@@ThylineTheGay Theoretically yes, but the wiki isn't super precise and I don't feel like digging through the source on spawn caps. For anyone that tries making your own, make sure your world is in hardmode. Very easy to mix up the recluses and the regular spiders. I made a new for the worthy seed just for this. Now that I got my world in hardmode, it’s working great! Awesome video.
Yeah, I mean other than shaving a few ticks off the time it takes to hoik/teleport each spider theres not much more to optimize with this farm, maybe you'll be able to find a whole new farm that uses a different method
one thing to note about the spawn rate boost, as the spawn rate is capped at 60 ticks/mob, with 600 base * 0.9 hardmode * 0.4 cavern * 0.4 jungle * 0.75 water candle it is already down to 64, creating underground desert will only boost the spawn rate by like 6% (or maybe you can use a battle potion to hit the 60 cap). on the other hand, a underground desert itself with the cavern depth provides maximum spawn rate boost, so water candle will literally have NO effect here.

It may still be able to make it more efficient since the spawn rate will increase if u utilize more of ur spawn area. But idk for sure because there is a spawn cap anyway.
ah just noticed that the system is basically capped at the max spawn not the spawn rate as spiders don't die fast. the max spawn's cap is 15 which can be easily reached with (5 base + 1 hardmode) * 1.9 cavern * candle 1.5. the FTW seed provide a 1.2x multiplier after the cap being applied so it becomes 18. and because every spider count as 0.5 enemy you can see from the counter in the right that the two version of farms stabilize at around 30 / 36 enemies nearby. any other design add to it merely decrease the interval for "reviving" spiders which are not too useful actually
Knowing relogic's latest decisions, they'll probably change it such that... 1. Lucky Coin can no longer drop gold coins 2. Summons are not counted for this effect 3. Damage values below 5 are not counted for this effect
all you need is the lucky coin and spawned enemies can drop coins by damaging them(excluding enemies from statues) better to use weapons with lowest damage as possible with very high attack speed
I built the optimized farm and copied it from directly from a schematic someone got from Quasar (if any of you need it, it is in the forum comments linked in the description). However, I was not able to get the farm to produce 102 platinum per minute. I am not sure what exactly the problem is. I think it could be the summons not being in the correct position in the box, but I am not exactly sure. If you could find any reason why it wouldn’t be working or if maybe Quasar built something wrong and had to redesign it, letting me know we would be awesome! 102 platinum is absurd and not necessary but it would be awesome to get the farm working! Great video! Keep doing what you’re doing!
Hey! Having the same issue as another guy where the finches go through the walls even though I matched it 1 to 1, I am using a drippler statue and it is targeted, is that not the right one? (Note that I had to use 2 for block height as the dripplers otherwise escape)
Very obscure but I found an issue using granite golem statues with this. The finches will leave the box because granite golems become invulnerable which cancels the minion targeting. This is probably the same with any other enemies that can become invulnerable
it doesn't make sense to nerf if, because by the time you finish making this you could have already beaten the entire rest of the game. This isn't a farm you can make anywhere close to the start of the game
There's nothing to nerf, it's not working as advertised. In a normal master world (not FTW), you are basically getting 20 plat / 10 min with this method, or 120 per hour. Which is not that much better than previous top farms. And before they nerfed the statue farm (which used to work in multiplayer up until about 3 months ago), you could get 600 per hour in a regular seed. Try it in a normal world and see for yourself. It's nowhere near as broken as the video claims. Sure, in FTW/Legendary seeds you can get a lot more money, but I bet you won't be getting as much in a real playthough compared to a Journey mode setup. I've just tested it myself and noticed a massive difference. But in Journey mode you don't need money farms as you can just craft it.
Outside of FTW, not particularly but kind of. The money obtained from enemies dying is pretty much negligible, but higher difficulties allow enemies to survive for longer and decrease the downtime of waiting for spawns.

I also forgot about removing the buffs / summons / pets with right click so I went all the way from the underworld back to spawn (no hellavator yet) because that MF was trying to kill a voodoo demon OVER LAVA
(this is what dinochess told me, going off of memory here, might not be 100% accurate) the game, when attempting to spawn an enemy, checks a tile that is within valid spawn range that is not covered in a player-placed wall and does not have lava underneath it. If the tile is able to spawn an enemy, it spawns an enemy, if not the spawn fails and it tries again later. So by making sure all other tiles are covered by walls or lava, you'll make sure that no failed spawn attempts occur and the game doesn't waste time on those. Also, the depth of the lava doesn't matter but making it thicker doesn't change anything since you don't have to care about burning white rarity items.

So I’m building a farm with this same technique, with an 80x30 grid of sand blocks. But when I stand in front of the sandstone walls, the music doesn’t change to the underground desert and I can’t create this artificial biome. Am I missing something?
Would a underground crimson desert work also, I already have a world made for breaking everything but I just wanna know if the crimson part would help or no
I find the most effective farm with little to no set up needed to be the pumpkin moon. If you can get it to the final wave really fast I've gotten 102 platinum per night consistently and no setup is required.
absolutely awesome tutorial! I have 1 problem tho. I placed 1500 sand blocks, tried both: Sandstone and Infected Sandstone walls but I can't get it to play desert theme.
This is a great farm, but there's just one problem. Goblin Armies. If you AFK this, eventually, a goblin summoner will kill you. This is because when the Goblin Army invades, it sweeps over either the east, or west side if the map. This effectively gives you a 50/50 chance of encountering them before they invade. I tried this farm last night, woke up, 8000 DEATHS!! THEY STOLE MY 9999 PLATINUM!
Wouldn't this problem be solved immediately by just setting your spawn at a different location? The waves don't spawn if you aren't in the vicinity of your spawn point.
I built the simple farm but got a bit less money (around 2 platinum per minute). Is there a benefit to giving the summoning weapons like a broken modifier? I cant tell if that affects the minion damage output. Also, I find that I barely reach double digit spawns at once on a normal world. Finally, is it okay if I mirrored the spider spawning wall with a jagged wall on the left too? I had extra space. I could always move in the left farm boundary if that would help. Thanks for any feedback!
it shouldn't, spiders have a lot of defense. You should be able to see damage numbers popping up, if its more than 1 then something is wrong. Be sure not to use banners. If you're on a lower difficulty, the spiders might die faster/it could be harder to accumulate them.
@@sorbetcafe Thank you for the quick response! I am not too great with music, so do you use the shimmered sandstone walls or normal ones to make the biome?
I followed everything but my finch always leaves what did I do wrong I followed the hammering and the structure of the afk spot block for block but it doesn't work properly and my finch leaves
Btw for those who are experiencing the same situation just hit the spawned stuck mob with a whip too make sure that the minions only target him and they dont switch targets until in died. Thats how I fixed my farm and stopped the finches from leaving. Another tip if you don't have slime staff make a 10k celebration seed world so that you can buy one from the princess.

save it for later and come back, i still remember my first terraria machine, it blew my mind
Would a underground crimson desert work also, I already have a world made for breaking everything but I just wanna know if the crimson part would help or no
Finally we can kick the goblins butt with inflation!!!!
Don't know why this was recommended to me, last time I played terreria or watched it was back on my Xbox 360. Good luck with the content though
I love this farm and even tho i think that i did some mistakes the farm works beautifully.
Time for me to finish the game using the coin gun
Money farms when I place bars in a square and place a chest on top
alright, time to put my coin gun to use
I find the most effective farm with little to no set up needed to be the pumpkin moon. If you can get it to the final wave really fast I've gotten 102 platinum per night consistently and no setup is required.
HOW
@@leegaming7905 just use zenith or solar eruption with max spawn boost buffs.
@@therealkepler438b you mean like water candle and battle potion?
Little does this guy know I blew up my desert for no reason at all
This guy sounds like the "dedidaded wam" kid meme
I'm not sure why but my spiders are not teleporting and I've done the wiring and the positioning of the teleporters exactly as the optimisation.
absolutely awesome tutorial! I have 1 problem tho. I placed 1500 sand blocks, tried both: Sandstone and Infected Sandstone walls but I can't get it to play desert theme.
im having this issue too, can you let me know if you figure out a fix?
did you ever find a fix to this?
@@swifty3163 you just need more cursed walls... well at least that's how I remember it since I did it quite long ago
@@frxnzyy alr thx
@@swifty3163 did it work?
I am not too great with music, so do you use the shimmered sandstone walls or normal ones to make the biome?
shimmered ones, they'll have a skull on their sprite
@@sorbetcafe appreciate all the help 😁 I believe it was because I was using standard sandstone walls and not the dangerous ones.
Getting mid to high 20s spawns now after barely hitting double digits before!
Does it weawy give five pwatnum pew minute? Wow
I followed everything but my finch always leaves what did I do wrong I followed the hammering and the structure of the afk spot block for block but it doesn't work properly and my finch leaves
Btw I'm talking about the optimized version
Btw for those who are experiencing the same situation just hit the spawned stuck mob with a whip too make sure that the minions only target him and they dont switch targets until in died. Thats how I fixed my farm and stopped the finches from leaving. Another tip if you don't have slime staff make a 10k celebration seed world so that you can buy one from the princess.
@@jhakquezyx hey is there a reason why this video uses a finch, frog, slime, and flinx staff all at once? Can I just summon 8 slimes instead?
@@DutchVanDerLindePrime its because of the frame some of the summons don't deal damage even if its standing on top of the enemy except for finch and by using all 4 with only finch being the reused summon you can issure that you will be earning coins at the most efficient way possible. If you really want to learn more try to look for the link in this video's description that will explain about all the important and complicated terraria mechanic that the creator of the farm shared in his community post
@@jhakquezyx Sweet, thanks.
Why do the walls mentioned 6:14 increase spawn rates?
Anyone know the point of having different summons? I would assume the finch is the best (for whatever reason maybe it attacks the quickest)and that’s why u use multiple of those. So why not just go all in on one
This makes platinum coins for coin gun meta
maybe i missed it, but why does he make a desert and not any other biome? spiders are from spider biomes
2:04 (it's for boosting passive spawn rates, jungle biome work as well)
Beats me killing cthulu eye over n over
the question is where would you spend this money on, like even on my master walkthrough i always had more then enough cash
Idk whats wrong im on console the spiders wount get tp or realy random and my bird wont stay agro an my skelet because if i target it and try to spawn one its spawning inside the Skelett
