Great Video! You must be over the moon about all the undead releases on the mantic Vault. I'd absolutely love to see some firefight content as well in the future.
The release of Zombie Trolls is incredible! The question is how many hordes are too many? Three? Four?? I look forward to getting some GCPS together and on the table, so why not make content for that, too? Glad to know at least one person is keen for it!
Writing up the Goonhammer interview allowed to find out how he used those regiments to great effect, so I am very keen to get onto them. I guess I was stuck in the thinking that "chaff must be as cheap as possible" so only considered troops, but those regiments are secretly nasty!
It's a very diverse and tempting army list. I just got a bunch of zombie trolls, and 80 zombies on the way, so might try next the zombie formation with trolls and the vicious aura!
@bringbattlewargaming8720 you and me both! Werewolves are so hard to use, but when they work it's incredibly satisfying. I think the trickiest thing is that the army doesn't really have a chaff unit that can run with them. A horde of Revenants will eventually join the army. So many things!
I was curious about the numbers on a magic item for the king on flying wyrm, so I coded up a brute force solution and ran it a hundred thousand times on each configuration, averaging it. vs. Def 5+ or lower: Baseline: 4.16 Blade of Slashing: 4.51 Mace of Crushing: 4.64 Sword of Sharpness: 5.54 vs. Def 6+: Baseline: 3.33 Blade of Slashing: 4.51 Mace of Crushing: 4.64 Sword of Sharpness: 5.55 So basically, Mace of Crushing gets you about half a wound in a face-to-face combat, and the Sword of Sharpness gets you triple that. So the Mace is more efficient (.1 wounds per point vs. .04 wounds per point), the Sword gets you well into 5 average wounds, while the Mace does not. I think more experienced players will do better with the Mace, as they will likely be better at getting flanks with the charge. 9 or 11 wounds will likely break a regiment either way (troops are dead without a magic item, and hordes are lasting a turn even with one), and paying for overkill isn't ideal. I think I'll continue to use the Sword, unless I really need to free up those points.
Definitely the Brew of Sharpness will push the damage output to the next level, but that points efficiency of the Mace of Crushing is just too good. In general I just try not to use 20+ points items, more room for more units (maybe)
@@CaffeinatedWarlord Oh, boys before toys for sure. The only must-have magic item in my undead army is the Inspiring Talisman for a necromancer. If I can scrape together the points at the end for a zombie regiment to camp out on objectives, I'll do that. If not, the Book or Lute for a USB and the Brew of Sharpness for the RKoUGFW are next on the list.
This is awesome, especially those multibases. You mentioned you went to a tournament in Springvale which is close by. Where is the best place to find out about local tourneys?
The Facebook group "Kings of War Victoria" is the best place for events around Melbourne. The event in Springvale is ConVic facebook.com/events/s/convic-2024/1061841425071148/ It's a great event, with players travelling interstate for it. Unfortunately we are stuck on Facebook
Thank you! It turned out rather well I think. As for armies to start with, the Ambush sets are really the best value, and you get nice hard plastic models that are at the industry standard. They don't really come with heroes or individuals, so aren't an army by themselves (although in many cases some conversion work or nice basing will make a hero look heroic even if it's just a single plastic model on a small base). The army and mega army bundles are nearly always amazing value as well, but I really think which is worth getting depends on the faction. The Undead army and mega army deals are great, but the Empire of Dust options are not. I could go on 😅
To paint all of this is an achievement in itself. And you’ve done it beautifully!
Thank you! I never completed armies when I used to play 40k, but something about the end goal of multibasing drives me to get it all done!
Excellent and really like the way it's a 2nd hand "resurrected" army, with a few Basileans/Abyssals included alohng with the gallows/rack etc :)
It's a real Mantic mix! And as I've said I am now inspired to continue it! Especially as project RFO is very nearly complete...

Count me in! Firefight is awesome
Really enjoyed this. Love the shoutout to my buddy Keith who won Clash Asia :). Yes regiments of wraiths are surprisingly good.

Lovely looking army. I have the same problem, there are so many different ways to field the undead, too many choices sometimes😂

@@CaffeinatedWarlord oooohh. I love my skeletons too much to run that. Always fancied a full on werewolf army. Would be soo fast

@@CaffeinatedWarlord I want to do an Underworld themed army. Werewolves and Soul Reavers on horse and foot. 🤪🤪
@bringbattlewargaming8720 3D printed Bill Nighy as Vampire Lord?

That acronym is insane 😂

@@CaffeinatedWarlord awesome thanks! I'll give that a join.
Would you recommend getting a regular KoW starter set or a ambush starter set to get into the hobby? Lovely army you got there ❤

This army is SICCCC
Thank you! I'm looking forward to expanding it, and doing some horde or legion level multibasing 😁
