Just ordered it for $1008.98 total (with your coupon). Thanks. It just came down $20 for some reason. It was $118.99 before your code and your code brought it down -$17.85. Thanks again!

The DJI was surprisingly over exposed when you did the bright sunlight test, the Akaso handled the bright sunlight much better with a lot less whiteout, who'd have thought it.

My son received his Akaso Brave 7 LE from his mom and me this Christmas. Early signs are that it is a very good camera indeed for its budget price. Having read and listened to a number of reviews, we decided to buy him the Akaso, the price being the major factor. Well aware the Gopro and Osmo are by far better cameras but the prices reflect that.
Akaso Brave 7LE is not to be ignored!

I am so glad that I found this excellent, informative and detailed review even if it’s a few years old! I just purchased the entry level AKASO EK 7000 which I like a lot. The Brave 7 LE will be my next purchase. I find myself really excited about the AKASO brand of action cameras, and really don’t find it necessary to spend hundreds of dollars more for a camera that practically has the same performance and less accessories. I don’t know if you’re still posting video content like this, but I have subscribed anyway. Thank you again.

Picked one up as well, going to post some test footage from mountian biking soon. It's taken some tinkering and the stabilization definitely doesn't stand up to the dji or gopro. It works and for the price it's extremely well built. For vlogging and just walking and stuff it would be a great camera, but upgrading to a hero 8 in the near future due to the stabilization. Great review!

Just picked one up dirt cheap to add to the collection of Gopro's and Osmo's. Honestly, the tighter field of view will fit in quite nicely.

Awesome video. I have made several videos on the Akaso V50 Pro and love what Akaso is doing for the money. I'll have to check this one out now. I have to agree too, that the camera view is more narrow than a GoPro, even in it's wide view. But for the price, it's definitely worth it. Thank you again for an awesome video.

Seems like an overall good value and I came close to buying one, but after watching a bazillion YT reviews on generic action cams I've come to the conclusion that really good sharpness, dynamic range, flat grading profile, and very smooth stabilization (beyond just walking) only comes from the big names. For $199 the DJI Osmo Action with spare battery on Amazon now has fewer compromises. It's older, but overall still comparable to the GoPro Hero8. I felt that was worth the extra $. If I get around to configuring my jumper mulitiprotocol TX I might slap it on my old 5" quad...

I bought two to do documentaries (when gas is cheaper) and for stop motion animation. Talk about multi-use. I didn't know it had time-lapse as I just got them from Amazon for Father's Day yesterday. Thanks for showing the review. I also bought Movo wireless lavaliers to make up for the poor sound capture. I get two mic transmitters to one receiver which is perfect for traveling, interviewing, and filmmaking. For anyone serious about filmmaking, you should have separated sound from the camera - the poor sound quality wasn't a big deal for just this reason. My Nikon DSLR can't do most of the stuff this does and I was able to buy two, and the lavs for about 20% of the DSLR. Now that's budget filmmaking. Add good lighting and it's a done deal. Thanks for this simple video. You sold me.

I've a quick question. I was going to get one but on another review someone said when they put the micro sd card into their Apple Computer that it was reading the card in slow motion? I've a MacBook Air laptop. Granted it could've been a defective sd card to an older OS for the user's computer. In your opinion have you heard of any computer read problems? If not i'm going to get it.

I realize the 7LE is yesterday's paper, but can anyone that still has one confirm that the older firmware didn't allow high speed playback speed on recorded clips? The one I got recently only does 1x, and I wonder if this is something that only happened with later firmware versions or if no one ever noticed it because they don't usually play back clips on the camera.

I have the GoPro Hero 8 and am happy with the stabilization and quality of picture, but this one might be worth the effort to give it a try. I need a camera to use on my boat when offshore fishing. It would be clamped onto the tower and can quickly grab and get up close action, but would like the option to have it plugged up to either a power bank or external USB power to keep it going all day. I can't do this with the GoPro as it will overheat and shut down.
On my older GoPro Hero3 Black, I was able to connect to power and also an HDMI feed to my boat electronic display and view on the large screen. Again, I can't do this on any of the later GoPro Camera models, so looking for a different camera that can do this. Any idea on this one?

Excellent video editing, composition and a pleasant performance. I assume by now that you have figured out that the narrower field of view on the Brave 7 is caused when you have image stabilization turned on. That's because the Akaso uses software to analyze each frame and adjust the composition to minimize camera shake and this operation reduces the field of view slightly to accomplish the same. I put up some motorcycle videos and came to the same conclusions, great camera for the price, perfectly acceptable performance for a camera at this price point, pretty disappointing audio.
I would love to know how or if you were able to use the external mic with the Brave 7 or did I misunderstand that demonstration ?

The problem I am presented with is I need to encase the camera in the unit's case atop my helmet with the microphone running from the camera atop my helmet down to the helmet's nosepiece. How does a user attach the microphone's micro USB cable into the camera? If the micro USB door swinga open? Or is the micro USB door removable...or would I need to use a Dremel to permanently remove it?

It is designed for someone on a budget who can't afford a GOPRO. On a gimbal it should be even smoother than shown in this video.

Very impressive for the price. If I still ran action cams on my quads i'd give it a shot , but I just switched to the dji fpv system

You have a far better impression of this camera than I do. From the beginning I didn't like the short depth and pixelated performance of the Wifi. Looks like the video from an old drone I own. I recommend you buy a older model Hero 4,5 or 6 online for about the same price and get quality footage rather than limp whistles and bells.

As noted in the video, the camera is not the same experience as a GoPro or OSMO Action, but for the price you get more than the price, because there is nothing else on the market at this price that gives you this much.

Thanks for reviewing this reasonably priced action camera Steve ! The RC hobby is expensive enough, so thrifty alternatives are welcome 😉

Review the Cooau spc-02..Native 4K 60fps ambarella Sony chip..image quality is amazing didn’t like 4K 60 as much as 4K 30, amazingly stable

Awesome camera for the price. I bought an Akaso V50 pro SE about a year ago and am very happy. Maybe now buyers will see how GoPro are ripping everyone off with their crazy prices. And what you get with a GoPro. Nice one Steve.

How much does it weigh? Can it be decased like a go pro to make a naked brave 7?

These cameras are designed exactly for people who do not have a very big budget to buy something good like a GoPro.

    Good review - thanks.
Can it be worn on the wrist without the waterproof case?
I don't need wifi etc so will be turning most of the jazzy stuff off. I just need a good quality cam with decent battery life. My GoPro lasts about 90 mins - how long would this last on one battery at 1080 with no wifi, no screens etc?
    Thanks

It would be interesting to know if the accelerometer data could be used with the plugin REELSteadyGo that gopro uses?
