Was so fun to watch editing was amazing to condense so many turns, and blast watching new players loved how much entertainment they brought both laughing despite some unfortunate dice rolls showcasing joy of hobby

I left a comment on the video and got a "you won a prize" reply. I know there have been a bunch of other channels who have had issues with this being fraudulent, figured I'd let you all know about it just in case it is not legitimate.
These players are absolutely amazing at making the game easy to understand. I haven't played any wargame at all but I've been an avid fan of your Battle Reports. But this game had me completely understanding every aspect of it very easily with zero familiarity of how it plays. Props to the team, the players, and the people at Mantic Games!
Kings of War is very clearly written ruleset, and it usually takes only a couple of turns before you know enough to play.
complexity comes from what you DO, not the rules.
So fun and tactical game! My favourite rank and flanks fantasy wargame in 22 years in the hobby.
Absolutely fantastic game, and kudos to the two players they were fun to watch play this game.
Some more Kings of War would actually be a lot of fun :D
Kings of war is such an underrepresented game. It would be great to see a bigger gaming channel make it more of a regular part of the show

This was cool; but I’d have loved a “how to play” where you explain what they’re doing and why it’s good/bad, as I’ve never heard of KoW. You guys did such a good job explaining the ins and outs with Conquest, feel like a bit more explanation in this first game of KoW would’ve really helped newbies like me enjoy it to the max!
We are starting with battle reports with an eye to new players. A full how to play is a big project to get right and we hope we can do one after we get this series done. Thanks for watching!

I'm really digging the Salamander army. I already have in queue stormcasts so I really don't want to do empire and I have legions of Nagash so no undead like armies.

Wonderfully helpful camera angles, I love the overhead cam showing the state of the battlefield, broken up by dynamic camera zooms and dice cams. Some of the sound effects were a bit loud, but I enjoyed their inclusion nonetheless.
The quick highlights by Tycho did a good job of pulling me back into the action whenever I started to get lost keeping track of too many things.

Just had to come back and watch this epic mini series. So much fun to watch and makes me wish you had done more Kings of War.
Kings of War always provided good alternative models for Warhammer fantasy
And it is a better game than oldhammer to me

Kings of War has SOLID rules. Been wanting to get my local group into it for a few years now but they are lame and only want to play 40k all the time.
I hear ya, I have two armies to get people to play it, but it's so hard to get people out of that GW/warhammer bubble. I've had several games with friends and whilst they enjoy it they always stop short of starting an army even though the minis are super cheap and mantic are cool with you 3D printing and proxying as much as you want.
@@captainweekend5276 Exactly. I always get "Let's just play Fantasy." Then I'll say OK and they don't want to play Fantasy cause the rules bloat. Pretty sure I'm just surrounded by weenies that only want to play 40k cause they are use to it.

Yay KoW! It (and KoW Vanguard) is a great system, glad to see it on the channel!
It's definitely quite different, but Ambush delivers on some of the same high-level goals of Vanguard - smaller forces, smaller table, more focus on whacky stuff and dense terrain. Plus it plays so quick!

Seems like a fun game, I like the flanking mechanic to make attacks more devastating. While I don't know overall how popular it is and it's in an awkward phase with the new edition. I continue to hold out hope that one day I'll see Warmachine here XP
Where are you based? Its popular in the US, UK and Aus and some places in Europe. It's not exactly a new edition - more of a tidy up and consolidation of everything into 1 book.
@@Gaddafied23 I live in Washington state USA. It's not exactly popular in my area whereas 40k is kind of dominate. Played a bit in mark 2 but fell off in mark 3 and didn't feel like picking it up since theme armies were like the only way to play. But I am excited for mark 4.

Kings of War was the first tabletop game ive ever played, havent played since but i have two armies that im very slowly painting through.
to anyone interested, I hope you like batch painting cause thats what kings of war painting requires and it's a SLOG. Really fun game though
they're also very cheap alternatives to Age of Sigmar, which is really what id be using mine for
Painting whole armies takes some dedication. We have come up with a few short cuts over the years but great models require loving attention. Hope you get yours up and running soon!
You might be interested in the new Ambush game mode. Delivers much of the KoW experience under 1000pts, so it's much less of a hobby commitment, and plays super quick to boot!

@@captainweekend5276 yeah it's definitely hordes. I have 80 orks to paint. I've done 40, and at 40 I was out off from painting for 6 months.
