  • How to Wire Your K Swap Harness for KTuner: Demystifying the wiring for a successful engine.
    When you're doing a K series engine swap in your Civic or Integra, you have two common choices for engine management. Hondata or KTuner. regardless of which one you choose you'll need an adapter harness. Most of the adapter harnesses are built for use with the Hondata K-Pro. In this video we show you how to convert those adapter harnesses for use with the KTuner ECU.
    It's really not that hard. Brian shows you step by step how to make the changes and explains why. If you are interested in the tools Brian is using for the modifying the harness head on over the the VTEC Academy website and he'll have links to the tools used. You can find it at vtecacademy.com

    Great info. I’m putting a k24a2 into an ek hatch and ended up picking up a wrecked 06 rsx for the trans, harness and ecu. Opted to go with ktuner since I had all the 06 stuff, and this bit of wiring was the last piece of the puzzle. I went through all the pinouts of the ecu and c101 plug only to realize I could’ve gotten the same information here in much less time. 🤣 still helps to actually see a video of what to do

    • @VTECAcademy
      @VTECAcademy  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can add one. The connector and terminals are available from Corsa-technic. Another option is to directly wire your adapter harness to the ECU sub-harness. Either way, you will need to run a starter wire since it is lacking on the Accord engine harness.

    Great video. Very helpful. I have an issue after following the instructions on a 99 dc2, my tach does not work most of the times (when it does it bounces) in the forward gears and neutral, but works without issue in reverse gear. The Ktuner shows the rpm are stable even when the tach is not working... Any ideas what could be the issue?

    • @VTECAcademy
      @VTECAcademy  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sounds like a loose connection somewhere. The tach signal comes out of the E plug at #25 and should have continuity to the gauge cluster. I don't have a wiring guide here with me, but I believe the wire goes from the adapter harness to the left-hand shock tower and to the gauge. The most likely places that are problems are at the ECU and at the left-hand shock tower.

    • @andreg987
      @andreg987 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@VTECAcademy thanks for the quick response. I suspected as much, so I ran a wire (tapped into E25) to bypass the shock tower plug, same result. Bought a new E25 connector and replaced the old one. Same result. Returned and replaced the ecu (suspected a short on the board on e25 pin) same result. The only thing left now is to change the actual pin on the wire that goes into E25.
      Question, why would it work in reverse gear, if there is a problem with the pin or a loose connection at any of the connectors? Seems like there is a grounding issue that occurs in reverse gear that is not there in any of the other gears or reverse... I'm stumped....
