Trash Boat's previous album was awesome! I saw them warming up for Enter Shikari two years ago and they were a huge surprise for me. Had so much fun seeing them live and I didn't even care for them that much until then. And also Poppy having 3 out of the top 11 songs is crazy. She had a great year!
Fixation is great, one of the best albums of 2024, but he should have chosen Random Acts of Violence for a "heavy list" even though Blue Skies is a better song. Also, Poppy's song should have been They're All Around Us with that Cowaaaard!!! intro.
Sleep Theory is the band that I thought Issues would have become, a metal band at heart but could easily transcend the genre with their boy band singer. The biggest difference is Sleep Theory succeeded this with their very first song they ever released while Issues couldn't do it after 3 full albums. I think Issues had a ton of issues within the band but they definitely laid the footprint for Sleep Theory to swoop in and become a heavy hitter in a very short time.
6:30 being at the top is pretty amazing, easily one of the best songs of the year aside with Necessary Evil and Chaotic for sure 🔥 Memphis May Fire did an amazing year with every single they release, I'm excited to hear the whole thing in March :"D

Alcest's Les chants de l'aurore is a newer shoegaze album you might like. Not exactly Nu Gaze though. Way on the other side, if you're open minded, listen to Xoth's Exogalactic. Came out last year but, I've not found a better album than it this year. They call themselves cosmic death metal. Very melodic, blackened, thrashy and kind of tech-death. Overall, just awesome.

I'm so glad you do this because I don't. I don't listen to any Spotify playlists EVER, I listen to full albums when I can but I do have my playlists for singles such as you, Stevie T., Anthony Vincent, Jared Dines, Oni, etc. If I'm being honest it seems actual albums are a thing of the past with the exception of Liliac, I've purchased all their vinyl. They have CD's too but they don't really do much for me, I prefer vinyl...I'm seriously old school leave me alone!!! lol If everyone made actual vinyl albums I'd be buying them SO DO IT!!!! Instead I'm buying t-shirts and other merchandise that I'm more than proud to wear don't get me wrong I'd still love to have more new vinyl in my collection as well. I don't have an actual stereo system to listen to them on but unless a major catastrophe happened (let's pray it doesn't) they have no chance of getting scratched or ruined. I just keep listening to them on Spotify BUT having a physical record to add to my collection would be awesome too. I don't drink either but if you were to see how much wine and other alcohol I have you'd think I'm an actual alcoholic!!! I can't say none of it's open, a couple of bottles but I didn't drink it my boys did and yes, they ARE of the drinking age just to clarify. I buy it for the bottle, the packaging or the label.
