I bought the YZ250x 2023 last December, I use to race CZ'z back in the day. If you could see my face riding the 250 there is the biggest smile. I have retired my CRF450R. At 71 years young I'm back in the saddle again!
Absolutely love seeing the Offroad tests. As a AA/pro Offroad rider, the 250X is an amazing bike. I’ve been racing one for years. Adding a Suzuki triple tapered needle in the carb makes the power even more smooth and linear off the bottom end. Part # 13383-37FE0
I really enjoyed this vid, so thank you. Just from watching, the YZ125 seems to win out in the FUN category for sure. It will be very interesting to see how Yamaha continues to evolve these bikes in the coming years. Thanks again.
Have a 450fx but adding a 125x to the stable. Next would be a 250x and I'm done 😝. Love the simplicity and reliability of these X models. My KTM 300 can stay on the scrap heap.
I can't decide which model to go with, I like the graphics and performance of the yz250 (50th anniversary) but I want to be able to go slow in the woods when I need too. Not to mention I wouldn't mind a street legal dirt bike which I guess would be a WR model? Would you guys test that model lineup?

I’m 5’9” and ride YZ 250 motocross model. I have to tip toe on flat ground because I’m old and stiff as a board 😂 I fully recommend the YZ 250x, I bought my bike after I rode my buddies 250x. Do yourself a favor and buy a Yamaha 2stroke !
If they came with an electric start, im sure the price would go up to cover the r&d. They might be a serious sales contender with the austrian brands. That being said both my yz 125 n 250 start pretty dam easy. But kicking a bike can quickly exhaust you, especially in a precarious spot like on a hill. So its worth it to many riders.
As 23 250x owner, I'd vote no to increasing the complexity, weight, and cost. Many of the Austrian bike riders now complaining of losing the backup kick starter.

Need a lap time battle. X vs motocross versions on a MX track and then X vs motocross version on a woods course.

Thanks! I needed that.
Yamaha is the only one of the Big Four that makes a full size 2-stroke. I wish there was a KX125 or CR125. I wonder why Honda doesn't

Is it the compression ratio or more the jetting that makes these bikes harder to stall?
Had a yz250 but sold it and got a newer yz125. It is my favorite bike and ive owned wr's, xr's, Drz's, ect.
Why did you sell 250?
@@Backyard_KLX there is something special about the yz125. If you ride for fun, the 125 is amazing. If you race, the 250 is probably more your jam.
Was 2024 the first year they update the transmission for the 250x? Or did they change that a few years back?
For someone with no experience on a motorcycle, which is best to learn on, yz125 or yz250 ?
Yz125
How old?
So the 125 and 125x have the same transmission gearing?
