    Captain. You sir are a genius for starting this series.

    @homelee665 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Well, I was mostly correct on my thoughts on these. I get the feeling that by the time you finish the series on electronics, I will be confident enough to tackle some flywheelers. I need to start practicing my solder skills.

    Cap, have to ask, does your day-to-day involve teaching or mentoring? I realize these Monday Mods are several years old, but I'm new to the hobby and find them very informative. Thanks again.

    • @CaptainXavier

      No, but I have always been good at and enjoyed teaching.

    A double thumbs up lad, for knowing the difference bitween electrical and electronic.

      Sturdy Nerfineer hit me.

    • @philipwithington69
      @philipwithington69 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well the difference is, electrical has physical switches, wiring resistors and motors. Where as electronic has A logic component too it. So most flywheels blasters are electrical (stryfe and varients). Where as say the regulator is a electrical/ electronic blaster. As it has motors and a logic PCB to control the select fire component.

    If possible, could you do a video on how to wire up a 3 switch rapidstrike I have read about them, but I can never actually find a good picture on where all of the wires are hooked up to

    • @joeofdoom
      @joeofdoom 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      MTB did a great video on a 3 switch rapidstrike and its very easy to follow.

    • @Flygonial
      @Flygonial 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +joeofdoom Quite sure that's 2 switch, Ryan prefers that. This post contains about all of them, though note that the NC and NO on the cycle control switches might be swapped around (displaying it with it pressed).

      So it is my bad. Heres torukmakto's guide on the different ways to wire up a rapidstrike torukmakto4.blogspot.co.uk/2015/06/tech-rapidstrike-control-circuits-part-1.html#more If thats too complex then I dont know what to say. A 3 switch setup is prob alittle unnecessary anyway its nice to have but you dont really need it.

    this video was very helpful as always, but I do have one question as to which posts are NO, NC, & COM on standard nerf switches such as on the Stampede

    • @CaptainXavier
      @CaptainXavier  16 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Typically, center is COM, the pin closest to the button is NC, and the one furthest from the button is NO. But always test it before just to make sure.

    Is there some sort of staged switch? The first stage would initiate the rev and the second stage would fire the blaster..I'm thinking full auto.

    Any idea when we might see a vid that covers electronic braking? I really want to put that in my Stryfe and I'm not 100% sure if I understand the written explanations I've found.

      I might just do it next week actually. It is really simple in a Stryfe.

    Can you use a microswitch if you're running IMRs?

    • @CaptainXavier
      @CaptainXavier  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Depends on your motors. Battery voltage is not what burns it switches, it is motor amperage draw that does.

    • @mrdufresne05

      @@CaptainXavier Can it work on stock motors?

    • @CaptainXavier
      @CaptainXavier  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@mrdufresne05 yes. Stock blasters can handle 2 IMRs indefinitely, 3 IMRs for while, and 4 IMRs for about 15 seconds.

  • @nathan9911
    @nathan9911 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    A cheap or free way to get switches is to scav around for microwaves, where I live we have a day every couple of months or so where people put some of their larger junk out and I've gotten multiple switches for free out of appliances.

    • @CaptainXavier
      @CaptainXavier  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      +nathan healey cool!

    • @nathan9911
      @nathan9911 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Captain Xavier, my dad was throwing out a microwave, so we pulled it apart for fun, so that's how I came to know this, you can get 2-3 switches per microwave. You can omron switches from some of the (relatively) new microwaves, old, old microwaves may have different brands. I put the omron ones I got in my rayven 😁

  • @Bobololo

    Idk if it's just me, but there's a very high pitch squeaking noise when you talk in this video. Might want to use a lowpass filter.

    hey cap, there's a minor typo in the title. i thought you were going over 7 different switches haha
    i had another question though: I'm trying to find a replacement motor for both a rapidstrike and a rayven in size 130. What are your recommendations? I plan to run both off of 3 IMRs.

    • @CaptainXavier
      @CaptainXavier  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have not studied, tested, or kept up with current flywheel motors options to make a good recommendation, sorry. I have previously used MTB Rhinos and Mishiel 2's. I like them.

    • @nerfinatorrr9981
      @nerfinatorrr9981 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Captain Xavier apparently MTB is coming out with sweet new "neo" rhino and hellcats and phasing out old hellcats as the new rhinos will be better. Also OutOfDarts will be a US distributor for one

  • @Strawberry92fs
    @Strawberry92fs 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    I know this probably seems dumb simple, but I'd really appreciate it if at some point you did one of these on replacing a buzz bee handle with a maverick handle. I assume it's just cutting and epoxy, sanding, and repainting, but as I have no experience with any of that. I'd like to see it done.

    • @CaptainXavier
      @CaptainXavier  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Actually, the buzzBee handles are so small a Maverick handle can fit around them with a little sanding.

    I just purchased four 1.22, 2500 mAh rechargeable batteries for a stock stryfe, did I make a fatal error in buying them? my question is will they overvolt it.

    • @CaptainXavier
      @CaptainXavier  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well...AA batteries are 1.5v...so if anything you might be under powered...

    • @Flygonial
      @Flygonial 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, you will need to buy motors that run faster on lower voltages with them. Honeybadgers would run at 28k RPM, though it will most likely sag lower with voltage sag - it should be noted that charged NiMH batteries are actually quite close to 1.5V, so it'll probably end up right about there until you start running out. That should get you supercritical velocities (100-130 FPS depending on darts, wheel balance, and foam-build up), though it would be highly recommended to rewire right about then as well.
      If you go with IMRs instead, then the money you shell out for all the cells along with the charger isn't that much more expensive than a Lipo charger.
