people said that yz 125x are crazy on their engine because its powerful, i can't imagine that u own yz 250x that the engine's are bigger than the 125, does it more terrifying??
@@mavellawira coming from a wr250r, a beta 390 had a lot of power but I could get used to it. I tried a yz250x which had similar power to the 390, but a bit more up top/slightly less down low, but still rideable. However I didn't take it on anything too technical. The 125 will have a little bit of power down low revs and plenty up top. The 250 has moderate power low, tons up top, I hardly had room to really rev it out.
Thanks for the cool reviews from dudes who ain't afraid to kick a bike, pull a cable clutch and small vibrations don't end their day. I am gonna end up owning a YZ just because I need to harden up and I love that Yam is keeping old school alive.
I just bought a 2017 yz250x to try out and I'm loving it for rocky single track and sand pits. Coming from a tw200 the yz feels like a rocket and actually much easier to ride on rough (actually all) terrain.
Would love to see the (race spec) video of the x models! Like you were saying maybe stiff it up a bit for jumps. Please make a video on that. Love WTM!
I have ridden both of these models at Yamaha Demo Days and agree with everything said here. The 250X is just as strong as my 2014 YZ 250, so it is a beast.
I just got a 125x and its insane fun. Ive ridden bigger bore bikes forever, never thought id get such a small displacement. But it rips! And feels like a mountain bike. More fun than any 250 or 300 ive ridden. Super aggressive bike. Pure fun.
Is there a big difference between the yz250 and yz250x? I'm a big trail/hill/pit rider so I figure the yz250x would be perfect but I still want the power of the yz250.
Yamaha should have kept the 2 stroke oil injection dual sport bikes my DT 125 was a beast I'm trying to find a 350 oil injection for a good price but no one wants to get rid of them.
I own a 2018 yz250x its a great bike but biggest things i dont like are the cable clutch and the bikes vibration is a big downside definitely notice it alot my friend has a 2022 yz125x and it feels alot better the power is more manageable and very light and fun
Clutch pull is one finger on my YZ125 X the first on a tonne dirt bikes l have owned. the YZ125 are an amazing bike to ride 125 cc MXers a dying breed.
@@premix3663. BS. No problem working on my 2018 250xcw, or the 2015 350xc before it….not that I had to other than routine maintenance. Just as or more reliable than every other Japanese bike I’ve had over the past 40 years. Parts prices are similar for all brands in my experience…and parts like clutch plates and wheel bearing last longer on my 2018 250xcw than they do on my 2018 YZ250fx. My red KTM is a pain 2 breakdowns in 58 hours so far and I rebuilt the top end at 49 hours and have perfect maintenance and I'm not to hard on my bikes but when it's not playing up the engine is nice after a TSP high comp head and ECU tune but before it was average.I went and got AA yz250x as a back up bike and it's been a pleasure.@@premix3663
This is totally wrong in every way. There is NO DIRTBIKE more Versatile than the CR500. The Honda CR500 has been used and still used in more ways than any other DIRTBIKE.
Ping and YZ 2 strokes are the best thing our sport has today
15yrs on 4t pds ktm’s. Went with a 23 yz250x last year and I could not be happier. I’m 190 without gear and I haven’t had to touch a clicker.
Love the smell of 2 stroke in the morning!

i own 2 yz250x's. One setup for hare n' hound style racing and the other I ride on local vet tracks. They are awesome.

@blackbear8857 Yes. The 125 is good if you want a lightweight bike and don't mind shifting and clutching a lot
Wish they had headlights for night riding.

I’m a hardcore moto race guy, but I still absolutely love the new 250x. If I had to sell one, I would probably sell the 450, and keep the 250x
Love my 23 250x such a great bike for everything and so much fun makes me smile. Only complaint I have is the vibration

With what KTM is asking for the 125XC the Yamaha is a steal. Forget about the 150 XC-W, that's a $10,100 bike....for a 150! WTF?
Kosts Too Much
That's why I'm going with Yamaha for my first 2 smoker, KTMs are nice but not for that price.
👍👍

Good video guys, very informative.
🙏🏻 in the race spec video can you cover a moto setting and off-road please
I have a 2019 YZ250X and love the bike! It’s so much fun.
Absolutely love my 23 125x - once I got the jetting set it is a monster on the tight gnar here in western NC
I love my yz125. Makes me Wana get the 125x or the 250x
2 smokers all day everyday
Love my 23 YZ 250 x ❤️

The difference is small enough you can still moto on it.

Awesome video! Just picked up the 250x. What ratio of Motul do you use in the 250 Ping?
Waiting on that race spec video!!

You do get more feel from a cable clutch though. Eli Tomac uses cable clutches
@@ButtSnorkler9000and nearly everybody else uses Hydraulic clutch

Both seem to make great 'play' bikes, versatile but as fast as most Riders need. Barring serious competition 🏁
100% competitive in serious competition.
Not true several riders have won Enduro and hair scrambles on a near stock bike. BOTH bikes have more talent then most riders
What year is it? Ill show her a pic and see if she likes the body style
Love my 23 250x

Aren't they 5 speed gearbox ?
mine is.
125 is 6, 250 is 5
Most versatile Japanese two stroke ever maybe….
ya you can actually work on yamaha yourself and afford parts for it unlike ktm garbage which breaks

Ecu? Lol aren't they carbed?
ignition
They still have an ECU... that's how the spark plug knows when to fire.
If they updated it to have eStart I'd buy one tomorrow.
Is it too easy?
❤ it
Glad you enjoyed it!
It absolutely doesn’t have a 6 speed.
125 is 6 , 250 is 5

Scared to compare to KTMs? I’m no KTM fanboy but this review sucks.
Bullshit. Unless these Yamahas are compared to KTM and Beta, this review is pointless.
No e start and jets. No thanks.

@@dickberry3910 A must-have on a 2 stroke is electric start you have gotta be joking?
Do you want a pit mechanic to start the bike for you?
No dead batteries tho
