He was worn out and his voice was shot at this point, but somehow that was the magical combination that makes this performance one of the greatest Garth moments! That, along with the authentic VHS affects, has captured the high point of my country music teenage years! Thanks Garth for rocking the 90s!
People who didn’t experience him at his peak just will never understand. This VHS (lolol) and this song in particular melted my country music loving brain. Thanks for uploading this!

This magical moment initiated by Mr. James Garver is what made me want to learn to play guitar. Whoever cut it from the Reissue video needs to be tried for war crimes! Thank you so much posting.
Watching this video at 39 years of age only brings back nostalgia. As someone who grew up in the best decade ever in the 90s I feel sorry for those growing up in a Covid world. You didn’t have all the hate, division, and bullshit that you have now with social media. God I hope I land in a hot tub time machine that takes me back to the 90s forever. If you’re my age or older you know exactly what I am talking about.
Yes, John Gable, I do know what you're talking about. I happen to be 20 years, older than you, but regardless. The video to this song, made by the Georgia Satellites, was actually played on the Nashville Networks Jammin; Country, is how I first saw it. There;s just something about that Southern style of rock and roll that has always appealed to me.
You know what else we had that they got rid of that I think changed kids for the worse because they did? Saturday morning cartoons. If you notice all this crap started when they got rid of Tom and Jerry, Bugs Bunny, The Coyote and Roadrunner, Elmer Fudd and the rest of the good ones.
This came out in the early early 90s I would of been about 4 or 5ish... at that point in time I loved this video I put in the vhs and cut a rug to this.
No wonder he won entertainer of the year so much. First concert I ever went to was Garth at Camden Park in WV. I was a kid and Garth was just getting popular. Never thought he would get as big as he did though! He mentions Camden Park in his song "when the old stuff was new"
The power of a telecaster the guitar equivalent of a swiss army knife, the musical landscape would have bee different without the tele. The axe of choice for so many players Don Rich,Buck Owens,Roy Nicholls, Luther Perkins,Waylon Jennings ,Steve Cropper,James Burton,Keith Richards, Albert Lee, Marty Stuart,Kenny Vaughn the list is endless!🎸👍
From a comment below, I assume the rogue guitar player is James Garver, but if you've watched interviews with Dan Baird, the singer for Georgia Satellites, this guy sounds exactly like him when he says "I don't think we're done yet". Once you have a sense of Baird's personality, it also sounds exactly like something he would say!

Garth began in 1989! 30 + years later selling out stadiums and playing songs from 1989 that people love to this day!! Your problem is how he puts on his concerts I suspect! Well in July I’m going to 2 in Charlotte nc be my 11-12 since 1991! Some more facts 10-11 time entertainer of year , #1 selling ARTIST OF ALL TIME! So yea pretty traditional to me
Tom Segura brought me here. Where are the bodies Garth? Asking for a friend. I missed your last show but I bet your ass I’m coming up in May! Til then I’ll just be glassin while sipping on my handle of kool laid. Splurging before sober October.
I’m sorry, but playing the intro to it 15 billion times, is Aggravating. I do not think that Garth Uses drugs, and I sure hope not, because doing something like that is a real “crackhead” type thing. And I know someone will say something stupid like: “you would know wouldn’t you???.” And before it gets said I will answer that. “No I do not smoke crack!!” . Never have! Never will! I just know a neighbor that used to play the same song over and over and over and over and over again while smoking crack. You try hearing “Rock the Casbah” for several hours nonstop, and have your neighbor come by at 6a sharp all buck eye’d, asking if u have any instant coffee she could borrow….. then you can confirm with the neighbor said, she stays up all night smoking crack, no doubt about it!!!
You obviously don't know what the hell you're talking about. This was an encore. Everyone left the stage after the main set. He stayed out and kept playing the same riff over and over again while running around to "get Garth back out on stage". It was all staged that way. And very well done.
Totally scripted, right? All y'all knew that, right? It was not spontaneous. But it was a pretty good idea anyway, pretty good script. The acting wasn't too bad. Wasn't too good either. The fans ate it up so I guess that's all that matters. All you need is a house full of gullible fans
@theovercomingwarrior are you high? The downfall of country music?? If it wasn’t for Garth in the 90’s probably be no close to no country music today!! 30+ years later he’s still saleing out stadiums in 5-10 mins, concerts are supposed to be entertaining and fun his are all that an then some,
@eric if u want concerts and music to be all boring and drunk songs, and etc stick to George strait etc, Garth is entertaining and exciting makes concerts fun, 30+ years later saleing out stadiums everywhere so he must be doing something right
His vocal version of the song wasn't great but it was serviceable, Garth is a great singer, (like, try listing to Hank Williams Jrs version, yikes) but the lead guitar was straight up awful. Didn't do the riff at all! Why not? Deadened the entire experience of the song. Too much background instrumental noise and random things too, so when it came time to charge the song and focus on the best parts, it was just drowned. Like, 4/10 maybe? 6/10 singing, 2/10 lead guitar, 3/10 rest of musical experience
