@@gregtoope Whoa. Was literally seconds away from getting the Brave 6 (USD $90) when I noticed it was NOT the Brave 6 *Plus* (USD $145) Just a heads up so others don't confuse the two. 🇭🇲👍
I got the akaso EK7000 in january 2017. I broke the screen over a year ago an can only see about 80% of the screen but its still going strong today, ( WARNING READ THIS ) only bad thing is when i got a replacement waterproof case it wasn't fully waterproof, NEVER put the camera in the waterproof case till you know the case is fully waterproof, put some toilet paper in the case an then sink it in water for half hour. dont let it float on top of the water, if the paper is dry your ready to go :) hope this helps
I have the Brave 7 and think it’s awesome. I have no negatives for it at all and the inbuilt mic is terrific quality too. If you are looking for a budget action camera, I can’t recommend it highly enough. What is more, the waterproof case provided enables you to film at 40 meters below sea level that’s around 131ft…
@@LeaTex to be honest, very few action cameras mics are good underwater (if that’s what you’re asking?) but it’s waterproof straight out of the box down to about a metre but with the supplied case it goes down to an insane 40 metres. Lea, it really is epic value and often my ‘go to’ choice. Btw, I also own a GoPro Hero 9 too. Buy the AKASO with confidence mate….it’s a no brainer…..
I know this video's quite a bit old now, but I just wanted to say this was an excellent review. I actually watched it beginning to end, I wasn't even tempted to click off--and with my lovely ADHD riddled self, that says quite a bit! If I'm watching a few different kinds of videos, I tend to skip around on the time bar the whole time, haha. But you caught and held my attention 100% for well over 16 mins now--even enough to ramble in a comment for the next hour! Ha! XD So! Great information, above all! You come off very authentic; I love that you actually got excited and showed real emotion, like you spoke from your heart. You definitely weren't boring, you have good energy, and you seem very comfortable on camera. You did a great job putting this video together, too. I was very glad to see that you have all of your equipment used to shoot listed in the description, thank you! :P (Can I ask what you use to edit/finalize your videos, before uploading them on here?) I think what I loved the most was how you didn't just automatically advise to go get the newest, and most expensive one out there, but, & more importantly, that you explained *why* you felt the one was better /for you/ than the other. I'm so glad I watched this, just for the fact that you mentioned the external audio options, alone! (..or lack thereof lol) I didn't realize how big of a deal that was until you brought my attention to it! Oh, a BIG thank you for comparing the lack of an external mic vs the camera in the waterproof case, too! Also *loved* how you pointed out the difference between the newest RELEASE vs the newest model CREATED, great distinction. Thank you for this little gem of an exquisitely executed video review, my good sir! As a token of my appreciation, (and a selfish quest for more knowledge! >;D) you have just gained a new subscriber! WOW! This got really long, really fast lol my bad. Ranting has ceased! See you soon in another video! x🤍o
There's a few million people who know and understand cameras. There's many million more who are starting from scratch. I still use an A M radio with turn dials. Your videos are very helpful. Thank You.
I'm the owner of the Akaso V50x. What I like about this camera is: 1. Stabilization, really, really smooth and very enjoyable if you recording vlogs, etc. 2. Video Quality, the best quality you can get is defenitely in 4k mode. 3. External Mike, it just makes the Akaso sound better. 4. Design of the camera, I really like the art of material it was used to build this thing and it looks great. What I hate about this camera: 1. Stabilization, if you are going to shoot very fast action with big shakes, you are gonna be mad. The stabilization is making fast slides when it comes to moving the camera fast and it makes the footage not better. 2. Lens, after turning the EIS on this camera the Image is very cropped in. This is very bad if you are Mountain Biking, where the wide field of view and good stabilization is needed. But not all is lost :). You can swap the lens for wider and it won't crop the image. 3. 4:3 is not avaible, there are only 16:9 resolutions which kinda sucks. 4. Internal Mike, just too quiet and too noisy. Hard to record some quality audio shots. That's my thought on my Akaso V50x. Feel free to comment.
Excellent video. I have the 7000 because I do kayaking, fishing, and hunting videos from time to time. What I hate, and what no one talks about, is (1) lighting needs and (2) the case "pings" on the audio when you're moving and the camera shifts a little. Regarding the lighting needs, unless it is super bright...the 7000 just won't do. I tried using it for a regular video inside my house. I had 6 LED studio lights on me and it looked like I was shooting at night. As for the plastic case, any movement of the camera (when in the case), is picked up and makes a loud pinging sound that is impossible to clean up in editing. I don't know why reviewers never address the issues of indoor lighting (since most small vloggers will use it for i doors as well) and the use of the camera in an aquatic setting (since water-based activities are really huge).

I just got the 7 le for Christmas. Hoping it will be great for yakkin and fishin. My boys are all about making their very own TH-cam videos 😂. Thanks for all the info! Great, informative video!

I was wondering the same thing. So far the v50 pro is what I'm looking at getting. Hope this helps. 🤙🏻

This comparison is so wonderful. I've been researching cameras for hours and this short clip gave me so much useful info. Thanks!

Super great review. Grateful for the information!
Glad it was helpful!
Been using a Brave 4 4k for 3 years now on my motorcycle with no problems.
Nice.
Thank you for the great info brother! I’m looking for a budget cam to try out the TH-cam thing and of all the GoPro alternative vids I’ve seen yet, this one was the most helpful 👍🏽
Really like your way of presenting your videos. Thank you.
Glad you like them!
@@gregtoope I've learnt a great deal watching a few of your videos and can now buy with confidence the action cam I need. I've decided that the Akaso Brave 6 Plus will be the best choice for my needs. Having a limited budget, as many of us have these days, it's great to get indepth reviews on devices most of us have no experience or knowledge about. Thank you once again. Your work is really appreciated.
@@scoutfinch47 That's amazing! Thanks so much for your kind words!
Thanks finally figured out the one I want. Great job!
Glad I could help!
Hi, what one you going for bro and why?
@@jj-pk2fh The bravo 7 le , appears to be best quality and tough. Getting for my daughter.
Good info n thanks for the review.. 💕
My pleasure 😊
Good video. Did you buy any more since you made this video? How about an update in 2022?
Wich one is the best for underwater videos or photos 😄
@cruisn canada, awesome overview! If could rate their EIS system which one would you say is the best? THANK YOU!
have you reviewed the akaso brave 8 yet
Thank you so much! I can’t find a wireless akaso mic so is there one available or a different one that I can use ? Thanks so much for the review
Thank you, such a great video, which one will you suggest as the ideal one for stills photography underwater close to the water surface?
The best video I saw brillant!!!
Appreciated
Can't picture a use for one for me but very glad motovloggers use them. If there was a chance I would get one, I would likely opt for the Brave 7e. If you are getting anything and it's in your budget, get the latest.
The 7 is an amazing camera. Just wish it had external mic support.
Hey! Great review. I was wondering about the Brave 7 LE not having external mic support. According to the Akaso support portal, the Brave 7 LE supports Akaso’s micro USB external mic. Did they make an update recently? Thanks again!
This was EXACTLY what I wanted to see, Thanks a bunch!
Glad it was helpful!
Best review of AKASOS

Older video yet helpful! Wondering which one you recommend just for underwater ocean swim? Thanks!
Do you think the ASAKO EK7000 is good for mini bike footage? My bf wants a go pro or anything like it but I wanna make sure that it’s the best I can get for cheap.
awesome video, thanks for the help!
