Thank you for sharing your knowledge on these saws. They're great with just a simple muffler mod, but you're taking them to another level. I might have to get up the courage to attempt porting mine. Thanks again for taking the time to make these videos.
So far i've learned quite abit from you and I thank you for that. If you want to learn how to turn a echo into a monster then take note of what this man is doing.
Great advice! I removed the tube, cut a slot in the front similar to yours with the factory deflector, but I just left the side slots open. Seems to breath a whole lot better! I'm going to run a tank a fuel through it and get it tuned afterwards. Well see how it does.
I like to try to keep a spark arrestor if I can, I believe they have a good reason for for designing them. This time of year I don’t care if I have one or not, everything it wet.
I like enlarging the existing hole to 80% of the size of the exhaust port. Or create a second hole next to the stock one (since it easier that way and all it takes is a drill), so long as the stock deflector allows it or the exhaust air isn't in the path of the chain break plastic. Here in Europe we don't have spark arrestors, nor do any saws come with it from factory.
Charles, On the 3/4 pipe you put on your muffler is that on a ported saw or stock. Are you recommending that mode for otherwise stock saws. Love your videos. I have owned both Husqvarna and Stihl saws for decades and have 2 Stihl saws now but I am getting older and want to get a lighter saw than the MS390 I have now and the CS4910 looks like what I want. With that I am looking at videos that deal with that model. You seem to have jumped into modding the 4910 very quickly so I am really paying a lot of attention to your videos. I love your attitude.
I'm thinking of buying my first chainsaw. I've been looking on TH-cam for videos on what is the best saw. It looks like the Echo is comparable to Stihl and Husqvarna and they are less money. I'm thinking of buying the Echo 4910 but I don't know anything about working on them and wouldn't chance doing this muffler mod Do you sell these mufflers?
Use some old bicycle pipe. You can always find a wore out little kids bike and try and find a chunk and cut it. I usually have good luck with the handlebars working.
Hello I have a 501p, tried taking off exhaust bottom left Allen 4 is seized and ended up getting stripped. Bottom right one came out no issues. Any recommendations for getting that out? Tight space.. also is there two screws behind the silver plate in the center? What size? Bought saw year ago, very little use.. thanks for help 🙂
Take a torks bit tap into an try that if not try a over the top easy out like eriwin brand it's my blue Allen that fits so I don't no off hand it's size probably metric
I'd think any such work would void your warranty, but it may vary depending on where you live. It's actually good for the saw to do this, just remember to retune your carburetor afterwards.

Thank you for that! That will helpp me a lot for a port job on a 501 that is showing to my workbench. Looks great!
Greetings from Germany!
Great skills on the muffler mods! Merry Christmas! 💥🎄💥🎄💥🎄

Great work on any an all yr exhaust mods.

Can you do a similar video for the 620?? I LOVE what you're doing with these Echo's!!

Finally did it picked me up a 4910 and 2511t bundle deal. Been brushing up on all your vids!
Sweet you will enjoy them
Thanks for sharing buddy! 👍👍👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🙏🙏🙏🙏
Sweet mode! For a spark arrester you could use the metal mesh covers you’d find on a Suburban or Atwood RV propane furnace.

80 is a good rule of thumb

If your not porting it you dont have to go 3/4 but it won't hurt it if you port it go 3/4for shure
@@CharlesBrisco - thanks for the response.
What are pros n cons on cutting the pipe even with the muffler and having a smooth transition vs leaving some pipe on the inside?
How do I get in touch with you? Would like porting and muffler mod on my Timber Wolf.

What type of 3/4” pipe do you typically use for your mods? Just acid dip some electrical EMT conduit? I want to MIG mine on. Thanks.
I used both conduit has zinc wich can be a pain sometimes

Just picked up a new 4910 haven't even started it yet but you can tell it's choked off. Any tips on break? Can someone send you a muffler for the mod?
Muff mod helps big time porting they come alive

Can this mod be done with no carb adjustment from factory without repercussions?
You shud adjust carb
It is posible to buy this end cap (witch 4 holes.. ) separated to not loose waranty when i will make hole bigger ? 501sx , Greetings from Poland.
