This is the first time I’ve come across you and while I’m getting along now as a 72-year-old loving every minute I spend on the piano I think you’re teaching was excellent here. I’ll be back to see what else you have to offer. I love the last pattern that’s something new that I will try, thanks again

That was so fun! I've been learning online from the most popular channels for two years and just found this channel. It has by far already taught me the best tricks from reading notes to these chord progressions.

I've been playing piano for 40 years but can only play by reading music. I've never mucked around with chords like this. This is great for jamming with friends. Thanks so much. I'm gonna go give it a try. Thanks for the free download as well.

If you’re not a a pro nor a music reader, and I am neither, it’s easy to get in ruts just learning songs on TH-cam tutorials and playing them over and over. This is a great tutorial to break out of the rut. Also helps you develop your ear in the absence of reading music. Thank you, Kaitlyn!

I like your style of teaching and enjoy your videos. I have been playing for 2 years; strictly reading sheet music. Frankly, progress was slow and boring. Recently, I learned to read lead sheets and study chord progressions. Suddenly, the piano is SO MUCH more interesting! At the end of the day, for most people, playing an instrument should about having fun.

I'm five years in and felt similar. I don't dislike sheet music but learning chord progressions and accompaniments feels more like being in a band. It's so fun. It was like school of rock where the keyboard kid only knew fur Elise but jack black showed him how to make a groove

65 y/o retired with a passion to learn piano to play easy listening beautiful songs for fun and enjoyment. Been 6 mos and remain stuck. No formal training or lessons as yet. Most my learning from beginner easy learn bks and TH-cam. So many systems on TH-cam. I start off okay bit then get stuck frustrated trying to break or learn the "code" as to what notes they are playing? I do like your "warm up" exercises and will practice that. I tried your sample song J. Lennon's beautiful "Imagine" then stuck again trying to figure what notes you are playing for the Cmaj7 chord as my chord bk does not match. Then I figure problem an inversion. I tried slowing the video but I seem to have no rhythm or wrong notes. I guess I just need to take it slow. Maybe, view your other videos may help. Thanks Kaitlyn. If u can break down for us 'ave maria' schubert the way u did with 'somebody i used to know ', I'll be over the moon.

Thanks for the cheat sheet. It is nice to find it as you said I would. I love Elton John. He is one of my favorite pianists and entertainers. But he was so popular when I was in my teens and his music is ingrained in my youth. I love how you have broken down his chords. I have spent hours trying to learn his somewhat easy anthems, especially focusing on "Your Song", in a book that has most of his popular songs.
I am really working hard on the syncopate count and really want to be able to get the beat in his music. It is so challenging. I gravitate towards the difficult. I have the lead sheet for two of his songs. But I really struggle to learn to play them. You are really inspiring me to learn my chords and I can see how this will help me play these songs with accuracy and a real beat. You motivate me.
And these days I need that more than anything. Thanks so much for all your hard work and these wonderful tutorials.
