    Very helpful indeed! When the wreckers put out a type s I'll be out there ripping it out for sure! However I just recently aquired an 05 base manual trans, shifter box, cables and ecu from the junkyard and want to help do a manual swap to my buddies' auto 05 base rsx. Guess I'll be looking at your article and buggin you if I have issues with wiring when we tackle that. :)
    Thanks for the awesome videos!!

    Brian I have a 2004 Acura TL base model with a manual harness, a 2003 Acura CL Type-S six speed, a 2007 TL Type-S manual ECU with Hondata FlashPro and the adaptor harness, a stock replacement Exedy clutch and flywheel (absolutely unparalleled quality and longevity, I've used it at over 500 whp with my boosted J32A in my Accord for 20,000 miles and its still going strong), and it has a GTS3582 turbo at around 5-6 psi and it keeps eating reverse in the manual transmissions that I have. V6 six speed manuals are expensive. My 03 CL trans was $1500 and my 05 Accord (with an 03 CL LSD diff) was $700 plus another $300 for the CL diff. I've already rebuilt the CL trans with a new reverse synchro and cuff, but I went from 5th to reverse once on the highway and it ground for a split second and now I have no reverse. I spent over $200 for the actual OEM Honda parts. I found out that I didn't have the little spring and plunger that goes into where the reverse lockout solenoid installs, so obviously it's not going to work without that. Anyway, after purchasing another complete reverse gear stalk I'm going to attempt it again. Wish me luck! I'm tired to having to replace these transmissions due to no reverse!

    • @VTECAcademy
      @VTECAcademy  ปีที่แล้ว

      Try this. Before you put the car in reverse, put it in second first and then reverse. That should stop the transmission from spinning and eating the reverse synchro.

    • @VTECAcademy
      @VTECAcademy  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ask them, but I don't believe so. With a Hondata you can use one of the alternative outputs you might use for Nitrous control to turn that reverse lock out on and off.

    • @brandonbruce2772
      @brandonbruce2772 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      With a PND ECU with KPro V4, using a PRB calibration, you would pin the reverse lockout to B22 and it will automatically work, just like a PRB ECU.
      "Changed PRB calibration to activate reverse lock out via pin B22 (secondary intake runner). This allows PND ECUs to be used rather than the PRB ECU."
