Mistake #6: blurring your face out when operating in your plate carrier. Makes it extremely hard to see and operate properly.
lol😂
It's not blurred. Those guys have a type of genetic birth defects that makes them look like that.
Common misconception.
You should see the family reunion pics.
More non-black hoodies and shirts please. Lets get some slate greys and mustards up in this b.
Yea slate gray would be a nice change
Add some maroon in there, too. Y’all’s apparel is nice stuff. But it’s all black.
@neuromancerwintermute3681 That SpirDef hoodie is on some other level of quality.
But how will they dog whistle to the proud boys if they dont do black and yellow? Lmfao
@@yellowsaurus4895 Idk about all that. I just wear black jeans a lot, and Spiritus got me looking like a goth nerd walking around town. Maybe if we ask them why they keep making shirts for ANTIFA, they'll add some color 😂
Whoever filmed this did a really good job, kuddos to the quality work y'all do!
This is perfect really hoping for some more regular videos like this. Also, the website update! Have been wondering when it would come and it looks amazing.
Great info. Super helpful. I wish I had this available when I was looking for my first plate a few years ago.
the first video that actually help me set up my plate carrier, thank you!
Great breakdown. Perfect amount of information and focus.
Booba Gooba
Thanks!
Great breakdown. Perfect amount of information and focus.. I really dig that gear storage design!.
Great points all around! Can't agree more when it comes to cable management, it's critical and guys forget about it all the time.
Good video. Getting my PC just like I wanted it was not easy. I am a fan of the "travel light so I can travel fast" school, but as I have grown older, this has turned into, "well, at least as fast as I can". Weight and bulk add up fast.
haha lol
I’ve always been of the same mindset as I was always pretty good on my feet being quick and fast, able to stop and change directions on a dime etc etc. just turned 40 a couple months ago and I’ve realized I’m not as fast and quick as I once was😂 now I still try and go for lightweight but mainly what I try for now is as many mags as I can have without having my kit bulky up front. Only one layer of mags and no kangaroo pouches or anything bulky up front for being prone but I like the idea of having as many rounds as I possibly can without it becoming something ridiculous
The explanation of the exspander wings was a lightbulb moment for me personnaly so huge thanks for the vid cause i was afraid i was stuck gettin a a third molle cummerbund in the size 2 just to fix my small issues of almost to tight etc. Keep up amazing work and thanks to everyone at spiritus systems!
Same here, wondered exactly what they were intended for.
My #1 mistake with setting up my plate carrier was setting it up how I set up my flak jacket in Iraq in 2004 and 2005.
A lot has changed in the ergonomics, structure, and utility, of kit and I had to adapt to it. First thing to go was the pistol holster on my chest lol.
Flak jacket?? You had flak jackets in Iraq in 2005??. 😂😂😂I was in Iraq in 04 and 05 and we had IBA's
I was issued the Interceptors then the Eagle Industries SPC back in the day, just recently got a KZero from Agilite. More modern than what we had.
He was with a “special” unit. Small yellow buses for transport. Jellybeans for mres.
Super soakers.
Maybe steel pots for helmets.
@@arighteousname5882 Yes. The Interceptor vests and MICH helmets we referred to as our "flak and Kevlar," respectively.
If you were in then you'd know that.
@@HWG-wm8ld I was in a special unit, actually. It was called Small Craft Company. Only one in the Marine Corps. Of course, you're too smug of a keyboard warrior, safe in your mother's basement, to know what that was or its significance to operations in Iraq.
Outstanding video and Explanation.....
Good Job.
Thank You
Very good tips...ill check my plate and see if i made any of these mistakes...thank you
The wing adaptor is an awesome idea.👌
Cheers for the updates.
I thought there was some pretty good tips in this video. Especially when they showed how difficult too much stuff makes going prone, getting back up again and the interaction of gear in vehicles a real chore. Regarding snagging hazards: It's also important to remember how your rifle's sling fits into the dynamic of all of that kit. Being able to sling or unsling one's weapon reasonably quickly is an important thing to learn and practice. That was also an excellent point about keeping the drawing area above one's secondary holster clean. Good stuff! 🫡
(5:00) I use elastic style for that very same reason. It works really well when I’m running, or jumping, or whatever obstacles I may face in any type of environment.
Excellent video!
Very informative video. Well done.
Bro. Those Hilux are looking so good. Probably the nicest I've ever seen actually.
Hiluxes always look good
This video should be mandatory concurrent training for soldiers 😂
Great video as always
love the intro
It's very interesting to watch this video from Ukraine. We have fundamentally changed our views on military equipment. This particularly applies to body armor and plate carriers. I think you might have missed mentioning the importance of a significant amount of Kevlar in this review, which can save you from the shrapnel of Russian projectiles
bruh, why would you carry a plate carrier if you don't wear kevlar insert ? that's the basic purpose of a plate carrier
@@ViquelOoste I meant: as more as possible Kevlar: neck, shoulders, groin, waist
@@ViquelOoste th-cam.com/video/rhs-NxkZOQg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=AxLaE-kzuppKu4ib
homie. if you want more shrapnel protection, wear a helmet and put side plates or soft armor segments on the side.
@@fatcat9109but in trench warfare it would probably excel.
Don't forget to tether your compasses and stuff to your carrier so you don't yard sale it while moving.
I also use mechanic's wire to tether my light, and ATPIAL, to my boom stick. Get selfish, no freebees for others.
Either tie down your stuff or use locktite or some other form of screw glue, never lost anything since
Greed is good?
I really dig that gear storage design!
It works great
Mistake #1 putting on a micro rig. Be a man, lbe or macro rig
Mistake #2 non detatchable backpack/backpanel. The purpose of a pack is to carry stuff and be able to access it.
Mistake #3 wearing it in the wrong spot
Mistake #4 thinking your muscles/fat levels determines your plate size. Hearts and lungs dont grow/shrink with muscle mass/fat. Do the correct measurements of your heart and lungs
Mistake #5 wearing a black/multicam black/splatter/ig hype pattern. Camo is dependent on your environment, and black is unnaturally dark
Black when dirty tho 😏
@@The_Tactical_Wook a better color looks better
@@TheGunNerdo rly? Next you'll tell me that a worse color is worse.
In cqb will never important the black or other color. Black mean: you are the apex predator. Highly trained enforcment seal, the black or multicam black. ;)
@@pallaszlo7976exactly. Camo only really matters in the desert and mountains
Great info.
thank you for your help
The tube-style cummerbund is definitely worth it. Those FirstSpear tubes are no joke. Last forever.
I think the top reference of the plate carrier height isn’t the sternum, but the clavicular notch… the sternum is the center of your chest where the breast bone connects the ribs.. just to minimize confusion.
and tell me, what is the name of the bone which have the top of itself, between the two collar bones ? yeah sternum
The sternum is at the bottom of the rib cage
Sternum runs from the top of the rib cage to the bottom of the rib cage ..
Gear Efficiency: a sign of the thoughtful Hoplite.
I couldn't believe when we went to pre deployment training, people wore their carriers low over their stomach. I knew proper wear so I had mine higher where it should be protecting lungs and heart. 4 of them seriously laughed and said look at him his whole lower half is exposed! The stupidity I swear
The foolish have the loudest mouths brother, keep your wits with you
I sewed tubes onto my elastic cumberbund. I feel like Oppenheimer, theory will only take you so far...
For cummerbunds, there are also some that are a hybrid between molle and stretch
Excellent vid! Keeps the new jacks from learning these tips the hard way!
Any chance you guys have build instructions for those wooden gear lockers? Ideal design
That’s standard Afghanistan ODA stuff right there.
Thank you!
Honey wake up new spiritussystem video just dropped
That's a nice caatail antenna ya got there.
I get issued a Crye Plate Carrier. I've found it hard to get truly comfortable with it due to the cummerbunds lack of flexibility, so I now use Ferro Concepts ADAPT Cumberland's with a Warrior P/C, which is far lighter and allows me to actually breathe whilst having the P/C snug enough to stay in one place. This is especially important when also wearing soft armour underneath.
As far as wearing side plates, it's easy enough to add them with the Crye side plate bags whilst still being able to use the Ferro elastic punches for mags or whatever.
It's a Mish Mash but it's effective, light and works well for me.

I can’t wait to have all my friends look at me funny while I explain this to them in person without the context of demonstration
Great info, you have RSF vs RBF .. resting sad face.. lol great delivery though appreciate the info
Great Video, great explanations, i hope one day someone on youtube will use a not so generic size person as their model, as 5'10 dude at 275 its hard to find someone talking about this style of wear and sizing. ,
Lose weight shorty. 6'1 240
Great vid.
May I ask what mic you use? Your vids have excellent sound quality for voice. Asking for a friend (TH-camr)
We need a taps upgrade kit restock!
Just get their H harness and back strap, it’s what I did then you can buy HSGI bungees for cheap. Been using it as an infantryman and it’s been 10/10
I concur with true harmacist. There's nothing in the taps upgrade kit that can't be had somewhere else, if the kit is out of stock. Get the H harness, back strap, and HSGI bungees separately. Buy a different dangler. Viola. I used the upgrade kit, but if it was out of stock I would have just gone somewhere else.
What type of radio was that? Great tips thank u.
I got myself one of those coyote plate carriers it works great. I also have a ferro slickster
Molle/elastic hybrid cumberband pleaaaassseeee!
Curious as to why there aren't more co.panies trying to make elastic cummerbunds with tube adapter
Love it how y’all talk about fighting loads and then show a pc with 3 mags. Fuckin lol
I guess you missed where the cummerbund has additional slots/pouches for more mags.....
@@Dero_milsurp i guess you missed where the cummerbund is where most people put shit like their radios and GP pouches. I actually run my kit with a combat load at all times. 8 full mags, comms, IFAK and general first aid for me and those in my squad, lvl IV ceramics, and water. i get it, it hurts your poor little shoulders to actually have weight on your kit. One day youll learn that it is indeed amount of ammo downrange that wins firefights and not being a "high speed, low drag" douche bag
Feel like you missed a 5 option on the cummerbunds, which is elastic with a molly band over it. For a bit of extra weight can the best of both. Don't know if an equivalent MTV exists on the civilian market but I did like using them. Were kind of pain to don once you loaded it up.
7:03 Ive been "under-loading" mine 😆
Trying to carry 200+ with no placard.
the vest on the second rack looks pretty nice, what mag carrier does it use?
In your cable management section you had a flexible antenna. What is the information on this antenna so I may check into it?
I'm gonna need some more info on those gear lockers :)
what's there dimensions ?
this video quality is awesome, how did you record this?
What are those cut-outs on the right side of each top shelf for?
MY BOY NATE
i think the first mistake people make when buying one of these, is they dont realize how heavy they are to begin with, with just the plates inside and when an when not to use a PC, cause there's only 3 scenarios i can think of when i would need my PC
What about for military IOTVs
Make size chart like agilite and problem is solved buddy 😎🤙
Should I move my taser off my carrier or move it back to my belt?
Yes because this is something that you need to know in life!
Thanks for this video. I was wearing my PC upside down this WHOLE TIME!
where we should attach side plates? as much as possible to the front to maximize front protection area or on a middle of cummerbund to protect our sides of body, leaving a empty area bettwen front plate and side plate?
That video is coming :)
That video is up on their channel now
Will your mk4 and 5 placards fit crye jpc 2.0
#2 is the one I see most people get wrong. Most lay people have their plates way too low. They need to be up high enough to protect the ascending aortic arch.
Do you guys have blueprints for the gear lockers in the background?
🇺🇸
Does anyone know of a company that can taylor make frag mitigation sleeves? I bought swimmers plates from Spartan Armor and they don't currently make the sleeves for them.
We want a spud placard!
Can we get the coyote brown jsta pouch back in stock plz
I use a standard 10x12
want that antenna
the only challange is cable management on a MCR, PC is pretty easy hiding cables
Get some.
I heard the rear plate is allowed to ride slightly higher to be as close to your occipital bone.
What type of camo is that green multicam?
About mistake #3
Im suprised that you didnt mention another solution, that is to have cummerband with molle and this quick release system but on the back of cummeband, use elastic material
For example look at ROC gen 4 plate carrier from "templars gear"
I noticed my plates sit very loose in my lv. I have 10/12 plates in a size lg. is this why ?
Wish I would have watched this before I ended up with too small of a plate carrier
1:17 "heighth" is not a word.
When he was measuring himself, I (who didn't know how to correctly measure someone for a plate) went "He's gonna do nipple to nipple, isn't he?". XD and damn if he didn't lol
I set my avs up just like a CCT I saw and it's perfect for me tbh
that's nice
Are the plans for those gear lockers posted anywhere? I have seen some but not with the clothes hanging rack behind it.
They are not. We recommend you just measure the space you have to work with, and start there.
Look up " hockey locker room stalls".. that's exactly like those
#interesting
....at the cummerbund sizing part....you talk about your cummerbunds , yes? because there are more variants out-there
you talk about right sizing etc. but at the same time you don't offer size S plate bags
At 8:41 it looks like the plates almost 2 inches below his collarbone. Isnt that too low?
What type of antenna is that?
I’m 11 inch nip to nip 17 sternum to belly button so should I do 11x14 plates
Are you planning on restocking the motto hoodies?
maybe some day
I still use my Eagle Industries MARCIRAS. It's old, but it works.
Whatever carrier and plate used if its not worn at the correct height you are behind the curve
I didnt kno u could mess up the plat size that bad 10x12 seems standard, ride height #2 is adjustable
When will the larger Fanny Sack be released?
where did you get a hilux
Does your LV-119 integrate with the Ferro assault cummerbund?
No
You could make that work but you'd need an adapter.
what jeans ya got on?
