Worst is when it rains and they have slide shut the side windows to avoid getting drenched.... the visibility from the narrow wind screen is quite minimal. Hats off the loco pilots. 🙏
Awesome video. Back in the day I operated similar equipment in marine applications. Multiple diesel engines driving standard A/C generators supplying power through SCR drive equipment. Locomotive generator ends used as DC drive motors for propulsion. Locomotive traction motors used as bow and stern thruster drive motors. Primarily EMD 16- 645 and 16- 710. Fun times as Merchant Marine C/E.
Is WDM3A a right hand drive loco? How does the LP manages to observe the LEFT SIDE signals through LONG Hood in front of him? What the Asst LP is doing at left hand side of Loco? In there a driving Panel in front of him too? Can we see the back side details of the loco ie. behind the LP? Does that side has a Left hand drive panel or a right hand side panel? Who is blowing the horn? LP or Asst LP? I shall be very much obliged if you can show me the 360 degree view of this loco. Thank you very much for a beautiful video.
Looks like loco has been manufactured in piece meal basis with antiquated instruments. Condition of the cab is pethetic .Very difficult for loco pilot to view ahead with LHF.
Bht hi responsibility wala work hai aur hard work bhi bht hai, thand kuch passengers sleeper class me hote window band kr lete n kuch AC coach me hote, lekin drivers to windows bhi ni band krte honge and hilly areas me aur north India me thand bht padti fog bhi hota kaise drive krte honge...its really very appreciative job..
Love these videos! Hello from the States! Love the long hood forward view, you don’t always see that. Long nail, short nails, I bite my nails, as long as he’s a nice guy.
Thanks for the great video but i´m also irritated about the purpose of the long finger nail, the driver surely will get not more attractive than without... ;-)
Interesting setup. Does the driver use a foot control to blow the horn/whistle, or is the conductor on the other side using another lever? I never see him pull a lever or push a button for the horn.
the throttle handle, SA-9 brake value and A9 brake valve all are fitted wrongly in vertical position. While in real alco locomotive these handles are placed on the left side of the driver seat. Also in this locomotive i can't see any Selector handle.
i think indian railways has to oparate engineless train because every country don't oparate locomotives train they have modern trains so , india also has to oparate engineless trains and incrase their speed on 300 to 350 kmph , at 100 kmph it's very much slow speed , indian railways has to oparate engineless trains in every route. in this train sometimes everyone have to suffer dangerous incidents . i think our railway board will start engineless train very soon , and cancel disel locomotives with electric locomotives ...
These ALCO indeginous engines are so easy to control and run compared to foreign tech. WDMs. Hope against hopelessness that the RAILWAY ministry will kindly adopt such simple and smooth tech. for future WMDs.
This is not real ALCO locomotive. They have changed everything in its cab that can make it ALCO. No alco locomotive has this kind of controllers in cab. This is totally changed!
This is not any improvement in technology. Only the location of cab is changed. A9 and SA9 valves, Selector handles are not changed since its creation. Throttle handle are also same
@Osama I cab's changed, went over from left hand drive to right hand drive. This particular loco, whose series number is visible in the video, is a rebuilt alco, and probably during the process this change was bought in. That said, the technology is quite different; this guy boasts of DBR, AC-DC transmission (rather than the DC-DC on original alco) and an upgraded engine+DC motors.
Beautiful Video. I would like to have a 360 degree view of the driving pannels of both sides of loco, one from regular front side and another when the driving is from long hood side. Secondly it seems that the LP is unable to have a view of the closer tracks as the level of instrument pannel seems above the eye level of the LP. I may be wrong. Thanks for video.
This video is amazing catching of good experience is given by this very Excellent cab ride on WDM 2 locomotive. This video also represented to given How is operated is a desel locomotive by job of Loco pioletes 😍 👏👏👏👏
Plz make the same video of an electric locomotive...would love to see how an electric engine is accelerated and how it is slowed down but plz concentrate more on operating panel rather than window view... This video is perfect as u concentrated more on control panel.... Thanks
OK...great cab ride in this old Alco...but, everything looks worn out...even the two-way radio antenna is busted...and, what's with the engineer's long fingernail? Does Modi have a long pinky-finger nail, too? I was trying to do research on this and there seems to be no definitive answer to the long nail thing...forget cocaine...the nail isn't THAT big...
bhai shubham Kumar main mohit jind haryana she hoon mujhe batayae train ke emergency air vakum brake mein kya difranse hai. kya bike ki tarah note disk air drum please reply me
Worst is when it rains and they have slide shut the side windows to avoid getting drenched.... the visibility from the narrow wind screen is quite minimal. Hats off the loco pilots. 🙏
Really difficult to view the track from such a distant cabin. Don't know how they manage
Ya it's very difficult to see the tracks.

This locomotive is equipped with microprocessor control and dynamic braking
Bombastic roaring, we dream sounds like this! Greetings from Italy!
The loco pilot could not see the broken track in this locomotive
@@joykevin312 They have long hood also their window is at sides
Dude is serious about his cocaine
Just aussome mind blowing breakings and aussome acclelaration and chugging sounds and horn loco pilot sir hads of to you and video shoot is to good
I don't know but i find something really amazing about WDM series locos maybe its the sound that i absolutely love especially when they are far away
Seriously though Who thought it was a good idea to put the cabin behind the engine? The pilots have to work extra hard in this type of loco
Loved the way you focused on the driver's actions rather than outside the window.
Can you make longer videos like this pls.
Essa Gamer27
Ooohhh...long hood forward??....oh man. That's backwards.
Salute for locopilots for there hardwork
So nice visibility for the loco pilot
Great video....good show of the controls on how to start and stop the train....please do this for different kinds of locos.

How driver is able to view the track Nd other objects???
You can’t be serious that the long fingernail is for coke 💀💀
Nice chugging by the ALco.Missing their smoking, speed a lot in SR :(
Which train did it haul?
Looks like loco has been manufactured in piece meal basis with antiquated instruments. Condition of the cab is pethetic .Very difficult for loco pilot to view ahead with LHF.
Thanks for the ride 😂
Alp is My Favarate Job ,👌👌👌👌👌
Dynamic braking at 100! That's awesome!

Long nail, short nails, I bite my nails, as long as he’s a nice guy.
So bad visibility for the drivers.
Affraid very bad to see
IS NOT CALLED DRIVER IS CALLED LOCO PILOT
my aim is to be a loco pilot. And this video helped me little to know. thanks
Just keep your eyes safe. Trust me.
Thanks for the great video but i´m also irritated about the purpose of the long finger nail, the driver surely will get not more attractive than without... ;-)
Yeah :D Horrible long fingernail!
Its for coke...
Ignyte It's for snacking from the nostrils.
Petz k.suri
Most train drivers pack sandwiches but these dudes have their meals "on board".....haha
Accoding to main line loco pilot should take 120 to 140 kph as per the loco caution list
That looong nail :-D Btw, which train is it?
👍
1:42 pilot nail to start engine 😀
Interesting setup. Does the driver use a foot control to blow the horn/whistle, or is the conductor on the other side using another lever? I never see him pull a lever or push a button for the horn.
Yes its the job of the assistant loco pilot to blow the horn. Although the loco pilot himself can also do it.
i love this video Thanks for sharing

We might enjoy this video.. only LP will be in pressure
the throttle handle, SA-9 brake value and A9 brake valve all are fitted wrongly in vertical position. While in real alco locomotive these handles are placed on the left side of the driver seat. Also in this locomotive i can't see any Selector handle.
Proved of Indian loco pilots

He nailed it 😆
These ALCO indeginous engines are so easy to control and run compared to foreign tech. WDMs. Hope against hopelessness that the RAILWAY ministry will kindly adopt such simple and smooth tech. for future WMDs.
Btw ...ALCO is old American clones ..
Ek mistake aur kitana bada accident ho sakta hai it's very responsible duty
His finger nail is the most disgusting i ve seen this week
very nice display and great sounds! but what's with the long finger nail the driver is sporting? ...:-)

Raj Malhotra
Very hard braking despite in rainy situation, there was high risk of SPAD
very old, still rough and tough..
I LIKE INDIAN RAILWAY JOB👍👍👌👌
Good luck to become a loco pilot
The noise is deafening. How do they manage prolonged exposures to such high decibel levels ?
Is it necessary to keep long finger nail for locomotive driver ?
It's their wish
Lembranças de quando tínhamos aqui em Recife as Alco RS8. Os maquinistas pegavam chutavam valendo! Corria nada. Se amostrava. Hoje só saudades!
Super

Who is blowing the horn when the train is cruising at 100?? The LP had his hands on the notches, so it must be the ALP, right?
