Great series of videos! This has to be one of the best finishing videos I have seen. Very well explained and just the right amount of details. Thank you for all you do!
What a great finishing project! Thanks for a great CSU project. Hopefully, there's going to be another session with more great tips, tricks and finishing ideas!
Thank you, Kimberly! I’ve been avidly stitching for years and I’m still learning with your Cross Stitch University. I have started teaching a friend to stitch, and we watch your videos together.
Thank you Kimberly the finish is great, I never thought of using sticky board. I had to start my cross over because of so many mistakes and I had cut through the adia. I will be posting picture's after its finished.
Thank you so much for this video. I have been trying to figure out this technique since I saw a video on TH-cam demonstrating it by sewing the pieces together. Well, I am not a sewer, just a stitcher. LOL I am going to try this method. Again, thanks so much. I love your your TH-cam videos and your Fat Quarter Shop! 🧡
Question, Kimberly. Why was hot glue chosen over the 2 sided sticky tape used on backs of other stitched pieces to keep corners & sides attached? The cording is a cute added border!
Hello Nancy! It varies from project to project. In this case Kimberly thought that hot glue would hold everything together better but you are welcome to use whatever you like.
Can you use your sticky dots or double sided tape instead of the glue? You make making a flat fold look easy. I made two a year ago. And I don’t remember anything, so thanks so much! ✂️🧵✂️🧵✂️
Hm...it looks simple enough. I thought you would have used the tape you sometimes use instead of the hot glue. Is there a time it's better for one or the other or is it just preference?
@@FatQuarterShopFlossTube I had the cross-stitch finished a while ago, but I just fully finished it today. It is easy. I didn't do the cording around it, although I might change my mind later.
Thank you!! Following your step by step I have successfully done my first ever flat fold 🤩
Making a flatfold has always intimidated me but you simplified the steps and I can follow them no problem. Thanks!
Look at those mad glue gun skills Kimberly! You go girl!
Nice way to finish with no frame to purchase; and easy flat for storage. Thanks, Kimberly : )
Thank you for this tutorial! It helped me immensely.
Thanks Kimberly. You made it look simple enough for all of us to try. Still learning after 40 years of stitching ❤️

Thank you for the lesson. It's easier than I thought. I enjoyed the video, but truthfully I could do without the annoying music. Thanks.

Hello Kathy! Yes, we recommend using glue but you can use what you feel comfortable with.
How did you cut the sticky board? What did you use?
Hello Kim! Kimberly used a rotary cutter to cut her sticky board. We have a demonstration here: th-cam.com/video/DWphMroV1xA/w-d-xo.html
would tacky glue work better than the hot glue gun?
Hello Ana! We have not tried tacky glue but you are welcome to if you'd like.
I am new to stitching and finishing my pieces. My question is could you use double sided sticky tape vs hot glue??
Hello Heather! Yes, you could use double sided tape.
@@FatQuarterShopFlossTube thanks for the reply! I’m about to make my first FFO as a flat fold 🤩🤩
Hm...it looks simple enough. I thought you would have used the tape you sometimes use instead of the hot glue. Is there a time it's better for one or the other or is it just preference?
Hello Heden! It's just personal preference.
@@FatQuarterShopFlossTube I had the cross-stitch finished a while ago, but I just fully finished it today. It is easy. I didn't do the cording around it, although I might change my mind later.
Hi Kimberly, nice tutorial. I don't have a good hot glue gun. Could I use a textile glue instead?
Hello Michaela! Any glue that has a permanent hold will work!
@@FatQuarterShopFlossTube Thank you ❤
