@@111jade that’s mostly because the try guys fans are a non toxic community and I think most of them (speaking from my own perspective) didn’t want to offend Ned’s fans… there were many videos where I wanted to point at Ned’s behavior but I always read all those happy comments from his fans who really admired him for being such a family guy.. didn’t want to make those ppl have negative emotions since they were clearly really pure and cute!

A disclaimer that I’m an amateur on this haha! From what I know about water signs are that they are more in touch with their emotions and their intuition. They tend to consider the emotional aspects of things and can be more empathetic as they feel the emotions of others more. They tend to be more sensitive and are generally very dreamy people eg: Pisces. They also tend to act based on their intuition and what they feel. As compared to the other elements (fire, earth and air) so having a lack of that is where the guys don’t have someone with the traits that display these traits eg: being dreamy, more on the emotional side, generally acting on intuition + how they feel.

I was frustrated by Ned’s comment “that people often use it as an excuse to not believe in science and math”…mainly because I’ve found the most anti-astrology people to be those that are devout to a particulate religion…and often ignore things like science and math. My friends who enjoy using astrology as a conversation tool all work in actual environmental sciences and hold research roles.

Even if you don’t like astrology look at the way these conversations can get people to ask questions, share deeper things about themselves and connect and relate to each other. Astrology is apart of a long human tradition of trying to understand the world around us and relate to others. Think of it as a tool and have fun.
That's how I look at it. I don't believe its true, BUT I love talking about it and bonding with people when discussing it. It's fun
My take is like Eugene's take. I don't believe it but I like those because it does help me think about others and myself. I love all conversations with it.
When zach recently said that the group can now expand creatively, i think its evident in this episode what he meant. Its obvious one person is very resistant to exploring anything he doesnt like. At least everyone else is respectful and want to learn.

I dabble in astrology for fun, and I think a lot of anti-astrology people miss something important. The astrology community is mostly dominated by women, queer people, and people of color.
I can only speak for myself as a queer woman, but I think a lot of us turn to the stars because the world is so chaotic and oftentimes *violent* towards those of us who exist in these marginalized communities. Astrology is a way for us to find order in the chaos. It's a comfort thing. Sometimes it feels like everything is going wrong, and it turns out that Mercury is in retrograde. Even if that means absolutely nothing, it's just a reminder that "this too shall pass."
Meanwhile, Ned (a cishet white man) has never had to deal with that same level of chaos & violence for simply existing.
Is astrology completely harmless? No, we can't rely on the stars for answers to everything. We gotta put in the work to make the world a better place for everyone. However, I can't fault people for finding personal comfort in things like astrology & spirituality.

I think it would help Ned to know that all the classical Greeks who made our math and philosophy were into astrology. Studying classical Hellenistic astrology is A LOT. And astrology isn’t a science so much as a language. Planets/signs/houses stand for symbols, like letters, and you are figuring out how to interpret them all together, like a sentence :)

To be fair though, the signs of your big 3 are just the tip of the iceberg. There’s quite a few things that could make a sign more visible in your chart. There’s houses (some are more visible than others), degrees, aspects (to other planets, angles, asteroids), the entire rest of the chart. In the case of Scorpio, Pluto and how prominent it is in the chart could contribute. There’s so many things we don’t know from the information given.
Omg when they were talking about ascending signs in general I looked at Eugene and immediately thought Aries, as someone who doesn’t get involved in astrology all that much I was impressed with my guess 🤣

I think it's important to remember though that a lot of crystals are unethically sourced and a lot of businesses take advantage of vulnerable customers in telling them that the stones fix all sorts of issues. Businesses will sell fake stones like Opalite (glass) or commercial "Citrine" (burned amethyst) as natural stones too. Buying crystals is still capitalist consumption and we need to be critical of that too. If stones make you happy, please consider finding them in nature or from other local ethical sources.

This entire episode is just so crazy in hindsight! Ned: absolutely manipulative, grade A jerk and walking red flag this whole episode being so condescending the whole time. I don’t really believe in astrology either but I’d never shit all over something my friend was interested in. Plus Eugene even said he doesn’t fully believe but uses it to examine himself as sort of therapy, which makes so much sense to me. Eugene’s foreshadowing about his very Capricorn response to Ned’s betrayal.
