For those of you that doesn’t know about the 5.56 green tips they’re not AP rounds meaning “Armor piercing” rounds it’s has a steel core to penetrate better than FMJ. Also for the armor plates upgrade to a build up coating because the fragments will kill ya.
It's a form of armor penetrating ammo to a certain degree. Because it was designed to penetrate steel helmets and light body armor. Is it fully armor penetrating? no, but it does penetrate on some as I have tested. Thanks for the comment👍
they offer plates that have a kevlar wrap on them to reduce spall splashing out. i saw a video on reddit where a guy tested the kevlar-covered one with balloons and cardboard around it; the covers ate it up really well. it wasn't until the end of the video when the cover was all sorts of chewed up and a few of the balloons popped.
@@DropItLikeItsScott good to know. i bought a pair also (with the trauma pads) from predator. tons of keyboard 'special ops' guys crap on steel plates and lack of spall coating/negation and i'm unsure why.
@@stewartjas68 yeah, I don't understand why people gotta be so rude at times🤷♂️ I'm ordering more with the kevlar coating as well👊plus, I'd rather have steel than nothing at all...
I did mention that this was a penetration test. I knew that there would be spalling. I also mentioned that they make body armor that is wrapped in kevlar, which will eliminate the fragmentation. That test can be seen on my channel as well. I do appreciate your comment and watching.👍
I just bought those plates. Brother thank you for the actual test. Needed that
Of course. I have some in my truck kit.
Love body armor testing! That plate handled it like a champ!
Just gotta be concerned with spalling, but there will be no bullet holes going in. 😃
Yes, I highly recommend the Kevlar coating for these plates. Predator Body Armor is among the best in the market.
Only time penetration is a bad thing is when you're wearing body armor. Ouch!
Yeah, not a fan of penetration in armor...🤣
Great video brother. I was wondering about the 7.62. Glad you thru that in at the end 👊
Thanks brother! Did you get your AR yet? :) Love the 7.62
I think I've settled on the 3+ with kevlar coating.
Nice! Kevlar coating is a great choice👊
Top job and thank you fore sharing 👍
Thanks bro! You are always have the most encouraging comments!
Great testing video.

Qual a espessura desse aço?
Ellos son un cuarto de pulgada de espesor.
@@DropItLikeItsScott obrigado
Does flat or curved really matter
It's all preference on your comfort. I choose curved as it feels more set against my chest.
Is this lvl 3 or 3+
3+ AR650 steel
@@DropItLikeItsScott awesome thanks for the reply great video.
You shouldn’t angle the armor so much when shooting it. You want a good straight on point of impact
Looks like it holds up well.. but that Spalding though...

No fragmentation test? Seems you are half testing this

Good on you for MISSING the very FIRST shot, but keeping it in video, nonetheless.
Missed the steel, but hit right above it lol. Still gotta show my imperfections. 😀
I myself scared of rattlesnakes it’s going to take a lot of bullets to break that brick
throw some waxed old jeans around it to stop the fragmentation
FIRST!!!
Nice!!
