What a strange morning as I spent it ordering my first army the CSM . And waiting for my paints and supplies to arrive to start. I open TH-cam and the first video I see on my feed is a amazing painting tutorial

You guys know Kris Belleau’s channel is also called ‘Way of the Brush’? Might want to rethink that name.
Our series is called the How to Paint series - Way of the brush is just a play on words to let folks know this is only using the brush and not an airbrush :)
Great video. Suggestion for some on demand content - Advanced techniques eg. Blending, stippling, glazing etc. Maybe your Freeview video to tack the advertisement onto could be basic techniques like edge highlights and drybrushing etc

I like the level of Black on the model. I don't remember Black Primer making it so cool so I've always done a wash over it to get a deeper black. Did you do any washes or thinned black over top of the primer?

What is your secret to getting GW metallics to flow well? I have found them hard to use

This is awesome thanks so much for this i might now change my painting recipie based off these colours!
Two questions -
1) Most guides go from thunderhawk blue to fenrisian grey for the armour highlights - did you find the dark reaper adds a significant volume to the black highlights?
2) I love the Retributior / Stormhost mix but I'm never a massive fan of mixing colours for consistency reasons. Is the overall colour similar to Liberator gold (could this be used for edge highlights?) or is it for coverage reasons that the mix works better?

you can get consistent mixes by using dropper bottles
What brush did you use?
What is your thought process behind priming black and painting the gold in two coats over the trim, as opposed to priming in gold, dry-brushing silver, and then painting the black? Does it come down to personal preference, or do you believe this method to be superior?
You can be rough with the gold and silver, and fix it easily with black. Black basecoat generally will hide "mistakes" or "unpainted" areas a little easier.
End of the day though, everything should be personal preference, or whatever you find to be the best method. There is no wrong or right way to paint. Just experiment different ways to see what you like most. It takes time, but the practice makes the end results much more worthwhile for yourself.
How can i consistently get the same mix of colours to paint my full army?
Can I replace Iron Warrior color with Iron Hand Steel? Don’t see Iron Warrior in the paint list btw
