Hey, heroes! I'm streaming on Twitch again this weekend! On Saturday I'm starting Final Fantasy III for the PSP, and on Sunday it's Yakuza: Kiwami 2! www.twitch.tv/merrymarvelite
I'm hoping that with the Multiverse opened up, there will be an Invaders film set during the Second World War in our future, with the full cast: Captain America, Bucky, the Human Torch and Toro, the Sub-Mariner, Union Jack, Spitfire, the Destroyer, Citizen V . . . !
I admit it would've been cool to see destroyer, whizzer, thunderer, and such in Captain America The First Avenger, but I can imagine the reason they didn't have them, was because they wanted to keep the focus on Captain America. I mean when you try to throw in too many heroes into a movie that's suposed to be about the title characters it becomes a mess, case in point, Batman V Superman Dawn of S**T!
Its great to learn about less explored corners of the Marvel U and it's so cohesive that a die hard fan can learn plenty of new information about their favorites.
@@sneezediamonds Agreed. There's always something new to learn from the channel! I've been a Marvel reader for a long time, and I love finding information I didn't know!
That 'Destroyer' mini-series from 2009 by Robert Kirkman and Cory Walker is one of my favorite comics of the last 20 years. I did'nt remember the Destroyer character when it came out, even though I have all those old Invaders comics from the 70's, so in a way, this was my introduction to the character. That was a fantastic story, great writing, and great art, as one would expect from the original team who brought us 'Invincible'.
It would be awesome to get a video entirely about the Golden Age (and modern day revisits of the Golden Age) and a rundown of everything that happened during WWII in the Marvel Universe.
The Destroyer ! Stan Lee was 17 years old when he created this , his very first superhero . The Destroyer mask bears a strong similarity to a much later Simon/Kirby character Manhunter .
Love the video and your content I kinda like the golden age, heroes and kind of sad they don’t get talked as much I mean in DC there’s a ton of golden age heroes that are so around, but in marvel, that’s kind of small the only golden age heroes that are still around in the modern day and Marvel Captain America Bucky, the original human torch, Turo, and Neymar I want to learn more about the golden age marvel heroes, so can you at least make a video about those heroes at some point? Also, you’re a good narrator
The Destroyer (Keen Marlow) was one of Timely Comics' most popular and long-running superheroes, outlasting all the others except Captain America, Human Torch, and Sub-Mariner. Therefore I curse Roy Thomas for so cavalierly rebooting the character as a mere exercise in convoluting the story of Brian Falsworth (Union Jack II). He attempted to totally erase Keen Marlow from Marvel history, and then had Falsworth promptly cast the Destroyer identity aside, never to use it again. So thanks to Robert Kirkman for finally restoring the *real* Mighty Destroyer to Marvel Universe history in 2009. Keen Marlow lives!!

Kudos to you for untangling such a complicated history. I have a few of the Invaders and Thunderbolts comics Roger is in and he is a cool character. I am familiar with the Destroyer and I have always loved his costumes. His V-Battlaion costume is particularly cool.
His design is very similar to classic Drax The Destroyer. The design was probably a direct reference, but i was wondering of they ever connected the two
An enjoyable video detailing the tangled history of The Destroyer. Personally, I would have liked a little publication background before the events of the canonical timeline. Destroyer, Citizen V & the V Battalion originated from the 1940's Timely comics, while The Invaders, the Crusaders and Union Jack were all created in the 1970's and retroactively added to Marvel canon. I might be wrong about Jack, though - I'm going off my memory rather than any actual research. Please don't yell if I'm wrong!
