a quick tip for gettin amarok,hellfire/cascade is by spawning king slime (place gnome if you have one) and kill it in their respective biome, which is how i skip gradient, format C and chik right off the bat.
@@l0sts0ul89 i dont see any point of doing this when u can just summon king slime instead of going and mining a lot of biome blocks and building corruption biome in hell, while youre getting assaulted by many mobs both in corruption and hell
@@Agurets If you talking about getting hellfire, you dont really need a biome block, find the end of the corruption spread and you can spawn eow there (just build a small platform not far from the corruption to catch loot whilst staying in the corruption). if you're talking about getting amarok theres barely any enemy in the snow biome so you dont really get assaulted by anything. but that said, both ways are valid.
Really nice mod! I always thought yoyos were esentially "useless" because of the amount of farming you had to do to get some of them when you could just get a good sword in half the time. So a fix for that is perfect.
Not only you did a video about yoyo progression which is pretty interesting but you also MADE a mod to balance all things out ! Damn you really deserve this like + sub 👍👍
as with many things in Terraria, it was a neat idea that they chucked in a good framework for in one update, then didn't bother to refine or expand upon in further updates. you know, like the thrower class. or the concept of a final update. i have over 1,500 hours and could probably list more examples as i think of them, but that brief stint of throwing damage and yoyos are the 2 main ones.
Amazing video! The yo-yo is a really cool subclass but I have always felt like theres been a few things missing. This for me is definitely a step in the right direction. Thanks putting in the time and effort to make this mod
Really really good video, I've done hardcore master mode yoyo only runs a few times and it has always bothered me how weird the progression system is. Your ideas are great, and I hope relogic takes inspiration!
balanced yoyo progression ftw.. now they just need mechanics that allow for cool tricks.. for example holding left click should wind up the yoyo making it deal more damage and go further the longer you hold it ( with a maximum distance depending on yoyo) and releasing left click could inherit the momentum of your mouse movement creating your own velocity and maybe another mechanic to increase dmg via velocity.. Probably would have to lower the amount of time the yoyo can be out before winding it back in or w/e but I think it would incentivize a funner play style then just holding your cursor on the enemies face.. like imagine it being more effective to do an around the world trick to hit the guy behind you because you want to save the velocity (extra damage and speed) of the current yoyo swing
The problem with almost all Yo-Yos in the game is that they look boring and offer nothing but more damage in the later stages of the game. They are also literally all the same and offer no variety except for a couple of yo-yos with debuffs or creating damage particles. The only big difference in them is the different textures. The only Yo-Yo that looks unique just because it spawns green particles is Terrarian. This is very frustrating because by the time the class Yo-Yo gets something really cool looking, all the other classes get it already in pre-hardmode and at the stage with getting Terrarian even look like gods.
I think this mod does a perfect job in balancing how the yoyo's work in terms of progression, as well as some of the Stat changes as well as methods to have them. Very nice work from you!
I neber understood why there's not one useful weapon sold by the merchant for the other classes, just slightly weaker variants of craftable weapons if you can't be bothered to farm and somehow have not forked all your money to the tinkerer. Yet only the yoyo class relies for half it's class on the traveling merchant and even if he spawns which isn't that common you still need to be lucky enough that he has them. Amd they did the same dumb stunt with the skeleton mechant. I really like the op to just craft your to yoyos, just like you do with most weapons anyway.
at first i though the mod was a little extra to go out of your way, but apart from the balance changes, the crafting recipes are not half bad at all and made me wish Relogic would allow harder items to become craftable. the lastest addition by them for this was Magic mirror being crafted from glass, Diamond and Gold tier bars
Very nice video, definitely got my sub, but I think it would’ve been nice if you did a brief overview of why the yo-yo progression isn’t the best, you went over them separately but knowing the bigger picture would’ve been awesome, hope you see this!
Fun fact: Yoyos was the point where I realized I hate progression systems in games. The amount of fun I was having just enjoying the game rather than having to fuck around with creating an item so you can create another item so you can create another item. I wish so many games weren't so hierarchal with their progression system and just let players naturally grow over time.
Progression systems can be the main point of a lot of games, some games do have unnecessary progression stuff. I find that RPGs with level up mechanics really don't need item progression ontop of level progression (especially if the items have no special attributes other than higher attack/defense). There are also games that mostly focus on skill and item progression but add a mostly pointless levelling up system that doesn't really add anything of interest. There are also plenty of games that work perfectly fine without any upgrades and are simply all about the player's skill and level design. I dislike grinding, so any progression that requires grinding i dislike (generally most level up systems). One of the issues i have with progression in games is when upgrades and difficulty cancel each other out, like when all enemies scale to your level so that leveling up is essentially meaningless. I think that Terraria's progression mostly makes sense, the main focus of the game is to find and craft better items, it could just maybe be adjusted a little so that there were less items that feel pointless by the time you obtain them.
I wish more yo-yos had special effects to them, like the chik ignoring armour much like the blade staff, or the kraken generating a whirlpool that sucks enemies into it, or the artery having a chance to confuse enemies (idk what the malaise would do as an equivalent effect)
As a ranger, any time I was getting yoyo I compared it's damage to my current weapons, both maing ranged and my emergency sword an was like "are you kidding me? That's insultingly low".
I've always wanted to do a yo-yo only run but things always felt off, now I know why. Honestly I'm surprised that, 1: More yo-yos are not craftable and 2: There isn't some yo-yo Zenith thing where you combine all the yo-yos. Whenever I get around to trying out mods I'll give this a try.
Now try making summoner sentries actually good. As a summoner i dont mind the progression of the class it is what it is but sentries feel so useless. A big problem with summoner sentries is their function 90% of them shoot a single projectile (very slowly) and sometimes just miss.
That's amazing I wish yo yo progression was like this instead of the state it's in currently. I found a lot of yo yos out classed fast and some I never bothered to even grind for
Awesome video man, definetly fixes some of the issues with Yoyo's. Personally I think there should be more Yoyo specific accessories to boot, but this it pretty great either way!
I have played Terraria since 2013 when it was released on mobile and I played it on my iPad haha. I'm glad to see the game still gets innovative ideas from people I always have played vanilla Terraria but after this video, I think if I do a Yoyo progression playthrough I might consider this mod just to make the game less time-consuming. 🕒 Also, you deserve more subs for the quality of content I'm glad to see this video getting some highlights in this terrible algorithm youtube has today.🤖
Good ass video AND you literally MADE a fuckin mod, and broke it down to us, I came here cause I was lookin up guide videos and I was interested, but Im followin fasho!
I remember in one of my playthroughs the second I beat the wall of flesh a hellfire appeared on the ground. I forget what I even killed, but it was the first item that dropped since hardmode aside from the WoF loot
i would be cool to have yo-yo's as their own class with like class specific armor instead of it just being melee armor and maybe a better varity of yo-yos welp thats just my opinion
Well, it’s difficult if you’re gauging the looping yo-yo, and the non-looping responsive ones terraria uses. That’s also why they’re in different IYYF categories. Basically all that was a whole lot of yap for “they’re too different to compare.”
Incredible video, very well made. The mod you made is very good. My only complaint is how you replace the ways of obtaining yoyos by killing enemies with crafting recipes. It's much more rewarding to go out for one weapon and get it after maybe an hour of grinding, rather than be able to make it with some easy to get materials from around the world, some of which the player already has laying around. If the yoyos' drop rate is very low I think it's better to reduce it or buff the yoyo (which is worse, but still an option). And the Kraken recipe requiring shroomite is not good, because the shroomite mostly meant for the ranger gear and besides if a they want the optional claw and hoverboard, I don't think that a melee class player should have to go through the trouble of creating a glowing mushroom biome and farming glowing mushrooms all for one weapon. I still think that the mod is a good change and if it wa implemented to the game, the big improvements will completely outweigh the one complaint I have
This mode would have been so helpful during my yoyo progression... The grind for the yoyos, the wait for the travelling merchant, the attempts of finding skeleton merchant... It would be better without them, but it made the process kinda fun at the same time😂
As someone who did this challenge but hasn't beat moon lord and had their progression be Wooden, artery, hive five, amarok, yelets, eoc with there being no post planterra yoyo kinda sucks A post duke or lunatic yoyo would be better and that's a small change
WOW!! Cool yo-yo video!! I hope you can make a video about how to rework magic weapon progression (considering golden shower seems to dominate multi-role builds)

Okay that beginning animation was already good, but you definitely hooked my attention with the Total War “I just clicked on an enemy or settlement to attack” sound at around 0:08
I like how you just sold the yoyo to the traveling merchant and rebought it because of how rare it is to get it naturally lol
Someone noticed XD
I appreciate how you stage stuff within the game and the editing. Good job, keep it up ☺️
dang ur like the first person to notice that
Tbh terraria’s drop rates are abysmal in general for a lot of items
i had to kill 500+ fire imps so i could get One Single Obsidian rose
Man this guy only has 7 videos but they’re each super addicting
im working on another one :)
a quick tip for gettin amarok,hellfire/cascade is by spawning king slime (place gnome if you have one) and kill it in their respective biome, which is how i skip gradient, format C and chik right off the bat.
Eater of Worlds might be better I'm not sure.
@@l0sts0ul89 goodluck spawning eow in hell or snowy biome
@@Agurets just make a biome block, takes like 500 blocks iirc, the Amaork is better than the Hellfire so no need to get it unless your a collector
I love yellets too because when me and my friend saw the name of the random green yo-yo we literally started rolling around on the floor 💀
personally I'd give more yoyos special affects like the hive five and terrarian
Everyone complains about summoner
Meanwhile me using an absurd amount of birds to maul the Moon Lord to death
The best buff for yoyo would be making Yoyo Glove obtainable in pre-Hardmode.
Damn you really deserve this like + sub 👍👍
finally, a video i can link to my friends when i tell them i hate yo-yos
Let's goooooo
Found this on my recommended at 1am and I do not regret watching this
You have great potential, my friend
LOL i love in the mod showcase section, you're making the yoyos in a recreation of the Minecraft village blacksmith, thats such a cool detail
as with many things in Terraria, it was a neat idea that they chucked in a good framework for in one update, then didn't bother to refine or expand upon in further updates.
you know, like the thrower class.
or the concept of a final update.
i have over 1,500 hours and could probably list more examples as i think of them, but that brief stint of throwing damage and yoyos are the 2 main ones.
Amazing video! The yo-yo is a really cool subclass but I have always felt like theres been a few things missing. This for me is definitely a step in the right direction. Thanks putting in the time and effort to make this mod
The calamity mod does a good job of fixing yo-yo progression, but I would rather go bald than kill Devourer of Gods with only a yo-yo.
great video as someone who's favorite weapon type is yoyo's i will definitely be trying a playthrough with the changes :)
Nice
Really really good video, I've done hardcore master mode yoyo only runs a few times and it has always bothered me how weird the progression system is. Your ideas are great, and I hope relogic takes inspiration!
balanced yoyo progression ftw.. now they just need mechanics that allow for cool tricks.. for example holding left click should wind up the yoyo making it deal more damage and go further the longer you hold it ( with a maximum distance depending on yoyo) and releasing left click could inherit the momentum of your mouse movement creating your own velocity and maybe another mechanic to increase dmg via velocity.. Probably would have to lower the amount of time the yoyo can be out before winding it back in or w/e but I think it would incentivize a funner play style then just holding your cursor on the enemies face.. like imagine it being more effective to do an around the world trick to hit the guy behind you because you want to save the velocity (extra damage and speed) of the current yoyo swing
shoutouts to you for making rare weapons craftable, solves a huge issue i have with terraria single class grind
"Wooden yoyo, you can get it in the first 5 minutes of the game"
Bruh, it took me a whole hour just to barely get enough cobweb for it
I legit didnt know it existed until after I got the eye of cthulu reward yoyo from crafting. And I didnt even know it was a yoyo when I made it lol
Bro this is wayyy underrated, keep this up and you seriously got potential :]
I think this mod does a perfect job in balancing how the yoyo's work in terms of progression, as well as some of the Stat changes as well as methods to have them. Very nice work from you!
great editing, i was so surprised to see the channel only has 1k subs
Great video! I saw you trying to edit some vanilla stuff, glad to see that you made it work :)
You've got a pretty great style for how small the channel is. Hoping the algorithm pushes you out more and more. New sub ❤
Super well made video! I personally super enjoy yo-yos, I’m so happy you included the mod, too!
Still disappointed there’s no rainbow yoyo, we already have a rainbow string but no rainbow yoyo? It would be a perfect drop for Empress of light!
Great video! I usually don’t click on random videos but I’m glad I did! Amazing editing
Front facing terrarian can’t hurt you
Front facing terrarian:
I wish more yo-yos had special effects to them, like the chik ignoring armour much like the blade staff, or the kraken generating a whirlpool that sucks enemies into it, or the artery having a chance to confuse enemies (idk what the malaise would do as an equivalent effect)
I love that mod, it’s simple but balances the game in this aspect so well. Definitely earned a new sub
As a ranger, any time I was getting yoyo I compared it's damage to my current weapons, both maing ranged and my emergency sword an was like "are you kidding me? That's insultingly low".
Honestly, bro has got SO MUCH POTENTIAL as a terraria content creator
holy shit man you are underrated
nice editing skills, subsckrubed
Thanks for subsckrubing
you deserve it, man
I've always wanted to do a yo-yo only run but things always felt off, now I know why.
Honestly I'm surprised that,
1: More yo-yos are not craftable and
2: There isn't some yo-yo Zenith thing where you combine all the yo-yos.
Whenever I get around to trying out mods I'll give this a try.
Presented the problem, then went ahead and fixed it for us. Really cool video 😊
Great video, easy to follow with entertaining visuals. Reminds me of Svings earlier vids.
Svings is my hero
one of the best thumbnails ive seen on youtube period. if you made it yourself youre an amazing artist
Why am i just now seeing this
Now try making summoner sentries actually good. As a summoner i dont mind the progression of the class it is what it is but sentries feel so useless.
A big problem with summoner sentries is their function 90% of them shoot a single projectile (very slowly) and sometimes just miss.
nice mod, i thought it was unecessary at first but now it looks good and smart
your editing is good and i hope you blow up
good video! also dude called the Malaise the Malice.
Also, you deserve more subs for the quality of content I'm glad to see this video getting some highlights in this terrible algorithm youtube has today.🤖
Good ass video AND you literally MADE a fuckin mod, and broke it down to us, I came here cause I was lookin up guide videos and I was interested, but Im followin fasho!
I feel like with a name like the Kraken, not having it as a duke fishron drop was a bit of a missed opportunity
I would actually consider doing a yoyo playthrough with this mod! Definitely fixes a lot of issues with yo-yo progression
Red just watches and goes “So you want more yo yo’s?”
I'd say Ness's yoyo is more iconic than the Terrarian smh.
It would be better without them, but it made the process kinda fun at the same time😂
The world needs more people like you
As someone who did this challenge but hasn't beat moon lord and had their progression be
Wooden, artery, hive five, amarok, yelets, eoc with there being no post planterra yoyo kinda sucks
A post duke or lunatic yoyo would be better and that's a small change
As an mobile Terraria veteran who was been obsessed with yoyos, this mod is perfect, perfect, everything! Down to the last, minute, detail.
This is really stellar editing and presentation!
WOW!! Cool yo-yo video!! I hope you can make a video about how to rework magic weapon progression (considering golden shower seems to dominate multi-role builds)
I like the idea of upgrading yo-yos with previous ones
