My problem with beardstyles is the growth of my beard. Dense beneath my jawline, above the jawline it’s quite thin. Also left is thinner/patchier than the right side, aside from being a patchy blend of dark brown, golden, red, transparant and grey hair colours. So anyone with style advice for my wide/bigger head that isn’t an Amish beard, I’d greatly appreciate.
well i probably have the exact same beard in term of rainbow colors (like my friends say) patchier on the left, and more dense beneath my jawline. I actually did let it grow for about 2 months and it was kinda sad on the sides ( probably 5 cm of thickness around the jawline, following by patchy hairs on the upper cheecks) and decided to shave sides and leave it with a long goatee (close to no hair on the chin but a decent length on the side and below to cover up a bit) and it wasn't actually that bad, but i'd say i will grow the side back cause i want a jawline ahaha; anyway just to say that you should let it grow for at least 6 months to really see if you really can't grow your cheeks longer and if not, either try a boxed beard/biker beard (cutting your cheeks lower were you have your thickness and leave your goatee growing) or shave you side and go for a goatee. But don't forget, let it at least grow 6 months, and decide after wich suits you the most. cheers
My beard is alot like yours, except I don't shave my neck. I haven't shaved sence 1980. I did just take about 9 inches off. It got to be a pain in the butt having it that long. I do like your video and thank you.
I finally get to start growing my beard out again as we get closer to dropping the mask requirement at work at work. Just starting the build up to my lumberjack style!
nice! I was curious as to what the different styles were actually called . I keep a full beard at medium length and bring it to somewhat of a point so mine would be considered a "dovetail" style I suppose. I always have just trimmed it that way because I like it to have some length but not get too unruly or wide.
I keep my full beard tight, mainly because my head hair is so thick I don't let it grow out too long, and having a beard means I don't keep it as short on the sides as I normally prefer. I alternate between full beard and goatee when I get bored with one style. It's fuller than it used to be as I get older, but now my beard is more white than my head. All the red hairs I had on my head went white, and my beard seems to have had most of them. Not having to shave as much is a big plus.
I currently grow a long beard, but debating on switching to the full beard instead. I have the capability to grow an awesome mustache, and it think it would compliment better with the full beard over the long.
I’m an old hippie, always loved beards, if I were a man, I’d have one. Im looking for a style to fit me. The "I've been on strike for 4 months, I have no job but Im not homeless yet". 1 that will hide the fact I went from 250 to about 270 over the last 6 months. Needs to hide a double then possibly a triple chin. With room for it to get worse over the next few months.
Hi, I’m new in trying to grow a beard and I wanted to ask. I normally wash my face twice a day with L’Oréal Paris Men Expert hydra sensitive soothing daily face wash, then use L’Oréal men expert Vita Lift anti aging daily moisturizer. All over my face from my forehead to the bottom of my neck... Want to ask when your growing a beard (mine is about a centimeter by now) do you stop using cleansing washes on your facial hair side and moisturizers? You only use beard shampoo and conditioner and beard oil and balm? Meaning from forehead to nose normal cleaning routine and face products and from checks to neck just beard products only? None of these are less maintenance. After trying to keep after the thing most of 2020 and up until a month ago, I got tired of all the extra hassle and just shaved it all off. I've learned to like shaving, especially since I'm down to twice a week now.
I always grow out my beard for about 1-2 months, then I shave the sides just leaving a Goatee. Then I continue to let it grow to full length (whatever that happens to be). I find that my chin grows much slower than my sides, so if I just let it all grow out at the same time, my beard is way too wide and round. Doing it this way gives my beard the ducktail point that I like. Now if only I could grow hair under my bottom lip and the center of my moustache. Always been jealous and sad that I can never grow a completely full beard, but everyone has areas they aren't satisficed with.

Any tips for growing out the mustache part in particular? I’ve been growing my beard out for around 1.5-2 years now and I just can never get the mustache to not grow into my mouth despite brushing and end up trimming with scissors. Didn’t realize beard washes were actually worth anything either? Thought they were a marketing thing. I switched to just using normal leave in conditioner for hair on my beard but my have to switch back to beard oil and salves now that it realize it’s supposed to be more for the skin underneath than the beard hairs themselves. Thanks for your advice! These are great.
Mix fresh aloe vera and biotin oil (you can buy it in gel capsules) and mix it then put it on your stache. It will help boost its thickness and growth. Hope this help bro

Hi, so quick question here. Where I live a lot of barbershop have opened, between the one that are legit and the one that are more shady, i was curious : How can i spot if I'm at a good place or if i should run away from those guys?

One more thing, I cut my own hair on number 0 of the clippers. At this point I am tempted to shave it off. It does make me feel somewhat dirty.

@@jdawg1835 of course, if you can’t grow a beard for any reason than grow what you can, but there are people in this world that can grow a full beard and still grow only a soul patch
I had a guy named Billy as my supervisor once. Dude was skinny as a nail, he was younger than 30, he smoked 3-4 packs a day (driving in his car, he’d ash wherever his hand happened to be), wore a SnapBack wherever he went, was a man of few words who started every sentence with his eyes widening before confusingly saying “uh…yeah,” a pocky face from popping pimples as a teen, and he had a soul patch. It wasn’t just a soul patch though, it was the mother of all soul patches. It encompassed most of his triangular chin, it was a bright orangish red, and went all the way down to below his knees. Once a year, he’d shave it off and none of us would recognize him. He was a really chill dude, I liked hanging out with him.
The thing that drives me insane is that I've got a finger width stretch of 100% bald skin disconnecting my moustache and cheek beard... on the right side only. No matter what I do, it's asymmetrical. Just gotta live with it I guess.

I’m in my study hall rn I should prolly do my hw
Not only do I not have a beard I am bald.
@@kakashi_senseisan3931 that's okay too buddy
I've tried the mustache alone and the goatee but i think the full beard suits me better
Mustache wax
Mix fresh aloe vera and biotin oil (you can buy it in gel capsules) and mix it then put it on your stache. It will help boost its thickness and growth. Hope this help bro
Just wanted to say that probably you will not have a lots of views... you need to be watched once every 4 weeks as every time I see your video I want to trim my beard. So authentic and natural. I would be a much more happier man if I would watch you earlier. =) I am happy that you started your own YT channel. Keep it up and do not stop!!!
This video was super entertaining!
I would have title it “ The University of Beards” . I don’t believe it could have done better. Truly condensed, poignant & personally perfect.
Matty's beard is the ideal beard. Manly and full.
I'm so glad you had the big beard on your list. I'm 58, not a hipster. I just love the look. I get lots of compliments. Mostly by other gents who wish they could grow their beards out but their better half won't let them. I bucked against my other half. We haven't kissed on over 3 years. Oh well, her loss....😉
can't get why this guy with these awesome videos just have 16.3K subscribers/followers! Keep up with good work.
Hi, so quick question here. Where I live a lot of barbershop have opened, between the one that are legit and the one that are more shady, i was curious : How can i spot if I'm at a good place or if i should run away from those guys?
Lmao easy. Don’t sit in the white barbers seat
@@consumerreviews5440 what's the white barbers seat? cause english is not my first language and i'm not sure to understand what you mean.
@@loulouninyou when you go to the barbers make sure you see the Mexican/black barber lol. The white barbers don’t know whats up.
@@consumerreviews5440 ah, ahem... we have more of turkish and albanian guys here
I'm gonna work on a video for you about how to find a good barber!
Aiming for the duck tail. Saw your advice on the baseline earlier and think this is what I'm missing, keeping it way too close to the jawline. Great channel.
Nice I’ll keep these in mind when styling the 7 hairs growing on my upper lip
I am going for the Van-Dyke, since, at 50, I still can't grow Wolverine sideburns
I’ve had the Wolverine and the Capt Price handlebars. Both work surprisingly well even though a lot of folks think they don’t
Glad you mentioned the ducktail beard.
I have a ridiculously pronounced French fork and at first I hated it but now I'm appreciative of it since I grew out my mustache
I currently have the lumberjack beard but am aiming for it to be the long beard.
Kinda tiny bit surprised the "Lincoln" wasn't mentioned, which I've been sporting for the last 10 years or so.
Thank you for all this awesome info. Lately i’ve been growing out my beard and learning how to shape it myself, already got a nice clipper and now here i am :P. Subbed
This is a great video to figure out what you want for facial hair and what type face shape you have.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Currently have a "brouge" I just keep my beard short or at stubble length and let the stache grow
I switch between ducktail and lumberjack trimmed it's a ducktail then it grows into a lumberjack I use Shea butter balm all natural fantastic for a full beard.
No.4 is Comstock from Bioshock Infinite lol
I had mine longer than I've ever done, but didn't know what I needed to shape it and maintain it. And so I had it trimmed as I got my hair cut, I have oil, shampoo and conditioner and a new trimmer as I only had a hair clipper. But got everything so going to grow it back
would love a video on how you cut/do your hair bro
Whoa, 😳 sir you are the 'Beard man'' or the 'Beard legend' your style and performance with them clippers and Sheers is amazing. I'm very impressed 👍 thanks for sharing... "what an awesome gift" thanks again. "Mahalo NUI from the state of Idaho".
Can u make a Video about patchy beards pls?
No. Shave it
I'll try and find a better model for that! Thanks for watching!
You should use beard oil and workout to get your testosterone high and just let it grow but trim it and look after it
@Atwven Manga lmao this guy
You forgot the Santa Claus beard.
Thanks for the info Matt
Shoutout from the Czech Republic. I love your videos. Can you make video about daily beard care please?
I'll give it a shot!
#8, full beard, will always be the best.
The lumberjack is probably where mine is but I trim it to a dove tail every so often
I go back and forth
Great video Matty 👍
Thank you for watching !
my cheeks wont fill in propper .. any advice there ? :D
Nice description about the some beards
The Brogue beard style , makes me look like an old school butcher. Its really cool with a bowler hat.
im going for the long beard but with the full beard/lumberjack styling. im about 3 months away from the Yeard and am really seeing great shape now instead of a wild looking mess.
That’s awesome... the long beard has a fairly significant awkward phase. Bravo for staying the course
Hipster youth pastor, that's gold!
Thanks for the tips in this video
Man i love your videos. Cool, entertaining, lots of knowledge.
I love to use the shaped stubble, but now I'm on the way to tapered beard, loving it
You have totally missed out the classical handle bars moustache. Not a hyped thing anymore but still a thing in especially countries like Italy and France.
Been rocking chin strap w scruff for 16 years now. Thinking about adding mustache to it maintenance once a week max chick's dig strap w 4 day scruff! Not clean shaven or big beard in my experience.
Top video buddy, loved the smooth transition into selling the product 👌
It's just awesome...haha
Your video quality is top notch every time
not bad for a tripod and a backdrop 😂
I've never heard the phrase "training beard" before. I like it.
Never had a beard. Years ago I had a mustache. Trying to grow a beard now but I have a considerable amount of sparseness and unevenness. That said I want something that I can train and trim at home. One more thing, I cut my own hair on number 0 of the clippers. At this point I am tempted to shave it off. It does make me feel somewhat dirty.
my question is, why would anyone even grow only a Soul patch? what is the point?
LOL, my brother works a job that requires wearing a respirator. The area were the respirator contacts the face has to be clean shaven. So, he sports a soul patch. But otherwise, yeah, I agree.
@@jdawg1835 of course, if you can’t grow a beard for any reason than grow what you can, but there are people in this world that can grow a full beard and still grow only a soul patch
So you don't look like your sister while sporting your man bun.
@@patrykszafraniec5234 🤮
David bowie nailed it
Where's the "Matty" beard shape?
Mine is in transition towards the lumberjack
@@mattyconradgrooming And it's already sick as shit! Can only imagine what the final outcome will look like on you.
@@mattyconradgrooming and Nipsey hussle's ???
Glad to know there are some who go still against the grain
I love the Duck tail. But the Gerabaldy is awesome as well
The thing that drives me insane is that I've got a finger width stretch of 100% bald skin disconnecting my moustache and cheek beard... on the right side only. No matter what I do, it's asymmetrical. Just gotta live with it I guess.
Beard clubs beard growth oil and growth spray worked great at helping me get my patchy areas filled in youm could try them.
Try a derma roller to stimulate growth and grow out surrounding area so long it basically covers it
Love the advice and attention to the details you provide. In addition to the beard I'm also a hat guy, what are you sporting??
