is 3rd party software that allows you to do this. reWASD for example, but it should be in the official Xbox Accessories app.
My elite controller is really FK UP so I’m getting this controller for sure And i really mean FOR SURE cuz I’m in love with this controller just win i see it 🥰😍😍
I love my Elite (series 1) and preordered the Elite series 2 as soon as there was a SCU for it in the stores. I’ll give the old one to a guest player and use the new one myself.
stick drift sucks but it is unavoidable on any controller. you could try being gentler, or get the astro c40 which has easy replacement stick modules for $20. I highly doubt they did anything to remedy drift for the s2, otherwise they would have mentioned it.
They cheaped out! 100%! Never had an issue with it on all 6 of my 360 controllers, some very old. All treated bad! Then comes the new controllers, after 6 months of low use the thing fails to center. 360s have a stronger spring, the new ones are lighter, but fail fast. @@tomtalk24 360 has less tension... if youve taken them apart you'd know that they have very similar sticks to the xbox one... in fact every controller on the market uses the same plastic bs
Hopefully, they've fixed the design flaw with the left bumper being thinner on some editions, causing them to break. The 360 design was better, with separate bumpers, instead of being connected by a thin bridge of plastic.

You really only need one tall joystick they’re mainly for shooters and you don’t really need it for the left stick that is controlling where are you were looking it’s really more important for the right stick which is controlling your aim , gives you a wider movement range so you can fine-tune your aim better
So if the Project Scarlett comes out “Holiday 2020” that means it will be out this year or next year? since apparently the series 2 is coming out nov 2019

Ken Sanchez I think it is. I saw somewhere what looked an internal battery pack that said it compatible with Xbox one so it might be. I hope with a price point of 189, you could at least change the battery pack.
And im being fr now the elite will get used for maybe a year or two but battery gonna start sucking, better get a new elite when that happens because its probably not changeable
I'll say it again, but if you're using your controller religiously, play wired. This is supposed to be high performance. If you want to sit back in your couch, you'll be fine with rechargeable batteries.
@@suppressed_viii it is an xbox. Elite. WIRELESS. controller. It is not designed to be played 24/7 plugged it to avoid the dying internal battery. This controller is designed to be useless in 1 to 2 years and be purchased again its plain and simple. I tried keeping the standard elite controller wired and the usb port wouldnt connect properly, no drop no damage just sitting plugged in and stopped working. Sure this one uses usb c but its still not meant to be used exclusively wired. Please dont do this, this internal battery is not good. IT IS A 180 DOLLAR CONTROLLER THREE TIMES THE PRICE OF A STANDARD CONTROLLER. IT SHOULD BE STRONGER, AND LAST LONGER THAN ANY STANDARD CONTROLLER. THIS ELITE SERIES 2 WILL NOT LAST MORE THAN 2 YEARS EVEN WITH MODERATE USE DUE TO THE IRREPLACEABLE INTERNAL BATTERY DETERIORATING OVER TIME AND LOSING ITS ABILITY TO HOLD A CHARGE. THIS IS NOT A GOOD CHANGE. THIS IS NOT A GOOD CHANGE. THIS IS NOT A GOOD CHANGE. IT EASILY COULD HAVE BEEN PACKAGED WITH ITS OWN SEPERATE RECHARGEABLE BATTERY WITHOUT SACRIFICING THE LONGEVITY OF THE PRODUCT.
My normal One Controller BT got joystick drift after 6 months, so passed on a £150 version as felt MS cut down on quality. Battery is a £30 extra in the new one, I just hope we can replace them after their years life? And isnt some shady Apple glued in BS! Still no gyro? For me, its £180 just for my broken controller with 2 triggers I can use to change gears. May just buy the 1st gen 2nd hand. Keep in mind, an Xbox One X is £120 more than the controller, I think they may be taking the piss lol.
Worth every penny. I have a SCUF Prestige Xbox controller and an Elite 2 Controller. IMO the Elite 2 controller blows the Scuf Prestige out of the water. No steep learning curve. So easy to use right out of the box. Great vid.
I just bought this controller 1 week ago and I feel it is premium and works quite well for specific games. I will also buy the PS5 controller when it releases in January 2023, since I play on PC.
The paddles are a bit different shape and harder to press, so there is no accidental pressing and is probably more comfortable. The next gen xbox will support all xbox one accessories and I think games too.
All of your previous controllers and accessories, as well as games used or played on the xbox one will work moving forward. That has been confirmed multiple times. On the other hand, thanks for a detailed look at the controller
I don't understand why everyone thinks having an internal battery is a good idea. If you're in the middle of a gaming session and the battery goes dead... welp that's it. After a year its charge time is halved just like every other rechargeable battery and after 2 years that 40 hr charge time is more like 5 but your stuck with this internal battery that's so awesome. At that point you either shell out another 180$ for new controller or pick up a T8 torxs and soldering iron and change it yourself. All that unnecessary work when you could have just swapped it out with a rechargeable battery. Some of which can be plugged in directly anyway.
@@theReservedYT I'm not sure that's fair as the Xbox One was a definitive next-gen console and just like original Xbox One controllers are compatible with Project Scorpio (One X), I would only assume they would make this brand new controller compatible with Scarlett. Not to mention the controller and Scarlett were both announced at the same event. I'm not sure Microsoft/Xbox would purposefully not make it compatible, it wouldn't go down well. I don't know either but it doesn't make sense to me.
BEWARE! The first Elite had the identical guts as the standard controller for 60 bucks with the exception of the paddles which needed an additional board. The Elite also had massive "stick drift" issues, as well as plastic parts, breaking off "shoulder bumper" and grips. I would guess from the quality of the controller the unit cost to be about 15 bucks with the case and accessories costing about 10. I have heard so many horror stories of angry owners of this controller writing and calling Microsoft and all of their concerns fell on deaf ears. They knew that the controller was junk and still people paid that 159. price for it. Boggles the imagination. Now we have a new one for MORE....lol. As I said beware, Only a 90-day warranty? The first Gen took only about 45 to 90 days to fail. I will wait for a few months and I am sure to see the same very angry people again. I strongly recommend everyone do the same instead of trusting your hard-earned 179 bucks to a company that did not care about its customers the first time around.
I bought my elite controller 4 months ago. I've had to glue the grips multiple times, and buy replacements grips twice. I would definitely consider buying this controller if I didn't already have a series 1 controller. The new features like a internal battery, adjustable tension on the sticks, and 3 profiles aren't selling it for me. Especially after the problems I've had with the first one.
The thing I really liked about xbox controllers more than playstation controllers was the fact that I could change the batteries. I know a lot of playstation players make fun of xbox for having to replace batteries bit isn't that better than having a single rechargeable batter that you cant replace when it inevitably dies? I had a playstation remote that I could no longer use without keeping it plugged in because it couldn't hold a charge.
I just hope the grips are more durable and don’t peel off as the one I currently have one side is half peeling off but I like the fact the batteries are internal which will make it more lighter and comfortable

I love this controller.. the weight isn't really a problem for me because I play with my controller resting on a table. The price is great too, Microsoft is really on a role with this controller
Bro bro bro it has an option to make one button as a shift key usage to trigger different inputs while holding shift. Brooo this is now comparable to a keyboard. This is what an elit controller needed more button actions with out adding too many buttons. This here welcomes MMOs with many macros. And abilities. Im fucken buying this no doubt.
Iron Disciple I was disappointed when I bought the original elite controller and found out that I couldn’t map unique buttons to the extra triggers. In games like Elite Dangerous you can clearly see the PC crowd benefits from having all of the keys a keyboard provides. Unfortunately, without being able to map unique buttons on the elite controller, I found it a worthless purchase and returned it immediately. It will be interesting to see if they changed their mind on this like you’ve mentioned with extra input options.
As someone with an Elite v1 controller that's had multiple issues, I'm waiting on this. My grips bubbled and peeled off, my right bumper completely snapped, and I have a small amount of stick drift on my right stick. If Microsoft wants me to shell out another 180$ for this new controller they need to openly address some major points that I haven't seen too much on. namely 1. Part quality. I finally had a dreaded "broken bumper" that I've read a lot about, and I decided to open my controller up and replace them myself. the fact that those buttons are being held together by nothing more than a cheap, weak feeling piece of plastic is appalling for a supposed "competitive gaming" controller. It speaks volumes that I have Xbox 360 controllers that are 7+ years old that have NEVER had issues and this one had a button break about a year and a half in from normal usage. This isn't even getting into the stick drift, and the grips wearing off. All 3 of those need to be addressed and if they don't for whatever reason that brings me to point #2. 2. Warranty. The warranty for such an expensive device is absolutely pathetic. After noticing my bumper was super loose, I finally decided to see about sending my controller in. I couldn't even send it in, the automated section of the device repair website basically told me to just buy a new controller, complete with a helpful link to buy it on the Microsoft store. That's when I threw my hands up and decided to just take a crack at fixing it myself. My bumper is good again (for now), but I still have no grips, and the sticks still have some drift. If I'm not mistaken, Microsoft only has a 90 day warranty on this controller, which is extremely short. If they really want to draw in disillusioned people who have had issues with the v1, they need to feature a more robust warranty service for their device. I love my elite controller. It has some heft to it, which feels nice. The programmable paddles are an absolute godsend and I find it hard to play without them now. That being said, my reaction to the v2 elite is very lukewarm at best, and if Microsoft wants to advertise this as a "Pro gaming" controller, they need to walk the walk as well as talk the talk. I refuse to spend 180$ (which is basically the price of the One S console at this point) on a controller where I have to constantly worry about how I handle it and if it breaks a little down the road, I don't want to be shafted because the warranty only covers 3 months. I could even extend this to their consoles, because I'm debating on cracking my One X open due to the console shutting down from overheating, but that's a whole other can of worms and I've rambled long enough.
Everyone seems all toe-curling excited about an internal battery, but My question is will you be able to replace it yourself or will you have to send it in for “servicing” and thus accrue more charges? Rechargeable batteries don’t last very long in reality and that could get quite expensive over the course of time. I’m not really behind an internal battery frankly from a consumer point of view.
Only problem is if you have the triggers set to hair triggers (at max adjustment) the adjustment lugs would be in the way of your middle fingers and could be annoying after a couple hours of gaming
I love my Elite Series 1. It’s lasted me 4 years with no issues other than bumpers breaking(but that’s a widespread Xbox controller issue, not just the Elite), and the matted grips falling off. I’m definitely getting the series 2.
@@knowwork9 I’ve retired my Series 1. It served me well. I’ve had my Series 2 for a little over 2 years now and I’m still pretty satisfied. My only major gripe is that the top left and top right paddles are starting to get to a point where I have to press down really hard to input making double tapping them almost impossible nowadays. Overall, 4/5.

My question is if Microsoft will be using newer analog modules so we won’t be experiencing analog drift only weeks after the controller is purchased.
Those 4 extra buttons seem extremely useful. Especially in shooter games. This is a must have. Because if you don't have it, the people with it have the advantage
The controller is going to work with Scarlett.
Phil Spencer said at E3 that all accessories will move forward and work with the Scarlet
Why does every review never talk about the bumpers, how do they feel?
probably the same as all the other xbox controllers with the updated bumpers
Ryley Diggle-Snow I remember hearing something about the Elite v2 that the bumpers were different than the original Elite
No ones had a hands on yet. So who can say how they feel?
what are you talking about there has been many videos of people holding the new controller talking about it especially at E3 and none of them talked about the bumpers
@@n8than618 cus its E3 lol. Maybe wait for the hands on. Not some trade show.
The thumbstick styles are called domed and concave.
Things to know, it’s stunning. Just upgraded my Elite 1 to series 2.
its junk. feels so cheap
Is it still working??
@@maddawgzzzz just got mine it now makes the regular controller feel like a cheap toy idk wtf you talking about or you dont have it its much heavier and premium feeling with the metal buttons feels like a damn gun
@@Cazanu417 had one.. it ended up breaking 5 days in. stick drift
The joy stick tuning is actually really cool
I prefer removable batteries. Kind of disappointed about that.
Same. I get worried about the battery stuffing up one day and then it's a over, can't replace these batteries. Maybe for $200 or something
Agreed. Me too.
Get the first elite controller...still takes batteries
I bet the scarlet controllers will be the same too
@Ani-kun I've had one for a year and have absolutely no issues
Microsoft has already confirmed that their controllers will be forward compatible
Lucious Mesch as will the games
There is one huge thing missing from the software, on PC at least. And that is the ability to map keyboard keys and hotkeys to the controller buttons and especially to the paddles. That is the most logical and natural use for the paddles when using the controller with a PC. There is 3rd party software that allows you to do this. reWASD for example, but it should be in the official Xbox Accessories app.
Had my elite controller since launch. Hasn't broken one bit.
God same here
I'm on my 5th.
@@p0tent49 what are you guys doing to them lol.
Good for you God. Your in the minority.
My elite controller is really FK UP so I’m getting this controller for sure And i really mean FOR SURE cuz I’m in love with this controller just win i see it 🥰😍😍
Question: are the batteries replaceable of it gets worn out??
Nope batterys won't be replacesble so sell your kidney for £1000 and get a years supply of elite series 2
it doesnt matter just use the cord and make it a wired controller. u also get the benefit of no latensy as a result
Karnage Gaming that would b uncomfortable having kids around..
For a causal gamer like me makes no sense who just plays story campaign games I don't care I can't trust having my battery blow up while on wired lol
Ali express.
I love my Elite (series 1) and preordered the Elite series 2 as soon as there was a SCU for it in the stores. I’ll give the old one to a guest player and use the new one myself.
Any update on Stick Drift, i had drift issues with more than one of the origional elite.
Every controller grows stick drift try increasing the dead zone it helps out with minor controller drift
stick drift sucks but it is unavoidable on any controller. you could try being gentler, or get the astro c40 which has easy replacement stick modules for $20.
Cheap cheap cheap cheap cheap £150 controller. Hello Apple lol.
THIS
Are the bumpers still made of plastic? Razer Wolverine is the best imo.
Jed the razer wolverines have major design defects and flaws I’d rather take the elite
@@camwoods2471 care to elaborate? Haven't had any problems with mine but it's pretty new. All my Microsoft and scuff controllers break at the bumpers after 1-2yrs

No internal fucking battery
The headphone adapter possibility
And only elite 1 has all that
But wire would be nice too
i have the gen 1 elite controller, got it on release date and still use it today, bumpers broken and my grips are held on by super glue, 1000s of hours of gaming and its still doing its job, i would totally recommend getting one of these if your on edge.
This should have been released two years after the first elite controller not ten years later this is way too late
I didn't buy the first elite controller so i'll definetly pick this one up. Thx good vid.
Yes it has been confirmed work on the new Scarlet console
Mine is on Pre Ordered... this is the controller as a gamers which I have been waiting for, for a long time. I have the series one Elite controller and it’s brilliant.
Who’s ready for The new Xbox elite series 2 controller???? 🙃
Elite Jamesss ✌️
Nigga naw the first elite is to much the first is enough and the paddles is all I need
Elite Jamesss lol I am plus I’ll be lucky because when it comes out I have to wait on the 9th and that will be my b day so I can get it
Iv fix my elite about 3 time I'm so looking 2 this one also
quavent I can’t afford one but I wish you will get the new controller so you can make your gameplay better happy b day god bless you
You really only need one tall joystick they’re mainly for shooters and you don’t really need it for the left stick that is controlling where are you were looking it’s really more important for the right stick which is controlling your aim , gives you a wider movement range so you can fine-tune your aim better
So if the Project Scarlett comes out “Holiday 2020” that means it will be out this year or next year? since apparently the series 2 is coming out nov 2019
I preordered that sick controller and iam hyped af😂😂⌛️⏳😍
Vricy Gs tell me info about the sticks will you?
Aursn - So i use the Standart Sticks tall and normal a bit and the domed one..One the upper legt i have the domed and on the right i have the Standart Shirt one..The Sticks and the controller are high quality and there are no Bad news about this controller...I love it and play every day with it..👌🏻🙈
Nice
I hate how the battery is internal. If it's irreplaceable I won't get it.
Ken Sanchez I think it is. I saw somewhere what looked an internal battery pack that said it compatible with Xbox one so it might be. I hope with a price point of 189, you could at least change the battery pack.
Yea this one thing almost makes me not want one
Why would you want a built-in battery.
I prefer removable rechargeable batteries.
Elite controller one is already better than two
Worth every penny. I have a SCUF Prestige Xbox controller and an Elite 2 Controller. IMO the Elite 2 controller blows the Scuf Prestige out of the water. No steep learning curve. So easy to use right out of the box. Great vid.
I hope that Microsoft makes it that if you pre order the xbox scarlet you get this controller with it.
I just hope the shoulder buttons don’t snap off after 8 months.
I feel like most people saying “ I hope the grips don’t fall off” are just riding the trend
Was I the only one that broke 2 RB buttons? I hope they fix that... I can play with out grips.
I just bought this controller 1 week ago and I feel it is premium and works quite well for specific games.
I will also buy the PS5 controller when it releases in January 2023, since I play on PC.
xbox elite controller series 2.. with xcloud on my note 9 will be awesome!!!
Yes it will most definitely work with all xbox one consoles and Xbox Scarlett.

I’ve gotta keep saying this to myself.
Ecua- 73 i got the elite 1 then 2 months later this was released so I am mad I did not wait
The paddles are a bit different shape and harder to press, so there is no accidental pressing and is probably more comfortable. The next gen xbox will support all xbox one accessories and I think games too.
If y’all were to see my elite controller now 💀
The back is peeled off.
And both the bumpers unstuck all while the color is fading away
Somebody doesnt know how to respect technology.
On my elite controller the right stick get pressed up a tiny bit on any game
All of your previous controllers and accessories, as well as games used or played on the xbox one will work moving forward. That has been confirmed multiple times.
On the other hand, thanks for a detailed look at the controller
The new Elite 2 Controller: made to break even FASTER!
2 years later and it's still an absolutely amazing controller
$180?? More like $200 plus tax
Can I use this on the next xbox?
yes it is confirmed by Phil Spencer in a interview

Not sure why you would think it wouldn't be compatible with Scarlett.
TechTheory Maybe because 360 controllers weren’t compatible with the Xbox one... he made the video before they announced it would be compatible
So joystick XBOX ELITE CLASIC is a compatible for the the New ELITE 2??
Yeah
Yeah I’m getting. Simply for the new 3 trigger adjustments and adjustable joystick tension.
#1 thing to know - it's way way way too expensive for any normal human
been using my elite controller since they first launched can't wait for the series 2 of it
Xbox we are currently making a new xbox console
Also Xbox WERE GONNA make a new controller that takes longer
And its $180
The thing I really liked about xbox controllers more than playstation controllers was the fact that I could change the batteries. I know a lot of playstation players make fun of xbox for having to replace batteries bit isn't that better than having a single rechargeable batter that you cant replace when it inevitably dies? I had a playstation remote that I could no longer use without keeping it plugged in because it couldn't hold a charge.
Embedded Batteries are cancer on consumerism,
I just hope the grips are more durable and don’t peel off as the one I currently have one side is half peeling off but I like the fact the batteries are internal which will make it more lighter and comfortable
Warrior J Gamer same
It would come out the day I buy the regular elite
Nick Gurr don’t get it I had it for just a few months and had problems with it alreafy
So that’s why i might get the series 2
quavent did you buy it new?
How much did they pay you for this video
Why should Microsoft pay him money He just discusses the New Elite controller are you jealous?
Jannik Schubert hes jealous

So no words on the interior at all? Did they fix the faulty bumpers? What about the stick drift and looseness. Dpad double clicking?
They said that the bumpers and grips have been redesigned
@@brian5514 The sticks tho? they drifted like crazzy after a while. And thats not only for me this happend to many. Its not even usable with the drift :(
@@lorden95 i mean they say it's redesigned from the inside out so i guess so i personally never had those issues the only thing that i got was that the grips started coming off after like 2 years but i just glued them back on so idk.
Totally Original never had grip problems myself. But 2 broken sticks and 1 broken bumper. Never dropped and always kept in case. So it’s really on them and not me. Didn’t get lucky I guess.
Can Xbox one and scarlet players play together or is it going to be completely different like the 360 and the one
It'll probably be like the one and the x, more powerful but otherwise the same
I hope they redesigned the construction of the bumpers.
great video man
It is comparable w/ Project Scarlett, so it is basically the ultimate gaming controller right now.
This goat 🐐 of controllers
As someone with an Elite v1 controller that's had multiple issues, I'm waiting on this. My grips bubbled and peeled off, my right bumper completely snapped, and I have a small amount of stick drift on my right stick. If Microsoft wants me to shell out another 180$ for this new controller they need to openly address some major points that I haven't seen too much on. namely
I guess I better fire up my soldering station, lol. Stick drift, broken buttons.
let's hope they fixed the wobbly sticks and weak bumper buttons
i would definitely be interested as someone who has gone through more than 8 elite controllers in 2 years i just hope the build quality has increased
you’re just irresponsible and cant handle pricey things..
I love my Elite Series 1. It’s lasted me 4 years with no issues other than bumpers breaking(but that’s a widespread Xbox controller issue, not just the Elite), and the matted grips falling off. I’m definitely getting the series 2.
how is it with you bro i will buy 2nd hand one tomorrow
@@knowwork9 I’ve retired my Series 1. It served me well. I’ve had my Series 2 for a little over 2 years now and I’m still pretty satisfied. My only major gripe is that the top left and top right paddles are starting to get to a point where I have to press down really hard to input making double tapping them almost impossible nowadays. Overall, 4/5.
