I broke my washing machine once trying to wash pillows. I take them to the laundromat and use the really large machine. If you don’t dry them well they will mold inside. Take them out of the dryer, shake them and put them back in to be sure they are dry in the middle. Good video.

You'll never have to wash a pillow again, just the cover. Buy a mattress protector that zips up and covers the whole thing. I put a zip on each pillowcase. When I have to wash it, I just empty the contents into a bag and wash the pillowcase in a similar way, puff the inside of the pillowcase and put it back when dry, works for me because pillowcases with their filling does not wash easily in all washing machines ❤❤❤

I found out adding a Calgon tablet to the wash cycle will remove blood stains even at 40°C. Normally, Calgon is added yo remove lime from the washing machine, but it will also remove the iron atom which gives the hemoglobin protein in blood the red color.
Hydrogen Peroxide is a bleaching agent, not a detergent. Adding a drop of dish soap (detergent) just helps the H2O2 to cut through any oils to reach the pillow case fibers.
I put pillow protectors on my pillows mine never look like that! I wash pillow cases every week and my pillows every 6 months in the washer and dry in dryer no problem. I've even washed down pillows shook them real good put in sun to dry, shaking occasionally then fluff in dryer on non heat they come out good as new.
Considering the quality of fabric I am not replacing any of my bed sheets or pillows that i own. I wash them and keep them bagged till I use them. Cotton is my favorite in bedding and pillows. ❤

You just have to hang it up to really dry out the insides for an extra day after it comes out of the dryer. Then ‘re-fluff’ it with your hands to redistribute the feathers. You can wash winter jackets by turning them inside out and zipping them up to wash them so that the zipper doesn’t flop around.

Te puede dar igual o mejor resultado si en vez de Peróxido con jabón de platos, mezclas en el atomizador: Perborato de sodio ( que además de Peróxido lleva Bicarbonato ) y el jabón le pones el mismo. El resultado es más eficiente en cuánto a olor, desinfección y blanqueo.
If yuo can unzip and remove the filling, then you should remove it after washing and dry it separately. It'll dry faster and it'll reduce the chance of mould in the stuffing to virtually zero.

Forgot to mention don't stuff the washing machine with two big pillows and add laundry balls which will beat the suds into the pillows. Add the balls also in the dry to speed up the drying process and to make the pillows Fluffy. 😊

The method in the video is wrong on many levels: - it requires manual work, when it can be completely and safely avoided, - the pillows, treated with hydrogen peroxide are not suitable for direct wash with a detergent, before the pillows are completely washed out of the chemical first. Because hydrogen peroxide will kill and disrupt the work of the enzymes, found in modern detergents. Therefore a much better way and much easier too is to directly load the washing machine with the pillows, add 50-100 ml of hydrogen peroxide in the detergent compartment and do a rather quick wash with extra water wash, if possible. A 1 hour program will suffice. Do not add fabric softener with aroma at this point. And then, immediately after the finish of the cycle - make another washing cycle, without pulling the pillows out at all - just add normal detergent and some fabric softener with aroma, if you wish - and run a normal washing cycle (if you can add extra rinse again, do it). And voila :) Btw, from my experience pillows, after washing are not the same - they are not as soft, as they were, mainly because the inner filling forms some "balls" so to speak, and the inner filling is no longer distributed evenly inside the pillow. I have tried to fix that by doing some short fresh-up cycles in the dryer, even added softening balls, but to no avail. So, frankly speaking, it's best to replace old pillows with new ones and only regularly wash the cover sheets of the pillow, but not the pillow itself. Edit: you can use sodium hypochlorite (household bleach) instead of hydrogen peroxide, it is actually better to do it this way. Warning - never mix the two!!!

I use peroxide, baking soda, and laundry detergent. Works like a dream.

If you have an old "mangel" or ringer, use that after washing. Yes, more fluffing needed, but less possibility of mildew.

Thank God I found this video. It made me realise just how short life really is so why waste it washing pillows? That's what the bin is for. £10 for two new ones and, 6 months later, bin them as well. 😂
And help destroy the planet. What do you do with the time you saved, watch football? Besides, at $10 for 2, you are sleeping on nice, brand-new, sweat-inducing cheap garbage all your life.

Ne mélangez pas vinaigre blanc et bicarbonate et/ou peroxyde (acide et base) , ça mousse énormément et les 2 produits annulent leur efficacité mutuellement .Du coup, ça ne fonctionnera pas.

The method in the video is wrong on many levels:
- it requires manual work, when it can be completely and safely avoided,
- the pillows, treated with hydrogen peroxide are not suitable for direct wash with a detergent, before the pillows are completely washed out of the chemical first. Because hydrogen peroxide will kill and disrupt the work of the enzymes, found in modern detergents.
Therefore a much better way and much easier too is to directly load the washing machine with the pillows, add 50-100 ml of hydrogen peroxide in the detergent compartment and do a rather quick wash with extra water wash, if possible. A 1 hour program will suffice. Do not add fabric softener with aroma at this point.
And then, immediately after the finish of the cycle - make another washing cycle, without pulling the pillows out at all - just add normal detergent and some fabric softener with aroma, if you wish - and run a normal washing cycle (if you can add extra rinse again, do it).
And voila :)
Btw, from my experience pillows, after washing are not the same - they are not as soft, as they were, mainly because the inner filling forms some "balls" so to speak, and the inner filling is no longer distributed evenly inside the pillow. I have tried to fix that by doing some short fresh-up cycles in the dryer, even added softening balls, but to no avail.
So, frankly speaking, it's best to replace old pillows with new ones and only regularly wash the cover sheets of the pillow, but not the pillow itself.
Edit: you can use sodium hypochlorite (household bleach) instead of hydrogen peroxide, it is actually better to do it this way. Warning - never mix the two!!!
No need for all that spraying if you wash your pillows every two or three weeks and use pillow covers and pillowcases and wash those once a week.
Never bought a pillow with a zipper !
Splash out and get yourself a new pillow.
