    I bought one and I love it. I think EV6 looks amazing but I needed a car straight away and there was a Niro on the forecourt which I could drive away. Mainly charged from my solar panels. Expensive compared to a similar ICE car to buy but lovely to drive and costs me almost nothing to run.

    Misleading prices, here in UK a fully loaded niro is around £500 cheaper then the basic EV6 with the smaller battery. So yes, price is the same but for different spec.

    Big fan of Chasing Cars. A minor comment made with the greatest respect. You tend to talk almost nonstop without drawing breath. A slight break between points rather than barreling on with more information might make the commentary a little more pleasant to absorb. Otherwise many thanks for your content.

    Not sure what Hyundai was smoking with the pricing…. Go buy a EV6 or Iconic5 for the money. Or save like 25k and get a BYD ATTO 3

  • @vkdlvkdl

    Way overpriced. At this price point, you would expect a medium size SUV at the very least. Makes the Model Y look even more appealing.

      I know right. It’s basically same price as the EV6. Or just get a tesla.

    Question - Versus the Qashqai e-Power, how would the Niro HEV compare? The cooled seats are a really nice add-on, along with lots of other features, though i'm questioned about the value. I really think this car is great, but i'm thinking the Qashqai could be slightly better value. So which would you say is better value?

    I've tried the new Niro in the UK, at 6f4 the seat is too small and the top sticks in my back. At 6f2 did you find the same @Chasing Cars ? Great car apart from the seats, packed with tech and very nicely made.

  • @Clove_Parma
    @Clove_Parma 2 ปีที่แล้ว +12

    As much as I like this car, it's very hard to justify given the similar cost to EV6. If this were even $5,000 cheaper than its current price-point, it would be a much easier ask. Hell, I'd be happy to give up features like the sunroof and electric passenger's seats for example. I'd say it's better to go for base model, but they seem to have made spite-spec features like a deliberately terribly integrated and undersized infotainment screen which looks ridiculous.

    • @michaelboscoe4071
      @michaelboscoe4071 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      In the UK the EV6 does not even have blind spot monitoring in the base version. Sure you get 360 cameras and upgraded speakers in the top version but its 30% more expensive than the Niro, poor rear visibility, 20 in wheels with decreased range and more insurance. Also with 20 mph speed limits here who wants 0-60 in 5 seconds ???

    • @cpal42
      @cpal42 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mmm, this looks like a much better option than an EV6. 83k for an EV6 is a bit too much compared to 72k for a niro.

    As a current model owner, I don’t think I would purchase the new model. The improvements are great, except for the slower acceleration, and the price is way too close to the EV6. In America we have a lot of options you don’t and the prices are much much lower for us.

    Kia Sweden sold 3000 units of Niro EV within the first week of sales. I expect my Niro EV Advance in Aurora black to arrive in August 👍
    In Sweden EV6 is +10.000 Euros compared to Niro EV. Hard to believe that Kia will price Niro EV at the same level as EV6 in Australia.
    We also get 7.000 Euros back from Government incentive.

    The new PHEV version ( maybe Kia are being short sighted in OZ by not offering it like in NZ and other markets ) has 180 HP and looks like a practical option ....35miles of around town on battery only and engine for longer trips. Full EV makes no sense where the infrastructure doesn't exist to support large numbers of EVs.

    I feel sorry for electric car drivers and future owners. They will simply have to learn the hard way .. as I did. These things are a huge hassle and a outrageous expense in the long run. Batteries are very ... very expensive to replace ( thousands of dollars) ... and make no mistake, you will be replacing them. These batteries are highly toxic to our environment, with a high potential for disaster to our surroundings. I wish I knew all this before I bought my car . Do your homework before buying !
