Dude. That 30K 500 is practically immaculate. That the convertible top cranked down was amazing. You picked an absolute WINNER with this vehicle. Some cleanup, some detailing, tires, brake master cylinder, complete fluid change, and you're GOLDEN.

My older brother bought one of these from an estate sale way back in the 80s. They are quite the luxury land yacht. I got to drive it a few times. My impressions were nautical... You needed a harbor pilot's license to drive it and it drank gas like a sailor drinks rum. In the video, you can actually watch the fuel drop in the bottle lol. Pretty good buy at your price. It's intact enough to be a good candidate for restoration.

"Old oil never goes bad"! That was my grandfather's belief back in the 60's when he changed the oil in his Ford 8N. He never changed the oil in his car, truck, or tractor, only the filters. He'd add refined oil as needed. I don't think you can get that anymore, can you? Great video! My wife can never remember the name of my videos, she just says, Let's see what Gus is up to, or what is Duff Dog doing? She knows the videos by their dogs!

Chris thanks for a vid jam-PACKED with NNKH goodness!
This was a masterclass in compelling content:
    1. Primary content a SWEET old Caddy. (part 1 Bonus: Gorgeous drone footage)
    2. Substantive follow-up content on the 67 Stang.
    3. Jenn!!
    4. Autumn!!
    5. Closeout/Follow up on the Dumpster Delight 750 and our story arc protagonist's delightfully daft plan to use the bike to 'hook girls' who I am certain will not be able to resist the bike's (and our hero's) appeal.
    6. Gusman and Turbo!!!!
and 7. Seasonally-appropriate bonus community support footage of caroling! Wholesome and shows how you are involved with your community.
Does REAL content get any better than this?? NO!!!

These Cadillac's had one weakness, they really wore front-end parts. The parts were really expensive at the time. You really needed to go with Moog parts or you would be doing it over again. Ask me how I know! Lol. They really loved the freeway. This is one I would put back on the road and would enjoy it! Probably fix it a little at a time. I hope you find someone that will really show it some love. It deserves it .

$2500. Thats £1980 English pounds. I paid near that for a service and new tyres! Couldn't pick that caddie up over here for less than £10,000!

I dont belive he paid 2500 for tbh more like 4/500 . Im not spending 2500 to turn a 500 dollar profit

I look at that and I’m 8 years old looking amazed at one of these in a snowy parking lot during Christmas. It seemed the most amazing car in the world.

@@mary_mildred That would be quite something, see if Thunderbolt managed to get lightfoot back to life✨

Just wanted to say great videos in general, love the drive home ones. It's amazing how well preserved the vehicles are in the USA , here in the UK everything rusts so bad. Would like to wish you and your good lady Jen , your daughter, Gus and turbo, plus the squirrel a very merry Christmas and a very Happy New year . I really enjoy your videos , sensible and intelligent well done Sir

Started watching your video's a short time ago. I was always a wrench head and find your channel enjoyable and interesting. One of the things I like about your video's is that you include a lot of interesting places and scenery as well. Keep up the good work.

Great video, Chris. My boss had a 76 Eldorado convertible in great shape. When he would want to borrow my truck for the night, I would drive the Eldo. It was like driving a football field, especially with the top down. All of you have a wonderful Christmas with the new baby. John from Cape Cod

What a well cared for caddy, I am not surprised it started first time, the carb looks like new. Well done for saving it, I hope its purchased and stays in one piece, its a great motor, that deserves another life.
