They're blowing away just about ANY band in that time period, pure sound EXACTLY like the record. This isn't learned, you grow up playing like this simply KICK ASS!!!
I saw these guys twice between 86-89 (I think!) up in Manchester UK at The International 2. Since then, I became a musicologist, a musician, a music journalist, a music writer and basically indulged my obsession with music and got paid to do it. In the (nearly) 30 years since those gigs, I must have seen thousands of bands and ten times as many gigs, but the Georgia Satellites remain one of the best live acts I have ever seen, up there in my top ten... maybe even my top five. Those guys fucking rocked. You could tell they'd played a thousand shitty dives, learning how to get a crowd dancing and sweaty and man, did they ever.
@@ritchiecross8972 So have I. The first time, I did it without thinking about the consequences. It fired up the the audience. Now it's ALWAYS intentional. Lesson learned, read the crowd.
Like 'em or not, without question that was one of the ballsiest moves ever witnessed in a live performance. First, Danny Boy sets himself up with the sing along banter. When they don't take the bait and he stops the song dead in it's tracks, chastises the crowd, starts the song again, then kicks ass 'n takes names! Young cats starting out, if you ain't got the goods to back it up don't try this. Wusses need not apply in this band. It takes REAL guts to lay it out like that. Rebels rule! \m/
Great band! I saw them in The Milky Way in Amsterdam (I think round 1990) and we went partying with them after their show...Jack & Coke were present, hahaha! Great guys...

Sitting here with a big, silly grin on my face.
These guys were so fucking wicked. I watch this and it makes me sweat. They were so good. So much swagger, great tones, great drummer.

+Paolo il Lupo You have the job of my dreams other than actually being a lead singer of a famous band.
+Peter North Dude, if you're THAT Peter North, you had the dream job, not me...
Check out a video called Got More Than I Wanted by The Respectables. Similar pure rock n roll similar to this.
I love this post, live music is also about the dives. Maybe only about the dives.
That took some serious stones to give the audience hell for not participating and START THE SONG OVER. Gotta love rock & roll!
I'VE DONE IT !!
The way it should be
