One option is to get the Media mod. But I'd strongly recommend getting the Ulanzi metal cage + the old GoPro mic adapter + Rode Videomicro. It will cost but is well worth it.
Now I own the Camera and it's really cool, but I found a big disadvantage: My preferred resolution is 1440p/60 with Image stabilisation. This is the highest resolution you can use EIS with 60fps. Quality is very good, but the aspect ratio with this resolution is 4:3 and you can't change it to 16:9 or 16:10. Do you think a Firmware update could fix this in future?

On a budget - maybe getting Osmo Action generation 1, even second-hand, makes great sense and will offer awesome quality. From Akaso models - this one is not too bad. I still like a lot the Akaso V50x, but am not sure if they still use the same components in the recent batches.
I bought this exact camera for recording motorcycle rides.. when I turn it on, it only makes recordings about 11 to 13 minutes long. After investigating on the Internet, it turns out that these cameras only record 5G of information and stop/begin another video. so if I try to record some thing 30 minutes long- I end up with three videos that are each approximately 10 to 13 minutes long. But I discovered, if I press the start button the shutter button on top of the camera about every 10 minutes, it will continue to roll and make one long video

They claim a 170° FOV, which is wider than the HERO8 Black's 155°, and yet the stabilized footage clearly had a tighter crop. They're compensating for a poor stabilization algorithm by cropping more aggressively. This gives them more margin to play with (the Osmo Action does this to some extent too), but there's a price to pay in losing field of view and resolution.
I think I can sense where your request is coming from, but honestly - these webcams are not my expertise and I prefer to cover products where I am knowledgeable. But who knows - maybe I can find a friend that can help. 😇

Yeah - they made this playground in a small town couple of years ago. Two years later - maybe half of the top kid-skaters are from that town. Small thing can make such a big difference.

Hello nice review, I got mine today. Have question how do you make each MOV file longer? I would like each file to be about 45min to 1 hour? It seems even at 1080p 30fps only 9min and 3gb file. what gives I have not seen this with my EK7000 at 1080p and 30fps no problem getting 45mins before the next file starts and I will end up filling the SD card or run out of battery. 1080p 60fps is about 35min then next file. thanks much!

I agree. I used to use Yi Action Cameras. Each and every one had issues. Nothing really compares to the more expensive cameras (I'm including DJI and Insta360 here).

I think this is the limit of the given hardware setup.
The sensor in the GoPro HERO8 Black is 79% bigger. Sensor area is what matters, not linear size.
Yup - very correct. Larger sensor = more light = better low light footage.

the V50x seems to be alot sharper with better clarity which do you prefer v50x or brave 6 plus?
The V50X looked sharper indeed, but note that while working on the Brave6 video there were less bright days... Light is essential for good video.
Fair enough I have noticed the brave 6 saturating colours a lot more than most of the akaso models

Should be 4GB - this is the limit of the Fat32 file system. Try formatting your cards in exFAT.

Sandisk have great models - go for the U3 specifications.

Yeah, I was also surprised to see the GoPro being wider! And there is the option Superview, which can give even more FOV.

If we talk about 1080p, the Hero 5 is much better than this one.

Hey Nick, that's a very good question. Try finding DJI Osmo action 1 - used ones can be quite affordable. Same goes for GoPro Hero 6 & 7.

Likely it will ask you at the time you connect the camera to the laptop about the mode to use. Or find a MicroSD to USB port adapter.

The Fat32 file system allows files only up to 4GB to be stored. Try formatting the card in exFAT and see if it will work.

Hard to say which is the best in its class - there will be a lot of opinions. I still prefer the V50X from the budget cameras.
