I loved everything about this book! From the playful cover to the kick-ass ending it just delivered, for me. It made me want to know more about everything that was going on at this time but also made me really want them to not rush Andy's growth. I don't know another kid aged up before their time. I'm a new Aquaman fan but I fell pretty hard once I "took the plunge", so it's possible that this just really was a title for me and not others, as you mention. Thanks for giving the book some love and can't wait to hear what you have to say about part 2 when it arrives.
This issue is one of the reasons I hate Future State and will never read it. I feel I would *really* like this issue and the story. However, it will end in less than a month. Great characters, but no time to do anything with them. This has been done before, and the companies don't learn.

This seems really fun, and the dark moments didn't feel overdramatic. I haven't really liked Jackson Hyde of rebirth because, even though he's supposed to be like Aqualad from Young Justice, he's just not as cool in the strong silent type as his cartoon counterpart. But this issue makes him seem a lot more interesting as a character with his relationship with Aqualass/woman rather than just "like him because he's from Young Justice."
I knew something was off with the cover especially that pose of Aquawoman blocking her feet and monster blocking it. Lol Besides that I actually really like this story, it sounds absolutely fun. The adventure, trial, artwork, banter and more. Wow... I’m exited for something Aquaman based, okay future state you have surprised me.
Rather be Aqualass it sounds better and elegant But a storm theme name is cool too, Imagine the possibilities mine would be totally be Haukea, Haunani, Overcast or Kasumi I won’t give up a limb for a friend, no part of me is worth that.... I’m not making that kinda devil deal.
The timeline of this one confuses me, it's supposed to take place in 2030 but that would put the flashback stuff only about 4 years in the future, which is not enough time for Andy to grow up this much. It would make more sense in the flashbacks were 2030 and the rest was in 2036 but I would assume the date they give is where the main story takes place.

I always get super excited when people lose limbs in comics because of the killer cybernetic arguments they eventually get. Andy probably won't get that treatment as a water-based superhero, but the concept is always awesome
I would love to see that the reason Andy was still alive was because the leg she severed grew into a second her, like with a starfish. They probably didn't do that, but it'd be cool.

I liked this issue, but it was a bit frustrating. I wanted more Andy. But the structure was cool, the art was solid. And Andi losing a limb like her dad was metal. I like Aquaman, and wish more people would too. Movie made a billion dollars!

The only Aquaman title I read from start to finish is Aquaman & the Others, so I'm not the normal Aquaman fan. This I originally thought about picking up because of Jackson and then Andy was so much fun in JL too. So glad I read it. The creative team did something special with these characters. It's definitely one of the books I wish could continue as some kind of Future State imprint.

I was going to skip it. Then I read the comments all over various blogs and the DC Instagram. The racism and the homophobia and the 'Everything is so woke man' BS, so I decided to give it a go. I'm not an Aquaman reader but I loved this. The shock value was present but it wasn't done cheaply. I love Jackson and maybe it was partially my love for Kaldur on YJ that encouraged me to take the chance but I also want more representation of a gay Aquaman who is a person of colour. I really liked this flashforward approach. Plus they went Nightwing-esque beefcake with the art and I was here for that! I may have partially bought it out of spite for the phobes and racists but I'm here for more. Great video Sasha as always.
I love Jackson’s character design and legacy characters in general. I also love the representation he embodies. I’ve never really been interested in Aquaman but I’ve always thought there was so much potential in the ocean setting. The idea of inter-dimensional oceans and going on a journey to these different worlds where the main characters basically have ocean-based abilities. it’s Bad ass and very interesting. Not only that but the relationship between the two main characters is great and it has so much potential. Plus BEEFCAKE. I feel like this story would’ve benefited from having these elements a bit more longform. I love the concept of future state in general. It makes the World feel like it’s actually progressing and it feels like the new generation is coming. Not only am excited to seeing you superheroes but seeing legacy characters and how they differentiated from their predecessors ability wise and character wise. It’s like the worst fulfillment of people who watch my hero academy it and desperately want to see the next generation have their own adventures.
Remind me is there a Black Canary, Doctor Fate or Hawk Woman Future State cause I hope they're next you've already covered my other faves (Aquaman, Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman)
Andy reminds me of Amethyst and Debbie Deep Blue Perkins both of which were two of my faves that I wanted brought back in rebirth so I'm definitely gonna read this
The journey across worlds trying to get home would have turned it into Reboot! but with DC characters. I suspect that's why it didn't happen in the comic. They probably wrote it up, realized what they were doing then stopped, lamented their forgotten childhood and gone out for a drink.
I agree. This is an interesting issue and it really left me wanting to see and read more. The concept of interconnecting oceans throughout the multiverse intrigues me, probably better than portals and wormholes. As for Future State, there is a discontinuity disconnect between the different principle characters, a world of their own scenario given that this is a state in their particular corner of the multiverse. Gotham City occupying a pocket corner of the Universe while Metropolis exists in a different realm. I'm beginning to wonder if this will lead to their own multiverse crisis with the creative teams of each Future State title vying for an ongoing series in a collective Universe.

FS: Aquaman was surprisingly my favorite book of that week. Mera has always been the more interesting character between her and Arthur, it'll be nice to see Andy be the prominent aqua figure without Arthur hogging the spotlight(hopefully). The art was fantastic and confluence is a neat idea. I can do without Jackson but he presents a suitable foil for her and I'm sure his fans appreciate the showcase. This story kinda reminds me of Enzo Matrix from Reboot, that old CGI show, growing up jumping from game to game til he became a badass while he traveled with that other video game character (who's name escapes me).
