Understanding the NIJ Standards - Predator Armor

The NIJ Standards are used industry wide to establish stopping capabilities of body armor. It is important to understand the Standards so that you know the stopping capabilities of body armor. As an educated consumer you can buy the body armor that fits your needs.
We discuss the NIJ Standards and provide some clarity on the different NIJ Levels (Level IIA, Level II, Level IIIA, Level III, and Level IV). Level III+ is also discussed as it is a common Level of protection provided by companies in the market.

Sorry if it's a newbie question, but has anyone ever done a plate that's ceramic and then a layer of steel?
The weight might be a factor, but maybe cuz of what it's made of it can be decently thin?

Are your plates NIJ certified, or are they just tested by you to meet those standards?

Our plates are tested to meet the NIJ Standards by an independent NIJ approved testing facility. We have not completed the certification process with any plates as of yet. We plan to get some certified plates to market soon.
