Water getting into the tonneau cover, as long as it’s not flooding, shouldn’t be an issue. It's meant for cargo transport not waterproof transport; the cover is designed primarily for aerodynamic purposes and safe keeping. Water entering inside the seating area would be a real problem, but I don’t think they would ship any cars like that unless it’s faulty.
I cancelled my CT order, need to wait more until they get everything fix, way too many bugs even after 10 months of production. Thanks for this amazing video.
You can also switch to neutral through the carwash menu. And you guys have people in dress shirts and ties working at the carwash? That’s fancy, to say the least.
@@MyGadgetsWorld You need to hit the brake to enable the Enable Free Roll button. I tried to switch on my Model Y using the gear selector and I failed lol
We have a 2021 Model 3 purchased new and delivered to our house on December 31, 2021. It's a 2021 model year vehicle. Tesla doesn't start making next year vehicles in the present year. Manufactured in 2024 means it's a 2024 model. Manufactured in 2025 means it's a 2025 model.
Hi Khurram, Can you please tell me if you always used carwash for your FD CT and NonFD CT? If yes, does it scratch your stainless steel? And any ammonia in the washing process they use? Because ammonia damage the protective layer of stainless steel. This layer protects it from rust as well. Thank you
On the car wash topic , The high speed dryer is too harsh on the repeaters for my 2023MY so be careful with that as I had to use warranty to get the left one replaced due a faulty seal (likely due to the car wash)
With PPF, you can't take it to automatic car wash. The PPF can peel off with high pressure or brush rolls. You plan on manually washing each weekend by hand?
Not really. There are just gaps from where water can escape but not an actual drain. Only drain is in the cooler where there is a cover that can be opened to drain ice water.
Hello, I like your videos about the non foundation Cybertruck. Where I live we have only V2 150kW superchargers. Could you pls make video on charging from 10% to 80% on a 150kW charger. Many Thanks!
I have a Y and the car wash mode suppose to set N for you but twice already it does not work. U do have to manual change to N cause you cant rely on the car to auto change to N.
With that style mechanical self storing cover, expecting it to remain totally dry is not realistic. The bigger issue will be in real winter conditions when it becomes frozen and hence inoperable. Peace
De-icer liquid could help and also using WD-40 or other water displacement products on bed cover moving parts is beneficial. The doors, locks, hood and trunk lid of any vehicle can freeze shut.
@@dvader3263 I’m pro Tesla and will be buying a CT soon. So I wasn’t poo-pooing the truck. My comment is real and valid. De-icer? You going to buy it by the 55 gallon drum? WD-40? It is slippery water that evaporates within 1/2 hour. IE: it’s a total crapola product. Come to grips with the fact that the cover will come with real winter weather issues. Peace
Dude, as much money as you've spent on the CyberTruck, you cant find the time to wash the truck? If you going to take any of your vehicles to a commercial car wash, I would recommend a car wash that uses just the spray foam and wather jet technology. Zero chance that it wll get damage by spinning coth brushes. Best way would be to get a foam cannon, a high pressure water spray gun, high quality soapy. After cleaning it use a ceramic coating and truck will just need be just spray washed. Better yet go get it detailed and have the detailer put the ceamic coating for you. I might not have a vehicle that over 90k but I take the time and take care of it like it's worth 100k, Just saying
Kind of sad this vehicle was touted to be bullet proof. The dream vehicle for the apocalypse for silicone Valley cybernerds cant even go through a present day car wash without failure
You have to either press neutral or press Free Roll on the screen which is same thing. I have successfully used car wash many times and it is one way to do it even with Teslas instructions at the bottom of the screen. Thanks for your comment

Sure, I will try that. They are very professional. Love going there
Very impressive for the efficiency for the 600 miles.
Got similar car wash in South Florida, it’s called Rising Tide.
Nice
First comment from you neighbor at 77407 . Great to see you back.
Thank you Neighbor. Appreciate your comment
I believe you can also find the Neutral setting on the control option to the right by pressing and holding for three seconds.
You can select “Enable Free Roll” on the lower right screen in car wash mode rather than putting the car in N with the overhead button.
I wonder that too but it never works for me. I have been using N for my model Ys and never had issues. Free roll has been hit or miss
@@MyGadgetsWorld You need to hit the brake to enable the Enable Free Roll button. I tried to switch on my Model Y using the gear selector and I failed lol
Good Video
Thank you 😊
Why didn’t you use the enable free role option instead of manually putting it in neutral ??
My Rivian bed is super dry after car washes.
Thanks for sharing info on the new non foundation cybertruck. Is this considered a 2024 or 2025 model? What does it say on the Monroe sticker?
It is 2024 . They haven’t started 2025 yet. They usually do that in November/December

Since there is no paint , so hopefully that is fine. I am more worried about water intrusion in the truck!
I’d NEVER take my MY through a car wash!!!

Why should you not put your PPF in a car wash? You speak strange words man.
@wolfgangpreier9160 that's what I heard about any type of wrap. There is a risk of it peeling off the wrap with any automatic car wash.
With PPF yes I can easily clean. But bare stainless is not easy to clean
@@MyGadgetsWorld Simpley cheap glass cleaner with spiritus works.
is there an opening for the water to drain out? or would it continue collecting if you kept doing this everyday?
Thanks for sharing!
Not really. There are just gaps from where water can escape but not an actual drain. Only drain is in the cooler where there is a cover that can be opened to drain ice water.
@@MyGadgetsWorld ah thank you!
next time can you go in the car wash with the bed open? to see how it cleans and if it stays as tough as it supposed to?
Like the old sunroofs the cover probably relies on gutters which can be overwhelmed by the amount of water used by a car wash.
my guy is this cybertruck a lease?
i wish there was an auto car wash for high roof sprinter vans!

Just do a search on TH-cam and there is a fix for this. You just have to replace the rubber seals to a better one.

Yes, that is why I don’t use free roll. I always put the car in manual like any other car
I get the sentiment but you def gotta do brushless.
You are right for painted cars. Brushes scratch the paint. The CT can hardly be scratched at all.
Did they fix the bed leak on the Foundation one you had?
Nope under specification they say !
1:07 😂😂😂 Right!!!!
😂
I prefer hand washing it myself and not wrapping it. Small leak in trunk is not a big deal.
Quick qack is $22 for unlimited washes per month I have it too
This is new , first month 9.99 was great then 22.99

Lol. True
Just press the Enable Free Roll within the menu instead of pressing neutral.
Thank you. I actually try that but never works for me. I will try again
I also tried multiple times. It doesn't work half the time. I press the enable free roll button but nothing happens.
I don't know a single pickup truck with ANY cover will have water with high-pressure water.
Why are you pressing neutral if the car is in car wash mode? You need to learn how to activate the mode properly
