      Considering this device, but first. Does this device also attract and kill the Butterflies, Bumblebees, Honeybees and other beneficial insects??

    • @nothingbutgadgets
      @nothingbutgadgets  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No. Those are all diurnal (daytime) insects, so this device poses no threat to them. It barley poses a threat to nocturnal insects. Lol 😂

      The light-emitting bug killers only work on moths and other small bugs that are attracted to light. If you want to kill mosquitoes, try looking for devices that emit CO2. Mosquitoes and other blood-sucking insects are attracted to the outgoing breath from humans (which contains CO2).

    I could tell it was a scam when the commercial called it "Fuze Bug", but the link in the ad said "The Bug Slugger". lmao. Big mistake on their part. I said to myself, they don't even know the name of the product they are selling, there's no way this is legit.

    Anyone who knows anything about Chinese manufacturing know that the only difference is the name of the brand. The same warehouse manufacturers the exact same product for several different brands and they're all the same. From bug zappers to led lights to vape carts and everything in between.

    • @nothingbutgadgets
      @nothingbutgadgets  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      this is very true in general. But not all are made to the same specs. If you go on Alibaba, you can deal directly with these factories and see what these Chinese factories offer. Most of their sale pages say that they can customized the product to the wholesaler's specifications.

    • @kanankiri1306
      @kanankiri1306 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not all that look the same are made in the same or by the same manufacturer. For no-name OEM products there can be a big variety of internals for nearly identical casings.

    • @nothingbutgadgets
      @nothingbutgadgets  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Actually, the one with the solar panel that I ordered straight from FuzeBug (called BuzzBug this year) for $60 has completely stopped working, and the one that I got off of Wish.com for $10 is still working just fine. I use it as a flashlight and a camping light, not as a bug killer.

  • @pablocedeno9264
    @pablocedeno9264 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    All of these lights attracts some bugs and kill them. But none of them kill’s mosquitoes!! None.
    Therefore, using lights like these one isn’t the way.

    • @nothingbutgadgets
      @nothingbutgadgets  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You are correct. I make these videos to help people that do not know this.

    • @hikikomoriarty
      @hikikomoriarty ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I suspect that devices emitting CO2 will work a lot better to attract and kill mosquitoes than devices emitting a light. Mosquitoes are attracted to the outgoing breath coming from the mouths of humans (and other animals). Same goes for bedbugs too, which also depend on blood meals to survive. Moths and other small flying insects that are not mosquitoes are attracted to light. Think of how tiny bugs come to your computer monitor at night in the summertime. This explains why the devices tested here killed other bugs, instead of mosquitoes.

  • @williammcleroy558
    @williammcleroy558 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    These would be ok for a southern home (in North America to those not in the US). Those of us who like to open windows could put one in a room and maybe mitigate the bug problem a bit. I'd get the $20 one though, haha.

    • @nothingbutgadgets
      @nothingbutgadgets  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      They do kill bugs, they just do not attract mosquitoes.

    • @hikikomoriarty
      @hikikomoriarty ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If you really wanna attract and kill mosquitoes (rather than other types of small bugs and moths), look for a device that emits CO2. Mosquitoes and other insects that feed on blood are attracted to the outgoing breath of humans (which contains CO2). Same goes for bedbugs, which is why CO2 bedbug traps work well.
