Rod was my neighbor here in NH. No one knew who he was and he was grateful for that! Attended all his kids soccer games and never called attention to his fame.

In case you didn't notice, Lonesome Dave is looking pretty tired.
That's because his life was ending due to cancer.
He died in February of 2000, 5 short months later, just 56 years young.
So, all in all, not bad for guy who just went through months of horrendous cancer treatments. Yes, he went on the road to give it his all, fighting the whole way. You may just want to cut him a little slack.
I challenge someone half his age and in better shape to do as good.
Rest In Peace Lonesome Dave, we miss you, and thanks for the music.
      ps, not calling you out.

The R & R "Hall of Fame" is a big joke. So many incredible bands are completely ignored, & a lot of these never saw any serious air play. Many of the bands that have been inducted are not even rock & roll bands. A lot of the Hall inductees do seem to be more diversity-inclusive nominees rather than actually real rock & rollers. A lot of them do not even consider themselves rockers, & fall under a whole different genre of music. Foghat was a band that excelled playing in front of live audiences. I was blessed getting to see them in 1975 & two times in the 1990's. May Lonesome Dave & Rod Price both RIP.

Sad, Dave looked so sick here. Band had some hard luck. Dave and Rod passed away and now one of their former bass players Jeff Howell passed last week. I had the privilege of playing in a band with Jeff for 2 years 20 years ago. We used to cover a lot of Foghat and Savoy Brown stuff. I played slide decent so Jeff liked having me in the band. He always used to say you'd make Rod Price smile with that solo. I doubt it, as I saw Rod and Dave in the late 70;s and early 80's. They were a force on guitars.

This was one of the best shows that I ever got to attend, I worked at UofHouston abouty 2 or 3 miles from this place and I would dash down there after work, by the time I got to this one there were SO many people there and didn't get my usual spot up close to the stage, but it was fantastic from where ever you got to see it from. Dave had on his bright yellow suit and he had dropped the coat by the time they go to this song. YOu can dig around on youtube and you'll eventually find the whole show, great memories of when I lived in Houston.

I saw Foghat in Asbury Park NJ in the early 70s. Some young girls came up to their limo and asked if they were a rock band. Dave said, "Yes, we are Sly and the Family Stone".

Foghat was my first headliner concert. Colosseum Houston, TX March 1978. BTO and Judas Priest opened. Ticket was $7.50. Lonesome Dave to the end. We chose them over others. This back when groups were touring, Foghat had a blues to their rock. Your either a Foghat Fan, or others.

Well hand me down my Foghat & walking cane!!!! How FABULOUS is this??? These guys are just rockin' playin' their arses off!!! And the outfits, I don't know WHAT to make of the bassist's blue suit & sweaty chest & white shoes Lol Lol but they've got a great version of this old classic jammin' that's for sure.
