He is a highly educated man and he is also a musician. He spent most of his time producing and writing for other artists. He is an English professor also (early life). He had a couple other hits, but he mostly writes and produces. He is 69 years old now and still sounds just as beautiful. He looks very good for his age and evidently takes great care of his body. He cares a great deal about our people, Blacks and fights for our civil rights. He cares about the earth and all races actually.

"Shake You Down" is a phrase Abbott came up with that he thought expressed the way a man feels when he sees an attractive woman - "Girl, I want to shake you down." He tried the phrase out on a female friend and when she responded positively, it became the title for this song.
