    I'm a guitar player. I recently bought a DAW. Can't have a DAW without a keyboard so I bought a keyboard. Can't strum a keyboard so I tinkered around a bit. Sort of doing okay. Then I saw this video. Pretty cool. Played the 1st four patterns instantly. The 5th took a little to get the muscle memory happening. Lol....I subscribed.

    The fact you told people to practice a 4 note section to get comfortable tells me you’re a fantastic teacher.
    These “piano apps” had my daughter doing triad scales in the beginning. I’m like can we focus on like a c major scale first and get her comfortable with that. So bravo sir, I will definitely subscribe and have her watch your videos.

    I had piano lessons as a youngster - then my dad taught me some chords on a guitar (his old, old, old one!) then I was given a ukulele for my 9th birthday. Studied music in the library and then started buying penny whistles and harmonicas. Then had home-organ lessons. Started backing artistes at around 18/19 and then got into portable keyboards - played in a few bands, churches and have now risen to buying a Genos 2 - and you know what? I am still learning. Turned 60 this year and now realize that I need way more time than nature has to offer!! Enjoyed "going back to basics" and subscribed. Thank you CPA!

      It is incorrect for people to say that they are self-taught or that they are teaching themselves. Is more appropriate to say that by experimenting you are finding out certain things about how this music works. Keep investigating and eventually you will learn certain aspects of how music is done. Keep practices and you will get better at those things. But you can only teach yourself if you already know in which case you're not teaching yourself.

    Hi Josef, Thank you so much for sharing these amazing, empowering and beautiful patterns. Of all the things I have seen on TH-cam piano tutorials, this video is the one that I feel is most useful for a person like me trying to learn how to play the piano. It is so empowering and it made me feel I could actually sound good playing the piano. You are a great teacher and you made beginners feel they can actually advance in their desire to play better. Thank you again. You are truly a blessing.

    Great vid! I’m self taught, been playing for years, have played professionally, and I guess just intuitively started using these patterns. When I first started playing, I wrote something using Pattern # 1. But what was interesting about your approach on #1 was going to the inversion for the next chord, bc it requires changing the finger separation distance. Pretty cool, and makes it sound less elementary. The pattern on which you keep the bass on the first chord throughout with creates a bit of tension is used quite often by Elton (e.g., the intro to “Your Song”). The genealogy of the “Lohn Jennon” could be go back to the “Maul PcCartney,” since Maul used it on “Golden Slumbers,” and likely taught “Jennon” how to play.

    • @scottm4042
      @scottm4042 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It looks like you used inversions on the names! Was that first, or second inversion?

    • @carlbaumeister3439
      @carlbaumeister3439 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@scottm4042 First. Second would be Lehn Jonnen & Mcul PaCartney. Now don’t even get me started on minors, 7th’s, diminished, augmented, and especially 6 add 9’s! Eventually you run out of letters and have to start borrowing from George & Ringo . . .
